  • Many thanks to Locky from country South Australia for sending in the bat,
    Turns out the dirty grip was him shadow batting with dirty gloves. Either way, it was returned in better condition than sent.

    I do these videos as a hobby and do not get paid to create the videos. The owners of the bats cover the return freight costs of bats sent in and I do not always accept a bat for a variety of reasons, including condition, and do not run a bat repair service as the time it takes to create content is considerable.
    All videos are owned by CricketBatInfo. All views are that of the owner and are based on the in-camera first impression of an individual bat and not a whole range or brand.

    Gray Nicolls stickers have tailed off the last couple of seasons. I checked out the new models for this season and every bat in store in the vapour, supra, nova and delta models have bubbles or the stickers at the bottom of the splice on the backside coming off.

    • @CricketBatInfo
      @CricketBatInfo  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s really disappointing. Surely someone in GN 🇬🇧 needs to get on a plane and visit India and sort this out.

      💯 second that, I’ve been down to the stores that stock grey nicolls in Melbourne and the stickers have been done poorly I asked some of the staff about it and they said it’s normal for grey nicolls stickers to come off near the splice, I don’t understand why they sticker them near the splice if it’s normal they always start coming off.

    The bubbling on lables is common issue on these. Both my Pro Performance Vapour and Vapour 1.3 Players got bubbles on labels.

    • @CricketBatInfo

      That’s pretty ordinary. I tried i fix this one, and it’s impossible.

    Interesting example of this range. The only Alpha I saw this year was a light 4 star and it was much fuller than this. I wonder if the heavier willow is reserved for long handles due their relative scarcity.
    GN in the UK are living off reputation - you tend to see more youngsters with MH and NB (and Chase) in Oxford where I play.

    • @CricketBatInfo
      @CricketBatInfo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s an interesting observation. GN UK no longer manufacture bats. I can imagine in the 70s and 80s they were making locally. Support for local makers is strong it sounds. Here in Australia its the opposite. I’d say GN is very strong locally. Never see MH here.

    You mentioned that the grip was dirty, I personally hate white grips, and they seem to be on a massive percentage of this season's bats. I hope that next season's bats will feature less white grips - red, blue, yellow would be welcomed, even black would be good. What do other viewers think?

    • @CricketBatInfo

      I agree and rather that trimming weight and giving us grips that fall apart, make them durable.

    Incorrect information about the letter engraved on the bat maker being from India. I got 4 bats from UK Gray Nicolls and all had the engraved letters by the specific bat maker.

    • @CricketBatInfo
      @CricketBatInfo  ปีที่แล้ว

      So your saying they do it for every English market bat that is engraved? You don’t think they have engraving in the indian factory? Please provide more information.

    Hi, first time watching your video. It was quite informative.
    just wanted to know, Is there a quality difference between the Aussie ,English and Indian made Gray-Nicolls bats?

    • @randyschwaggins
      @randyschwaggins 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      From my understanding...if you are talking about bats that most of us can buy....even upto what is described as 'players grade'...the simple fact that is that the willow is all from trees in England and sold to a Co like GN by a major willow provider. Then the willow is sent to various factories in England, India and Aus. In England the GN factory will be their own but in India and Aus it could be that the factory is producing bats for different bat companies. For GN though I think the Aus factory is exclusively GN.
      That can lead to the argument that GN bats made in England or Australia may be produced with a better finish and attention to detail than those bats produced in a non-exclusive factory in India.

    • @CricketBatInfo
      @CricketBatInfo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shortblades do swing easier. You have to think about generating bat speed in terms of pickup and swing. Do a search on the internet for the original Mongoose videos Stuart Law did. He explained it perfectly th-cam.com/video/1MJyxAv5n80/w-d-xo.html
