Charlton Heston the Most Spectacular, Gigantic, Heroic , Iconic Performer of Great Classical , Historical Character roles ...Remembered and Cherished for All Eternity ❤❤❤
It's not that they don't just make movies like these anymore, it's that they don't have amazing men like Mr. Heston to play the roles anymore. Much respect.
I just cannot forget the roll in which he played as Moses &as a slave in Ten Commandments &Benhur. What a realistic action he played is just cannot forget.
Great actor, and VERY handsome man, but what I appreciate most is his loyalty to his wife and his family. I love his movies. The Ten Commandments, and Ben-Hur are my favorites. May his memory be blessed!
I met him once at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion a week before "Oscar" Monday. He was the President of the Academy This was in 1980s. My mother talked me into taking a free tour of this beautiful building!! I would have never done the tour if not for her cajoling me. I didn't recognize him at first but when he took off his sunglasses, WOW...THOSE BLUE EYES!!! His deep beautiful tan!! And his beautiful white teeth!! He shook my hand thanking me for taking the tour to my chagrin!! Silently hoping my mother would keep quiet about me not wanting to go on the tour to this beyond handsome man shaking my hand!! Although he was a senior citizen by then ,he really caught my attention in those 5 minutes and he was definitely a head turner !! I was a twenty something year old and I have met many actors growing up in Los Angeles yet I am still impressed by Mr Heston's physical appearance and those unusually blue eyes. When I met Tony Curtis on a set , he had the same unusual blue eyes too but Chuck still was more striking!!!
Seeing these wonderful videos about screen actors of a bygone era demonstrates the contrast with today’s movies. Heroic roles and players are pitifully few. Heston, Cooper, Peck, all great actors.
AH !! CEASAR of Hollywood Actors !!! I Never got Bored By His Movies! His Presence was Supreme !!! His Acting Flawless !! He chose His Movies wisely !! They were ALL Hits !!! From, U.K.
How fortunate we are that we have these great films with classic actors like charlton Heston to watch and appreciate what real actors are. They entertain us and when we’ve finished being entertained we’re left with a warm feeling. I’m afraid that no actors these days entertain me the way the older generation of actors did and still do when I watch the old classics.
Wonderful Actor and Great Gentleman. I was lucky enough to see him on stage in Manchester starring inCaine Mutiny Court Martial where he kindly signed his Book for me. He received great reviews for his performance and couple of years later was back on the Stage for the part of Sir Thomas Moore in A Man For All Seasons and afterwardsI was invited to remain in my seat till all other patrons had left. Mr Heston came from his Dressing Room and spent considerable time with My Wife & I chatting about his career, posing for photographs with me and signing many items for my collection. Be many years before a man of such stature will be on Film, Stage, TV etc., and the willingness to spend time with his admiters
as Juda Ben Hurr, this is one of the finest portrayals of a caractor on film. The power, the emotion, the love and the hate is fully expressed. And in the end he found love and peace in the end seane when he sees his mother and sister on the stairs is one of the most emotionally charged endings ever. A true legend.....

A co-worker told me many years ago that when he worked in Los Angeles as a nurse he walked in on Heston (who was a patient) and greeted him with a pointing finger and an ominous "LET MY PEOPLE GO" and had him laughing at his antics, so he definitely had a sense of humor.

I love Heston for another reason entirely: Years on when his old friend and co-star from THE PRESIDENT'S LADY, Susan Hayward was gravely ill, she made an appearance at the Oscar ceremony. Decked out in a magnificent green Nolan Miller gown, red wig, and jewelry, she looked every inch the princess. No one in the audience could have suspected just how ill she was - her wheelchair was offstage in the wings. Heston walked her across the stage, to the enthusiastic applause of the audience. He steadied her and made her look so lovely, in that final appearance. This took a very special kind of generosity and kindness. We would lose him to Alzheimer's. How tragic and, ironic. Lucky we are to have his films to watch and enjoy..

Well done! I grew up watching Mr. Heston and to me he was larger than life. As I grew older my respect and admiration for him grew as he took roles that most other actors wouldn't touch. I support the 2nd Amendment as well, MOL, and CH was neither moronic, nor a gun nutjob. But he did support the 2nd Amendment rights. And Heston was very active in support of US troops all over the world, having visited our men in over a dozen different countries. He also donated his time, free, to narrate many US govt videos. You are a petty little anti-gun nutjob, and I pity you because you will never know how great a man, and actor, Charlton Heston was. When I saw these videos about the old Great Stars of the past, it made my day! I shall be delving into them all when I get time. But I have to comment about my two favourite male actors Charlton H and Gregory Peck. As a teenager CH and GP influenced me in what sort of man I wanted to marry. Qualities of theirs like being quiet but strong, kindness, honesty, guts and handsome of course! I had a picture of Charlton H and his wonderful shoulders, in front of my office desk at my age of 18/19. At that same firm I met my own hero. He was all of those qualities. We married in 1965 and are both in our eighties now. I would not swap him for anyone. He has always made me feel safe in the world and we've been a team. He even has that strong face with the good cheekbones. Me being feisty and him being the strong silent type has made our marriage 'interesting' and we've had plenty of ups and downs and hard knocks to deal with. But my husband is the only man I ever wanted so feel fortunate. This is my own tribute to CH and GP and other great stars like them. CH and GP influenced my decision in husband selection. I'm only glad that my husband chose me too. Thank you lovely Charlton and Gregory, RIP. (I loved Robert Mitcham too btw). So many great film stars in the past, women included. Glad I grew up with them all and I mourn the loss of so many of them.
Fantastic to see this epic movie being made. I can remember going to see it with the friends next door; can never forget it. A great tribute! God Bless
Very touching and ❤️ heartfelt intelligent emotional moments between Mr. Heston and (a dying in Real Life, as on the Screen) Edward G. Robinson, in SOYLENT GREEN!
What a great documentary. Heston is easily one of my very favorite actors. I don't see anyone filling his shoes. The part that covered early live T.V. was very interesting. It was the golden age. T.V. has been crap for a very log time now.
A good actor and a good man. His book An Actor's Life did not sell well, because, as he said, "my life was void of scandal and that's what sells books." He was married to one woman his entire life. He was a very traditional man, a rare breed in Hollywood.
Chuck and Lydia's love story is ONE we all want. With all the temptations they faced in the theatre, tv, and the movies, they remained deeply in love, in wonderment of each other. It hurts to think of the sad ending to their life long love affair. It had to be so hard for Lydia. There is nothing CH did that I didn't enjoy. My kids love Planet of the Apes especially the ending when he finds the Statue of Liberty. Of course BenHur is my favorite CH movie followed closely by Moses. He was an incredible President of the Screen Actor's Guild. He marched for Civil Liberties along side of Dr. Martin Luther King. I can't imagine anyone else that was so large of life who could have filled all his movie roles and his other roles in trying to make life better for everyone. He could have just sat on his haunches, enjoyed his success, as other actors have done but he chose to be INVOLVED, to make our country a better place for every American. We miss you Chuck. You were one of a kind, a true STAR.

One of the best actors ... and an excellent travelmate.
Mr. Heston was a very unique Human Being who Mastered his Faith and Intellect!
