Very clean and nice overall sound with Bluetooth connectivity and if needed you can switch over to a cable and continue listening well beyond the battery.
The JBL Synchros E40BT are an on-ear design meaning they sit on your ear instead of completely covering your ear. Overall I would say they are relatively attractive, offering headband adjustment and external control of sound and phone functionality.
The headband, even though made of plastic, is comfortable and puts plenty of pressure on the earpads. It is adjustable to customize the fit to the wearer. I found adjustments to be quick and easy however they did not slip or change sizes while wearing them.
The outside has the JBL Logo in bold letters on each ear and on the head strap. Personally, this is a little excessive for me but looks is not what sound is all about.
On the left earpiece of the JBL Synchros E40BT, you will find the volume controls, a multi-function button, and a special ShareMe connect button.
Sound:
I would describe the sound of the JBL Synchros E40BT as being “Clean and Clear”. Highs are present, there is no “Tinnyness” or ringing. The lows, while not hard hitting, are very present and are clear and distortion free. The mids are full and distortion free as well. Leaving a very true crisp clean sound.
As far as call quality with the JBL Synchros E40BT some people I talked to said I sounded fine while others said that I was a bit muffled. I’m not sure if it has to do with battery level or if there was extra background noise. I will have to investigate some more.
Conclusion:
I, by no means, call myself an audiophile, I do however like to listen to music, and listen to a wide variety. Everything from classical to death metal, gospel to rap, from ambient to techno and everything in between. I expect it all to sound good. Initially, I was turned off on these headphones when listening to techno, and rap because of the lack of booming bass I soon began to appreciate the full sound that was offered by the JBL Synchros E40BT.
There were some downsides to the JBL Synchros E40BT like the charging connector is a 2.5mm plug, not a standard micro USB adapter. Which means I have to carry around another cable to charge my headphones. Also since the connector on the headphones is a 2.5mm jack, then if the battery dies and I still want to listen to music I will need to carry a special adaptor cable along to listen over a cord.
with all of that, I think that I would still recommend them more as entry level headphones that have awesome sound quality over a Bluetooth link.

They are getting better each time I listen to them. I know it's weird but they sound better to me now, 5 months later, than they did when I made the review. Battery life is OK yet giving me a little over 2 days of listen time before I have to charge.

i use them about 2 months ,and be honest i love them .
don't now why every one say them don't have bass , not sure about that /maybe not perfect bud very good quality of sound . my opinion maybe bass not loud but i prefer quality more then just bass bam bam!!!!
I'm with you on that one! I love these headsets, I use them every day at my day job! While the Bass is not overly exaggerated I like how it is all very consistent sound across the entire audible range.
I wanted to get this because these headphones magically appeared one day (I have no idea where they came from) and then I realize, the charging port is like NO OTHER. If I would search through my dads wad of charging ports to find a compatible one I couldnt because JBL had to put the weirdest looking charger on this thing I swear. Anyways I guess ill have to just buy a cord...

This set have a common issue.
The LEFT speaker, at some point, get mute, and you have to open them and re-solder the red (+) and black (-) wires to the LSR (+ and -) points in the board.
I just finished doing that, and they are as good as new.

Noise isolation is pretty good for an on ear headphones. If you want complete isolation look for an over the ear option

+Ce Devii I'm not sure with the jbl sh11 but with the e40bt there isn't a way, you will get a tone telling you that they are low that's about a half hour before they turn off. Other than that there isn't a way.

+Nadia D Honestly I don't know... I haven't tried the Philips, However looking at the specs some noticeable similarities are they both have 40mm drivers.
The philips allows you to connect to multiple devices, and looks to have a standard USB port for charging.
The Philips are also a little cheaper at only $93 here on Amazon amzn.to/25w8QqZ

Not comfortable to my head/ears. Not also great sounding. My Edifier w800 can easily beat it.
I've never tried an edifier w800. I do personally prefer over the ear headphones so yeah I'm sorta in the same boat.
My jbl e40bt sounds good, but the highest volume isn't really loud enough. There arent any sound quality issues, it's just really not that loud enough. Is this normal for e40bt, or thee's a fix for this? I'm using a Samsung Galaxy note 4. The volume of my Sennheiser earphones is really loud. Is my e40bt defective or broken?
I haven't had any issues with sound. However, I have always used them in a quiet office environment.

Martin Pereira I would say the diameter of the ear cups is about 2.5 inches. They are an on the ear style so expect them to press on your ears.

I find them pretty comfortable. I wear them about 8 hours a day at work. The microphone on mine is pretty weak at least when I try and make skype calls. Will it work for a PS4 Probably but I don't know how well.
I really like my set of synchros, however my only complaint is that they aren't as loud as I would like them to be.
Really? Mine get plenty loud. I do notice that if I turn the volume up on the device all the way, then turn up the volume on the headsets they get much louder! if I turn the volume down on the JBL E40BT the battery will last a couple of days.

Sure, just pair it to your phone. The Bluetooth profile has the microphone set up already. So nothing to do other than use it.
Is the bass there though? Like can your ear sense the bass?
Yes, the more I use them the better the bass sounds.
They are still my every day go to headphones. I use them about 8 hours a day 5 days a week.

They could be, it really depends on how you work out. If you're doing a lot of aerobics then this is not the headphones for you, However, if you are walking on the elliptical, riding a stationary bike or walking a treadmill then these are the ones for you.

+Stanislav Horansky Yeah, microphone works well. Remember that it is facing the same direction that you are so if there is a lot of background noise it will be picked up.
Overall in a quiet environment it's good enough to carry on the occasional conversation. I wouldn't make it my primary way of talking to people though.

Are they good working out headphones
Personally, I prefer earbuds while working out. However, these could work if you are doing some more stationary activities like benchpress, or leg press. Things where you're not swinging your head around.
And yes the BASS is good on them.

Negative : you cant listen and charge at the same time, not as comfortable as it should be , both charging cable and device to headphones to device are oddball,,, you will need to get it from JBL ... the generic charging cable works..the headphone to device only 1 channel works...only left side works

ONLY the cables..and the ear cushions should be more padded like the Beats S450.... but the JBLs are a fraction of the price of Beats , but Beats went down in quality

how durable are they?
So far they have been pretty durable, the head strap feels like it could break but it hasn't broken so far.
I've dropped mine from 2 to 3 feet and they haven't broken yet.
So no worries so far!

+Cum Laude Life buttons are only for Bluetooth operation the batteries are rechargeable only through the headphones cable port which would be the same one that you hook up to your iPod if you're listening wired

+CB ColdBurned very clean. Not heavy on the bass or treble, they don't have the plastic resonance that I hear in the others.

Are the volume/play buttons on the left ear of the headphone working for anyone if we connect through wire and not using bluetooth?
I think the wire bypasses all the electronics in the headset. I haven't tried to adjust the volume with the headset since the device is usually in my hand already.

How will i know if my e40bt is charging or is fully charged?
@Benzar Samad if I remember right there is a little LED that blinks while charging. I usually leave it charge all night and use them all day and that works fine.
