Going to a Nightwish concert jumped to the top of my bucket list!
Discovered them about 2 years ago. Really didn't think someone could actually sound this good live. I was wrong. Went to a concert and it was really something else. Took my 18 year old son who doesnt really listen to this stuff and halfway through first song I asked what did he think and his response was "this is fu@$&%# awesome"...as he watched with a puzzled look on his face.

As someone who's been to 6 shows, including Wembley 2016 (but, sadly, not Wacken), I will say, even after you've done it, you'll just want more, it's one of those things that don't drop off the bucket list.

That "Bull-Head" is the symbol of Wacken Open Air(WOA), a Metal festival held the first week of August each year in a village of 1800 where up to 190 bands play over 9 stages for 3 or 4 days. It is one of the great Meccas of Metal and the place where any metal of any reputation wants to play. Only 82,000 tickets are sold to keep it manageable and they go on sale the day after the festival closes and sell out in less than 24 hours. So yeah 80,000+ metal-heads were under the Valkyrie Goddess's control this night from the main stage and man did she have a coming out party having just been made a member of the band!!!!She is the 3rd and LAST vocalist of Nightwish, if she ever left we would storm Finland to get to the band and then Sweden where she lives with her husband and daughter. This is the one of the GOLD standards to judge this band and LIVE at Wacken you don't get any better than this.
She growls but you have to hear the Banshee Scream of Terror at the end of Romanticide (th-cam.com/video/zz_7OCCQlXs/w-d-xo.html) and then Ghost River (th-cam.com/video/05eitd-EA6I/w-d-xo.html) both heavier metal songs that she and Marco nail again at Wacken...like we said one of the best concerts ever!!

To me an even better version of this song is the 'official' version they released, in a theatre in Brazil. Smaller venue, more insane crowd, and you literally see Floor's vocal chords ready to burst out with that last big note.

Great reactions to Nightwish. I watched all of your video reactions to Nightwish and enjoyed seeing how much you enjoyed them as so many of us have. Floor has such a beautiful powerful voice with an incredible dynamic range. She has become my all time favorite singer and Nightwish is the band I would most like to see live. I hope to attend a concert here in the USA in 2020. The headbanging you so much enjoy, I also admire her stage presence in the way the moves and sways to the music as well. I look forward to more Nightwish reactions by you and you can't go wrong with any song from this Wacken 2013 concert. I know you will not fall short in the request department for this band. Just FYI, that’s about 70 minutes into the show and Floor had been killin’ it the whole way already. Also, that’s 82 THOUSAND people hanging on her every note; so, no pressure on her to Bury that high note.... At 6’1 and 170 pounds Floor is a smiling, singing, dancing, enchanting, stage commanding Valkyrie; and to me at least, a gift from above. Seeing the whole video of this concert, Especially the Floorgasm changed my life. It made me start listening to music again. I love watching these reaction videos and my biggest hope is that people follow and enjoy the Symphonic Metal path I was led to. Welcome to it.

I know this is an old video but i specifically looked for this song when i came across your channel. That shock was my reaction to at the end too when she holds out those notes (the audience too because you can hear them go crazy). I've listened to it hundreds of times probably.

@@flashpeter625 you are so correct. The entire performance is epic. It was a magical night . I do believe this was her first stage appearance with this band as she was new and had only 48 hours to learn the setlist. All that being said, the entire band was flawless and Floor delivered one of her best performances ever. Check out Floor Jensen with her previous band Revamp song "Disdain". Also Floor and her sister Irene do a song together live it's called " who I am" you won't be disappointed.

I saw it live. The first note of the song started, I was already crying. And that's after already having watched the video like 50000k times since the first time I saw the Buenos Aires video.

So, welcome to Nightwish, and Floor Jansen, the Dutch Viking Goddess of Metal. People claim she's a vocalist but she plays two instruments: the crowd, and your emotions. She plays 'em like a fiddle.
This song Ghost Love Score is considered the entry to 'the three masterpieces'. The second is Poet and the Pendulum, which is Tuomas writing his deep, near suicidal depression and tearing emotions into a 14 m masterpiece, that saved the band.
Then there is their Opus Magnum: The Greatest Show On Earth, a 21 minute masterpiece that makes the journeys Ghost and Poet take you on feel like walks around the park. The song is about the creation of Earth and the evolution of all life, and is, IMO, one of the greatest pieces of modern music ever written, on par with Bohemian Rhapsody, One and November Rain.
Floor is the third singer for Nightwish, and they're on record saying that she'll be the last singer they'll ever have. Because, honestly, where can you go after this ....
Yep there is no replacement for her. ;-)

The very best performance of "Ghost Love Score", was when they played live in Tampere, Finland....Best produced song I have ever heard, I'm 75 years old, TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN is a Genius....

FYI Floor is now in a Dutch tv show called "Beste Zangers" (Best vocalists). The program consists of 7 vocalists in total. Every week one person is the guest of honor and the other vocalist will sing a cover or a song that the person has a special connection with. This week the guest was Henk Poort a very famous Dutch musical and opera singer. Floor of-course put on her opera voice with a little bit of symphonic metal twist. :-) here is the clip. @

The Festival they're playing at here is Wacken Open Air (the longhorns are their logo) and it's the biggest metal festival in the world with well over 120k people there. It's in Germany on farmlands in a small village called Wacken :)
What do Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Adele, Patsy Cline, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Ariana Grande, Whitney Houston, and Aretha Franklin have in common (besides all being women and talented singers)? It is that Ms. Floor Jansen can sing pretty much everything better than they can-she proved it on Beste Zangers this year. (I left out some other well-known singers like, oh, Celine Dion and Katie Perry, because, well, they sound like hamsters.) Good thing for all of them her day job is performing with a Finnish Heavy Metal band.
What else do these singers have in common? Not one of them could even attempt what Ms. Jansen does, every time she goes on stage with Nightwish.
Floor is still a part of the band. She's their third singer, and at this point (Wacken, 2013) she wasn't even actually a member of the band. She was a temp, brought on board mid-tour to fill in when their singer (Annette Olzen) had to drop out due to health issues. If you love the harder, more head-bangin' stuff, I'd recommend "Romanticide" form Wacken 2013.

I had never heard of Nightwish, stumbled upon them a few days ago, must’ve watched 100 or so reactions to this video, Floor is incredible, the drummer is out of this world crazy good, the bass guitar is fucking awesome, and damn he can sing too, the rhythm/lead guitar is mental, and the keyboard guy is just so in tune with everything. This is a great band.
I’ve watched the entire Wacken concert, it’s an absolute spectacle. I hope they come to Scotland, I will definitely be going.
