Have you tried this furler on a boat?. For me,you forgot to connect two halves together ..There must be a kind of link between two parts so upper part will spin but will be connected same time.
I only used it as an example i did put it together as a back up ive made a rigid one out of galvanized pipe i have a 2 part video on that i believe its on my page . Roller furlly rigid around 20 dollars . Thank you for your queation and imput all my DIY videos are on followthebluex.com. peace
Hello excellent video! I tried but can't download any more of your videos. It says that the site can't be reached. I'd like to see how you connect the tubing that the stay would run through & the headsail would connect to. Do you think your system would work on a Mac 25 with a 130% genoa ? Thanks & I'll be looking forward to your reply I hope you were able to make your trip & that it was a success !
This plastic set was designed for up to 25 max also realize this is more of a low impact sailing like a lake . For my vessel I made a rigid one out of metal pipe same exact design that has been tested on a 23 oday out in open ocean waters . I will look into what's up with my channel. Honestly I thought nobody was paying attention so I stopped posting . that will change. Peace
Remember this is a lightweight application. However the only thing that is glued together is the internal pieces the exterior caps are held together with the eye bolts . thank you for the question and watching the video . I'll have more vids coming as I am back on track to attempt my goal . Peace
Yes on a small load boat for my small ocean sailed I used a husky metal pipe version. But for local lakes and light sailing the pic holds great . Peace
You are awesome for remembering . I have not made the journey but I have built a boat corona virus stuff slowed down the progress but I have done some work on my 9'7" boat and will be posting videos of my final test on ocean and hopefully a run from VA. to Fla. By September. Thank you one of the reasons couldn't make my first date was lack of support but the few of you that remember and follow help keep me motivated and on course . Thank you and keep a weather eye out I will make this journey. Peace
When sail pulls out it draws the line in and vise versa ive made mine for my boat but i ised metal pipe instead of pvc . There is another video showing that one
I think you are really an intelligent man and an exceptional sailor. Thank you for sharing.

Very clever, the plastic will not corrode
Hope I can find those pvc caps here in Australia!
I also made a rigid set using metal piping it's what I actually use on my vessel . the plastic is more of a inexpensive lake sailing rig .

Does your sail have Hanks and if so did you do anything to protect from Hank rub wear?
No it doesn't I have a totally unique set up for mine being it's a specialty made boat and size .
If something goes wrong, how do you take it apart?
