I think for the next 'remix' style or similar event we need two currencies, bronze for cosmetic rewards and something else, like scrap, for equipment upgrades (which could also drop by scrapping equip). That way it would also be easier to balance the amount of currency rewarded

If we took the current loot and split it into two currencies, it would equal less bronze, so it would be worse for those who *only* care about cosmetics, or *only* care about upgrading.
@TheSyncos but that way, they would see exactly where a fix is needed and can raise it accordingly, without screwing with the other side. A new system would have to be balanced with that in mind from the beginning obviously. That's why I meant for the next possible events, not now.
I'm in the minority here, but as somebody who has played since vanilla...i feel the war between the alliance and the horde is played out. just let them engage in "war games" for pvp and let us guild/raid/dungeon whatever with whoever.
Agreed. The faction war is silly at this point. After all the world ending threats it seems insignificant. We've even teamed up many times.
Bringing back faction conflict just for the sake of it is bad storytelling, especially with everything the factions have experienced already, and the cooperation they did together for mutual survival against world ending events, multiple times. There needs to be growth in not only individual characaters, but in featured societies.
The story has already been told, it's not a new story being re-written and there was faction conflict back then so it makes sense no?

I agree. It is also a used concept in half of the existing expansions - Cataclysm, MoP, BfA, WoD are heavily featured around faction conflicts.

The reasons can vary, but no conflict has clearly lead to the most stale expansions to date. The core of warcraft was clearly, conflict. Ever since they introduced this sort of 'we forgive you' with seemingly nobody able to disagree, most notably amongst Worgen and Forsaken, that conflict could not have been solved other than the flimsy tape that is having your faction leader speak for you, with no say in the matter.
It's been even worse than just continuing the same gimmick of rocking out a implied cold war or conflict narrative.

The writing team for these non-conflict factions has been awful, and it's not all to blame, but it is a symptom and a restriction on true creative writing.
Turalyon is one of my all time favorite characters in the warcraft lore. I was honestly blown away when they brought him back in legion. I really want him to develop as a quality character and still the good guy.

Oh god, please do not give blizzard the idea that we need to be back to horde vs alliance.
Its literally the biggest reason that faction conflict is a joke, because the amount of times that the factions learn to put aside their differences, only to turn around and pick a fight again with no availability for nuance, this is the main reason it feels stupid and soft, because instead of having a strong villain to fight, theyre just reluctantly hitting each other until somehting causes them to learn the lesson they learnt a week ago already. It's not that "its soft when the factions are friends".
There is plenty of ways to give wow its edge, to have groups within the horde and alliance be antagonistic, without forcing players into another cycle of "we've learned a better way!" Then immediately going "but actually remember that time the orcs did that thing?" And rendering the entire previous expansion story useless or worse, into a joke, just so we can have capture the flag be a game mode still.
Horde vs alliance is beyond burnt out and it makes literally zero sense narratively (has since Wrath) that the factions are split by race, or that the factions end up fully warring with one another and at minimum, you should be able to choose your race and faction independently.
In fact, thats the reason why we got the whole sylvanas SL insanity, because they needed to crowbar in some reason why the horde and alliance needed to fight each other, despite the fact most of the horde was no longer happy doing so.

Honestly dont see why we cannot have a story mode where we run dungeons and raids similar to delves with npcs or even our alts eventually we know they can do this since its done on Exile's Reach, if its because raids and dungeons are too hard take out all that mechanics bs

haha such a great change, except I'm 10000% sure it was either an oversight or they just wanted to give you more challange and made it stricktly tied to the achievement last second (same way they changed how the cloak works) and decided later on that changing it back can mitigate some of the dmg their dumb leadership caused with all the nerfs. Otherwise why would you have it in a shop? You might "accidentally" delete the item, you are wearing 24/7, so you can buy it again? C'mon man, you can't be that naive...

I remember waiting years for Turalyon to return, hanging out with Arathor. He was kinda the main charcter of the Alliance until he disappeared. He remembers orcs as bloodlusting fel-savages because he has never experienced the orc honor arc.
Look coming from wc3 the horde vs alliance antagonism didn't make much sense anymore. Its always felt grating that they just tried to force some kind of reason for there to be a conflict to justify the existence of horde vs alliance.
It's pretty boring how it always comes down to "you savages have no place here" vs "screw you pretentious xenophobic assholes" just with some different spice.
Also some ground mounts could have a lunge ability on a 10-15 second cd. So I don’t have to swap to a flying mount to cross a small gap

Story difficulty as mentioned is a step in the right direction, and you are correct that it needs to include the full raid while utilized the Follower Dungeon feature as well. Follower Raids are the natural next step from Follower Dungeons, and could be a great way to tell the full story. It would even be acceptable if Follower Raid availability was delayed until weeks after other raid difficulties had been available.

The reason it's so thin and flimsy is because they went through all the effort in those good storylines that people love, to have the characters actually learn something and grow, but now they desperately try to force the horde vs alliance thing every expansion despite it making the characters just feel stupid because it just basically retcons character arcs and the general narrative of the world.
Horde vs alliance is just a joke now, it makes no sense for the characters to go through what they have and to just revert to "ew orcs are bad" every expansion.
The frog farming still had no consequence. The gear upgrades they purchased was not nerfed, it's their gear, the cloak is an afterthought.
I might be wrong but I seem to remember that frog farming was an OP method that got nerfed with the original timeless isle release too

I feel like Blizz should allow us to hide a glove like we can with shoulders. There are so many transmogs that I would love to build but when you hide a shoulder that one glove on the other side is so bulky! I would have expected that before us hiding our pants in-game. This was my request instead of something for the skyriding abilities :)

Finally a story mode for raids. That is all I wanted from the game since forever. I don't give a flying fuck about gear. I don't enjoy dungeons or raids with other players, as they tend to rush through or are just ridiculous toxic. I dropped out from the game back during Cata, but I came back now during DF. With Story mode I will definitely stay with the game for longer.
You don't want to play with other people in an mmo? I guess you also don't like that they sell pizza in a pizzeria.
We need a story mode for all content. Some just really enjoy the world, lore, characters and general development of the story above all else.
The 40k bronze is not even enough to upgrade a single tier. People are maxed out at 556 and the cloak. Even if you nerf them, we are still gimped as fuck. Why is nobody mentioning this.
They don’t understand how the mode works. Everyone just gravitates to a cloak buff that could have been tuned.
I mean the rest of us who are grinding PvE content should be have our gear upgraded to 556 in like a week or two and the power level will get relatively evened out
The Cloak is the part that matters. Unless these people just stopped playing for a disproportionate amount of time, we would never be able to catch up to the amount of Cloak threads that they were ahead by. Eventually, everyone who sticks to a main will completely stack their gear to maximum iLvl. They're ahead, but it's only for now instead of for the rest of the event.

It's a 3 month event. You guys are wanting to complete everything in a matter of days. You're forgetting this is meant to get cosmetics and level alts, which is what they mostly advertised it as. The gear upgrades should be an afterthought once you're done collecting what you want.
I get how a thousand years of war could change Turalyon, but if you've read Beyond the Dark Portal, he was never painted as a warmonger. He was a priest before a paladin. It pained him to see his companions fight even the orcs with hate in their heart. Maybe there is context I have missed that changed his character, but I haven't seen anything to necessarily paint him as a zealot. Even with the legion stuff.
I just want to finish all the end of campaign mobs. I don't do lfr though. I don't do groups either. I have specific needs being disabled where there are times I can go do what I need in a follower group that doesn't matter to it and doesn't matter if I know the fight or not or that I'm not maxed on gear, etc.
I still think they should make a follower raid, of course with a reasonable loot,(normal/follower dungeons ?) seen the last boss is great but it still missing the other Story of the raid. And like follower dungeons I think a lot of people could/would just is to seen is tanking in raids an option for them
i want story mode raids without time gating. Let’s not pretend that raiders raid so they can do listen to boss dialogue and die repeatedly to see if there are victory dialogue
Raiders are playing the game just like you. The victory cutscene is the greatest moment for a raider. It's completely standard for game story to be gated behind gameplay in every game ever

They just don't want story mode time gated like LFR is, where a person running normal can finish the raid day one but LFR players have to wait a week or two between wings. There is no excuse to delay it other than to piss off people who do those modes.
@@willythemailboy2 there is. The final story beats should be reserved for people that actually beat the game. Otherwise you should go watch movies or cheat it and go watch on TH-cam. Blizzard is compromising by adding it in story mode a month later. It should be a victory to see the cutscene legit instead of doing it the easy way. It's a game not a movie.

so far loving Remix. Just wanting the upgrading of gear to have a drastic change in cost.
Problem is, all they did was mildly nerf the cloak.
They didnt nerf the gear.
So the people doing 6-8 million damage, are still doing multiple times other peoples damage, its just now at 1-5 million instead. The frog farmers STILL won out by having every piece of gear at ilvl 500 and every single stat gem bis legendary.
gems really aren't hard to come by

Even after the nerf I've come across multiple people still popping over 5mil dps with cloaks having around 45k stam. Still feels kinda busted
Why do you say that Turalyon tortures people when the one actually doing the torturing is Alleria and he helped her after she insisted, you have a very clear bias.
A draginriding ability to gain a LOT of directly upward altitude would be nice. Whirling Surge can be used this way, but it's not enough when you're in some of the older areas with extremely diverse heights and need to dragonfly upwards for a long time.
Gathering profession perks that are mount related should be part of those abilities. So we don’t need to unlock these functionalities for every xpac. Gathering while mounted, getting vigor from gathering, maybe more?
I see the LFR wing restriction as a alt catchup thing. As far as the faction war my issue with it is that the Horde were ALWAYS framed as the villains and aggressors from Garrosh to Sylvannus (because we didn't get any time with Vol'jin as Warchief and the Thrall era was hella hands off). The Alliance outside of the purge of Dalaran which was really just Jaina the Alliance never did anything ingame to make you believe that both sides were morally grey.
Story mode raids hopefully progresses to use warband as followers!!! But personally would like it to be hard as heck and full raid.

The Mounts should be able to climb walls or dig underground. Besides that how about mounts than interact with each other and have some bags to put items into
"climb walls" they can fly. so that's obsolete. "dig underground" no. that would be logistically impossible with how they've designed every map in the game. they would have to add a layer underneath every single zone in the game; never gonna happen. maybe a zone specific "this one mount can dig in this one area" but itll never be game-wide
You can leave the random faction stuff within the story, and also have the player characters not be "part of the factions" and instead just have more of a big picture kind of perspective of things.
Skyriding needs a Loop ability! We can loop on regular flying mounts, why not skyriding mounts? :D Imagine flying past something and you see something out of the corner of your eye, and then quickly hitting that loop ability to move back a bit without losing much speed. :D It could also be like empowered abilities, allowing you to hold down a key for a few seconds, flying down then and upside down (moving backwards) while you hold the key, and when you release it, you fly upwards and fly forward once more. :D It could also be a choice note - picking between looping upwards or downwards.
Having the instant no vigor cost jump from the ground that dracthyr get for soar would be a cool choice node skill for sky riding
I hope we get the ability to pick skyriding or standard flight on a per mount basis. For druids in particular, I like being able to quickly swap to my flight form mid air while dragonriding.
wasn't just gulp farming. I was doing crazy farming in general and got my cloak pulled back and still got the "not glup farming" bronze bonus
I tried the frog farm for like 30 mins (and poorly because of 5-man tag stealers) AFTER they removed the charm drops.
I missed out on the bonus bronze because of this, so I'm underpowered AND punished. They nerfed people down to 2500 stats, I was barely at 500 for any of them.
This just makes me feel like an absolute fool for killing any frogs without spending 12+ hours doing it. At least then I would've been able to get my gear upgraded.
I just feel bad after this. ☹
In the same boat, i didnt even join a group and my server is low pop so my shard didnt even have them hyper spawning and i was literally just solo farming them for maybe 30 minutes max. I literally just killed mobs in a mmo game for 20 or 30 minutes and got punished as if i exploited. Feels bad.
The final part of the video got me thinking... If/When we're introduced to the Arathi Empire on the other side of Azeroth, I can see Turalyon joining their faction and becoming an antagonist
I want my mount to have a blink you need to charge up. But one that actually lets you skip through terrain or something. I know that's not usually possible in a game world like this but it would make sense for dragon riding skill expression
For most people its not a choice between 'doing the raid in LFR' or 'Skipping to the final boss' its 'Don't set foot in the raid at all' or 'Skip to the final boss for story completion'
Incorrect regarding accounts that did minimal frog farming. I did it for 20 min (which equates to 6k bronze and 1k threads), and got rolled back. Most of that progress had been earned in the past few days.
Also, most power was coming from maxed out gear upgrades, so frog farmers really only lost stamina.
As a new player who just subbed to play MoP remix, "Remember how good X was" is completely lost on me
This is a far shot, but I would love to see mounts integrated into specific forms of combat. Would be super cool for certain models to be able to swoop in and pick up enemy npcs, or breathe fire and have their own attacks. Of course this would probably be limited based on context, but it would be nice to see in WoW and has a lot of potential.
Getting bronze is pretty easy now. Level one character to lvl 70, you get 40k bronze and plus all the other you earn along the way. That can net you 1-2 elusive boss mounts or many transmogs set on a single character by simply leveling them up to the max.
Idk, I found the faction conflict in BFA quite great. I maxed out both and Alliance and Horde character and it was crazy seeing so much destruction they were causing each other and their new allies. I also like the x.1 patch that ramped it up to full scale assaults on each other with the world quests that would lead into the boss take down, felt excellent (to be fair, it got stale pretty quick)
All of the bronze farms were there when MoP was current. It's pretty insane that it even made it to live since it was exploited in the same way 12 years ago for gold and gear tokens
Factions in wow should be more of a living thing, like different races switch allegiances every so often. Would make the politics of Azeroth more dynamic
I’ve read that if you fully upgrade your gear, you’ll be able to solo the normal dungeons and raids. (Some classes are better than others) doesn’t this alone make upgrading worth it? It shouldn’t take long to regain your bronze and more.
Frog farmer gets 400.000 bronze. Blizzard: we gave everyone else 40.000. There it is fixed lol
I think such scenarios can be handled by adding weekly a caps, like a conquest cap. So even if u find the frogs, u can't get infinitely powerful.
For an hour of frogs I didn't get the 40k bonus, which means I played an hour to lose 10k-15k bronze. I look at my cloak and the stats are in the 1000-1400 range, having played every day, clearly not the stats of a rolled-back frog farmer. So I go and level an alt to 70, in an afternoon. No big deal. But none of that feels good, honestly.
My stats are in the 300-500 range and I spent about 30 mins frog farming after they removed the charm drops. Still punished.
Being able to do a loop de loop on a skyriding mount would be cool
If they rolled back gulp frog farmers it didn't help, raid finder still has one DPS soloing the entire thing
If they spendbit upgrading all their gear or buying rewards at the vendor, they still have that which non froggers don't.
I'd love to see the Y axis limit removed from the camera and mount in flying. Let us do loops! (Not the pageup pagedown limitation)
I bet it made a dent in M+ numbers. Keys just got hardened by ten levels and this pandaria-storm just sings celestial glory to speed running.
Ngl all the comments about the upgrades not being worth it are so strange to me... idk doing a few raids daily and the daily quests got lots of bronze and turning that into upgrades immediately made getting bronze faster, allowing for time I want to grind hard even better. I have full 416s now and while that's still a far way from the 525 or whatever the cap is, that gear is still making an insane difference from the 346 gear with the way gems scale, on top of raw stats. I dont think it's worth it to spend all the bronze you grind to farm max ilvl, honestly it's overkill and that shouldn't be the goal.. I am at such a comfortable level with over 2.3mill hp in my brewmaster spec rn just cruising through normal raids making an easy 40k bronze a day in a few hours. The buffs just make it even better!
edit: also I don't understand comments saying that upgrading "gets expensive" it's the same price for each piece of gear the entire way through.
Some non final raid bosses are story significant and should be included in story mode raids.
Even if they gotta cut out some of them for a smoother story in story mode doing only the last boss ain’t it
i would actually like mounts with wings to flap their wings why dynamic flying, they are always gliding if they flap sometimes that would make it also look really good
finally ive been waiting for this faction war shite to end since Legion but the opposite then happend LOL. So im pleased with that quest text from Alleria. Im down for smaller political fights or faction infights but not this large scale conflict we had with Garrosh nd Sylvanas.
Yep. Mindless clubbing each other over the head endlessly for 'reasons' gets old really fast, story telling wise.
Modern faction tensions= Froggers vs Nonfroggers
The frog nerf is only affecting players that did minimal farming. Frog farmers who farmed millions of bronze have fully upgraded gear and wont feel much of a downgrade despite cloaks being nerfed. Fully upgraded gear is exponentially powerful in this event.
Yeah, they handled this so poorly. 30 mins of farming = **** you.
12 hours of farming = Sure, keep your upgraded gear, why not?

Sadly while I used to agree about having a tension or an all out fight with the other faction...I got to say...after a long day of watching us being absolutely horrible as a race in the real world I really find it refreshing and needed to have that not be a thing in a game that I use to free myself from the real world issues. Just my opinion.

Not just characters, but socieities, need to grow, in good storytelling. Endless conflict between factions that have cooperated and interacted with each other to save the whole world mulitple times is not good storytelling, and not the kind of storytelling we need to see in today's real landscape.
Im just tired of the faction stuff tbh. They have done it already and i don’t trust these new writers to do it good anyways. Also lore wise there’s no reason to do it anyways. Like u KNOW there’s world destroying beings and u want to murder each other? Thats just stupid. Like how many times do the horde and alliance need to work together they realize they NEED each other? I wonder why they don't have servers up for every expansion, and paid service to move a character forward whenever people wants to move. They could have an activity requirement or just a few character slots to limit data storage requirements.

I have had multiple friends swap from Wrath Classic before Cata Classic dropped, and they've found themselves loving m+. Has anyone else seen there classic friends making the swap to retail? Might be another reason those numbers saw a boost

They completely fucked up and hit a lot of non frog farmers FYI. My cloak was only 31k stam and i got hit. Then people with 67k stam are sitting in shrine untouched. THey missed a lot of guilty people and hit a lot of innocent people. Icy veins starting to report the same.
"Broken characters" are supposed to be broken cus thats what they advertised. i havent farmed frogs and my character is busted, one shotting normal raid bosses. So casuals will cry no matter what when they see someone who played this mode alot

I'm guessing Hurricane or whatever their name is did another special cinematic for the release of Cata Classic
they need a thread vendor that you can turn bronze in for threads they could do something like a weekly thread refresh.
I'm just hoping the professions have been at the very least improved. So much of it was locked behind both renown, being pricy, and way to much locked behind max level as well. The quality thing was also not great.
Remix events need to have elite pvp sets if they go forward with newer xpacs.
Faction conflict is dead and only serves as barriers between friends and players, but the peace and still fragile unity doesn't mean we forget who we are or came from. There can still be tensions. It doesn't make sense to keep fighting each other just to stop to fight the existential threat together.

Except there isn’t tensions now, it’s just the story either pretending everything’s fine and BFA never happened or horde on occasion being whipped into being very sorry and made to feel bad for playing Horde instead of the based good and pure alliance who are the main characters now. This is shit way to being down barriers and solve a problem they themselves caused with BFA.

I say good riddance to the old faction split. I'd rather see them embrace smaller sub-factions that can be adjusted through a more robust faction system akin to EverQuest. Do the right things and have your troll earn the good graces of the elves, but quite likely pissing off some others that once tolerated them.
The story mode will be great, just look at what happened with finishing the amirdrassil campaign you had to kill fyrakk which meant if you didn't raid you had to scramble to either find a pug or do an lfr which kinda sucked. Whereas with story mode you could have done that quest much earlier and then continued with the next quest.
All of this is nice... what about those of us who don't like doing instances because we got burned a few too many times with worthless tanks and weak healers?

If they are going to implement a story difficulty for the raids then I think LFR doesnt need to exist imo.
The thing with the frog farming is that some people who were in a group with some frog farmers also got pulled down, I did frogs for like 40 minutes and I got rolled back 🥲

Did they actually nerf anyone's cloak? None of the people I know that frog farmed got any reductions and there's still people with 10 million + health
The majority of power comes from your ilvl because the gems scale with your ilvl, the cloaks were just a cherry on top
I saw a bunch of people with nerfed cloaks when the change went live. They did nerf cloaks, but that isn't a big deal for froggers who already maxed their item levels. Most of their stats come from their gear. They already farmed hundreds of thousands of Bronze and got everything so the nerf doesn't affect them much.
