- My Husky SWIMS in a POOL For The FIRST TIME! Key has a sprained wrist so a therapeutic swim has made it feel a lot better. The life of a stunt dog! I can't stop him doing his somersaults, but I can help him recover when he pulls something. Key loves swimming, but this is his first time in a pool and jumping in is a little scary at first, but he gets the hang of it.

Oh he looks so scared at first, like most pups. Once he gets the toys and such, he seems to have it figured out! Well if you ever come stateside, Key can come swim in our pool! Water Therapy is SO great for dogs!! And people too!

Haha, he does look panicked when he swims, but he actually loves it. He's swam in the wild before, rivers, lakes and the sea, and always has this same expression on his face. He was just a little more concerned getting into a pool for the first time AND while wearing the dreaded harness ;D

He actually loves swimming, he always looks slightly panicked, but it's just concentration. He looks the same way when he swims on his own in the wild. It was just new being in a pool under control.

It's like watching a parent (Jodie) try to get a toddler (Key) to try something new.
The toddler pouts about it beforehand, the parent promises to get them a toy if they give it a try, the toddler ends up enjoying themselves, parent has a lot of cleaning up afterwards.😆

Suriprising that key is so comfortable in the water!! He is such a love !! So handsome and smart !! Excercise is good for him ! Good for his hips !!
Lovely! Swimming is such brilliant, gentle exercise for dogs with joint issues. I had an elderly GSD (Harry) with hip problems - I started taking him for weekly aquatherapy sessions and it totally transformed him. Built lots of muscle to support his joints. I'm convinced it extended his life and added greatly to his enjoyment of it. He used to literally squeak and quiver with excitement as we pulled into the swimming pool car park! Lovely to see Key in the pool... Go K'eyush!😍😍
The water treadmill made a huge difference to loosening up his hips and this swim worked wonders for his sprained wrist :)
This is so adorable. Seems to me that Jodie is a bit anxious for Key but you hear the pride and encouragement in her voice... Adorable Key and his adorable and adoring mom...

Oh, and it keeps getting more and more adorable... How he ignores the bigger toy, how he does go for offered treats while swimming, mind you, how he lands on the ramp like he's returning from a desert crossing, and how he happily chomps down on his big new toy... The captions were just perfect!!!

I love that you’re teaching him to swim with confidence. I truly believe that’s time well spent.
But he is a husky.
As far as he’s concerned, his job is to take you to the next place as quickly and efficiently as possible, and outside of those two major goals, he wants only companionship, love, safety, and of course a load of biscuits!
I can truly appreciate the relationship the two of you have. Always cherish it, because it goes by too fast.

Kibo is always nervous going in the hydrotherapy pool at first, then she loves it - chasing the ball around and doing watery snorts the whole time! Half husky and half Labrador, which are apparently total opposites when it comes to water.
Haha, yeah most huskies have a natural aversion to water and labs do tend to love it. Key loves swimming, but it was his first time in a pool AND wearing a harness which he hates ;D Huskies also have webbed toes which makes them great swimmers.
@@KeyushTheStuntDog one other bonus is that she always smells great, as she gets a little shower and shampoo after. Does Key get a wash after each swim?
Always a bit bittersweet watching Key. He’s a joy, but it makes me miss my huskies. This video really struck a cord. My girls grew up in the desert, and when they were puppies, they spent a lot of time at grandma’s house since she had a pool. One unusually moderate day (the desert is usually extreme heat or extreme cold) I left the home without them for a short time with the windows open. Apparently they didn’t appreciate being left alone, and when I got back a few minutes later, I was met at the door with silence instead of a swirling dervish of fur that I was accustomed too when they are left alone. It took me less than a minute to see they pushed out the screen of one of the windows and escaped. I started searching the neighbor hood for them when I got a call from the sheriff. The neighbor a couple blocks over apparently found two huskies sitting in their pool and called him. He asked if they were dangerous. I laughed and said, “My two giant furry squeak toys? They’re about as dangerous as a spaghetti noodle.” It was quite the kerfuffle, but they had a great day of it. The neighbor even invited them to come back.
