Bought a new camera after yesterday's bad luck . Also I screwed up the name of the park at start of this video , my apologies . Did you see yesterday's video ? th-cam.com/video/0F92T33BlVE/w-d-xo.html
Bummer about the old one from yesterday's video, but I hope you have a new play toy to enjoy at least!
TheDailyWoo nice hair in the intro. Majestic as heck
Glad you got a new cam buddy
TheDailyWoo did you get another G7X or something different?
TheDailyWoo always good to see you man. love all you do.. you are original and one of a kind.. stay the course my man, stay the course..
I'm not sure you still reading your comments tell you my mother loves you she passed away on April 3rd 2018 when she was blind she would listen to your videos because she could see them and they gave her Joy each day to hear your voice as far as what you were doing and when she got her eyesight back she even loved watching you even more thank you for the daily woo
Sorry for your loss Albert . Thanks for the comment and memories of your mother . Glad she found enjoyment in what I do . Means a lot to me
The missile launch site for this location is located on the southeast corner of victory/woodley on an Army reserve site. You can still see the doors where the missiles would have been stored underground.
I really appreciate all the TDWs you've been doing in recent weeks. It's fun hanging with you on your adventures.
twenty thousand acres not 200,000. Great video. What a great history lesson, free to the public. Be safe in your travels
I wonder if this NIKE Missile site had any launch buttons with "Just do it" on it lol...Nice vlog Adam!
Very peaceful place to go and get away from it all for a little while I can tell and also a place to learn a little military history too while you are at it.
I'm noticing a nice influx of the under-the-radar type of content... Very cool to see, and props for not playing it safe!
Agree! Love it!
This vid reminded me of a time when Adam the Woo videos would sometimes consist of abandoned places that were not necessarily freely open to the public. Do miss that type of content.
There's an old abandoned radar station on a mountain right above where I live in Nevada. I have been up there exploring and it's a cool place very similar to this. However, the old buildings are still there and are very decayed and falling in. It also boasts a cell and radio tower.
What I like about you adam you have never changed I have followed a long time the video that attracted me to your channel was joyland. I still go back and watch the old vids . Adam you are the original explorer before all the others who cash in on your idea. I want to say thank you your the first and the best no one comes near to your professional approach to vlogging.........bryan uk. I hope you read this.
It's crazy how this existed and is just not now. Thanks for taking us there Adam!
Beautiful and eerie. Nice that you’re allowed to explore. Glad you didn’t get stung! Thanks for showing us and have a great day Adam!
This was cool and crazy to think about being used. Definitely a good view up there!
It's official.. with your last couple of videos, you are now Huell Howser's replacement that's a good thing. These are truly your own versions of 'California Gold'.
All you have to do is add someone to interview and it becomes California's Woo.
I appreciate you showing the signs so that I can pause the vid and read about the places you vlog. And apparently, for the entirety of my life, I never knew NIKE was the Greek goddess of Victory. So, thanks for inspiring me to find that tidbit of learning, as well!
Good morning Adam ,keep them comming
So glad you took us along, Adam. I did not know this place existed! Unreal!! 👌
LOL!! When you started yelling "Hello", my 10 month old grand daughter answered "Hello" back to you. :D
I had no idea. I love it when you take us to places, that are basically out in the open, but are almost forgotten. Thank you so much.
Adam great video, I worked with a guy that was a Technician for these missile systems, he had some great stories about working on the systems.
When I think of Mulholland Drive, I think of the David Lynch movie starring Naomi Watts! But I live in Oklahoma. Thx for the vlog-this topic fascinates me!
Love abandoned videos! I just posted one from a theater with old neon lights...built in the late 80’s and has a weird SAVED BY THE BELL vibe.
Adam! Thank you so much for the shout out! And awesome video! You're the best!! We hope to see you out there sometime!
I have been there during a work related project. There are several abandoned Nike Missile Sites around the Los Angels hills. Cold War remnants of the good ole days.
I did the hike up to the Hollywood sign the other day! Your video inspired that hike! Amazing views!
Morning Adam, have a great Day!
I think our old pal Jordan did a video on that location a while back. Fascinating place. I miss LA. Wish I still could afford to come down. Maybe someday… Until then, I’ll just watch you guys and live vicariously through your vids!
Yikes bees! 😬🐝 Great vlog today! Quite a view and lots of history!
Getting you exercise in for the day, good for you!
Most people in the Valley below know this place we called it "Dirt Mulholland" since paved is a different road. we use to go up parting up there when I was young. Both sides use to be open. The east entry has houses, the west end you needed a truck. It wasnt restored at all, tagged and gutted, and the sheriff would rarely show up. Almost every thing except the tower is restored. The stairs werent even there, and the top was open with no railing. The "bunker" is new and just for the cell towers.
Adam, you should check out the traveling Jim Henson Exhibition at the Skirball Center in LA, it’s on view until September.
Yes! The old Adamthewoo is back doing abandoned sites!
Adam I have seen some of the other sites and this one is well preserved. Many with more flat hill tops have become fire department helo bases for fire and rescue work or forest work camps some of the Nike missiles were nuclear armed with a small nuclear warhead. These were on mountain tops above Sand Canyon off SR 14 and Acton Ca. I knew people who were assigned to the base before they were retired. They planned on dropping the first stage in areas that were some what developed because a fire in the Angeles Nat Forest would have been worst the one in Acton or canyon county.
Dude that place is amazing. The have nothing like that in Alabama. I will have to add this place to my bucket list when I come to L.A really cool I am glad you found this place
Totally awesome! U have so much to look at were u are, and the views are fantastic! Thanku👍👍👍💖
Thanks Adam for this video. I’m adding this to my family trip next month. We love to check out “free” adventures.
Thanks Adam the woo for always showing us new historic stuff
Very interesting and informative video, Adam! I really enjoyed learning how we were protected as kids back then.
Love the shirt!
No comments on the dog bowl?
My assumption is it was a memorial of sorts. The passing of man's best friend. Probably a hiking buddy. All dogs go to heaven.
Jeepers Delight it made me sad.
Love historical points of interest like that. Really shows how people did things, back then. Especially in our military. Historical things like this, are really cool.
The Florida missile silo is still one of my all time favorite videos so much history sitting around you just need to go find it
I lived near one of these in Washington state. Its a city park and School admin. So they did not have a lot left from when it was an active site. Other then some admin buildings being used by the school district. I think it also has a old helicopter pad too.
Those on either side of the white box next to the guards box are counter weights. The gate arms have been taken off and only the counter weights are left. They counter the weight of the heavy gate arm that would have been attached and blocked the road when they were down. Similar to a railroad crossing boom gate.
Those antennas looked like a gigantic drum set! Rock on!
Darn right. Thumbs Up. When I was a kid in San Pedro we called them golf balls. Suggestion, Fort MacArthur.. Then Ports of Call....
A newer subscriber, just want to say I love the daily content and thanks for giving me plenty of hours to kill time at work while living your past 5 years of traveling on here! It's... The day...Lee...woooooouuuuhhoooo!
Very interesting ! My dad worked on Nike Hercules / Ajax and Hawk Missiles during the Cold war when he was in the Army at White Sands missile range in New Mexico / Fort Bliss TX - Greetings from Germany !
There was an abandoned Nike site in Richmond, Calif. we would hike to in the '80s.
Thanks for the vlog. I would never be able to make the hike there. Interesting that that much stuff is still there.
Vintage Woo!!! Love it...
Kind of a cool place. Nike sites were different from larger Titan sites in that there wasn't actually a battery or silo, rather the missiles would be risen out of the bunker that you saw on track-like system and they would be launched from the surface. There were 265 such sites in the US placed in such a way to guard cities and military installations. Here in MA we had 12 of them. Wikipedia has documented all of them pretty well - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nike_missile_sites
Patrick Prescott thanks for that info. I was wondering where was the underground part!
Cool video...always enjoy these little adventures. Thanks for sharing!!
Cool find and there are probably a lot of people that have no idea that site exists. I'm really enjoying the graphics you use for your shits I really need to head over and pick one up. Thanks for a great share.
I was sure hoping that this one would get extra views. As much as I enjoy your videos of places where normal people go, I sure like the abandoned sites much better.
I wish I could contribute more to the genre of sharing old history of places perhaps forgotten by history but I just cant find the time to edit. Hats of to you, brother. I now fully understand what you meant about needing to take a break while back. If people only knew what all goes into it. I finally managed to throw together a test video to check how it would look uploaded but still haven't found time to record the audio, etc. Again, hats off. Thanks for doing what you do
Quite a bit on the backroads forgotten in time in TN. I wander in my travels when the Interstate bores me or stopped traffic from accidents.
Would watch your videos
Well hopefully I can gather a bit of time here and there and at least finish my first project so that I can start sharing a few things about Tennessee many people either dont know of have forgotten, starting with an old distillery site in my home town that was one the largest in the state yet you never hear about it or the brand due to prohibition successfully shutting them down and they never revived like the famous TN brands today did. Glad to hear you would watch!
Very interesting, and that tower was awesome!
Can you do the Russian adidas missile silo next ?
YAY!! Love the abandoned stuff you explore! Thank you,Sir! But man, that cactus garden looked like no place to poke around.
I would have hated to be the guard posted at that sentry gate, so remotely positioned. Too bad the barracks were removed. That was extremely interesting, Adam. How many people, like you suggested, even know it's there?👍👍
Ahhh my childhood hike! Thank you Adam.
Thanx for all the goodness you bring woo, Disneyland is missing live streams 🤞
Cool video. That kind of stuff is fascinating. Beautiful countryside as well. Living in the Midwest, I can never get enough of seeing those glorious California Mountains. Take care man.
Ive live north of seattle on Nike hill almost my whole life as a kid I thought it was named after the shoes I didnt know I lived next to a decommisioned missile site. The gov still uses the base but no ancient missiles to be found. No seismic equipment was harmed in the making of this vlog.
How’s the RV going? Just watched the vlog where you bought it. I know time has passed since then but I hope it’s all good.
There's probably cougars out there in them thar hills. Very interesting.. had no idea that was up there protecting the city of L.A. at one time. There's a large field of emptied out ammo bunkers in Seal Beach..or Westminster.. if it's still there.. across from LeisureWorld Seal Beach where my mom last lived for many years. Not sure what the info is or if it can be visited.
I’m enjoying these California locations Adam! What an unusual and kinda creepy feel about that place. Nice one! Thank you!🤘🏼👍🏼
Looks like a cool place you can just chill, and do some deep thinking. 🤙
Great video, I like how you go into detail with your videos. love it
I used to ride my motorcycles on Mulholland back in like the late 1970's and early 1980's. Lots of accidents in that area from people going too fast!🚙🚗🚚🚛🚑🚔🚓...
Good good doing a military vlog on D-Day.
This is great stuff Adam, thank you for posting!
Nice view from up there!
Thanks Adam.
Very interesting. Wow Nike made missile's too. Not just a clothing and shoe company? Lol! I love the new ATW shirts especially the one with my favorite Wooism on it, Festooning. I just have to get a new ATW shirt!!!
Hey Adam, How is Your Day today? #NIKE Missile Site! ..i thought they just made Shoes? Adam Remember all the Bee's in the Abandoned Pool too, they are always up there Swarming around. That is a #Majestic View from up there on that platform, You should of brought the Drone with. This is Why i like Watching you're videos you make a location whether old & running or old & abandoned, that No-one would care about & You shine Light on it giving it that spark again. Letting others #WorldWide know about it. This is why God Blessed you, to do what you Love to do. He & You know your Purpose. ( Just my Opinion) i Always will Care with a #ThumbsUp for the Video. #Sidebar: i'm getting that #Hollywoo shirt
Very cool..😎👍
Love the new camera, Adam. Cool vlog...carry on.
Thank you
HI Adam ,Awesome video and location I truly enjoyed it :-)
I was hoping to bring my bow and arrow for some archery practice, good to know. Another very cool video, Adam!!! You're the bees knees, but don't let those bees get near your knees!!!
What a view! Was that view inland, or toward the sea? Wow! I never knew there was a missile site near LA! Those bees were thirsty! I think that tower would make a great house! Have to add an elevator though!
And they say the world is flat I see hills lol great video adam
Those are some Nice Views!
Shall you.....Love the moniker Adam...
Back to the good stuff, nice one Adam! Peace Broheim
Very cool! I think I Justin or Jordan did a vlog from up there.
Happy you got a new camera buddy! I was actually thinking of putting together a gofundme for ya if you didn't! :) Just looking out for you. Hope to see you when you return to St. Cloud! Great historical video brother and Much love! -AL
PS- THAT HOLLYWOO SHIRT IS AWESOME!!! I'm getting it soon!
LOU SKUNT 2.0 Out of respect for Adam and his followers, please watch your language. Thanks!
Haha! Nice trollin' there, keyboard warrior. 👍 You have an awesome day too! 😂😂
Thank you Adam for showing us this video it was very interesting even to me I never knew things like that existed well I did that I’m never seen anything like that I’ve abandoned missile site it was very very educational
All war is kinda cold isn't it? Cool site!
Fantastic place for a residence. Will we be seeing Woo Towers there soon? Is it me or does the monitoring station look like a giant drum kit?
What a cool place and it's really pretty View
Very cool! More live videos Adam, we love them
Cool place with amazing views .
I'm betting the cactus garden also served as a barrier against any one trying to get a closer look. They don't allow anyone inside the complex?
The sign said nothing about bicycles, I don't know if you purchased another one (after destroying the former one on the slide incident) ? But, with your intake of water and your hikes, you must have legs of steel by now. How are your knees ?
(the hike up, I find is always easier than the return journey) The girls from Petticoat Junction would be foiled to learn that water tank was inaccessible. "Foiled" another winning video Mr. Woo
CACTUS garden = a tender and hopeful symbol
Very good vlog,,,most enjoyable
Very cool location Adam 👍
Maybe promote it as a park instead of something that's abandoned? It's a park so they still care about it's value... Great video's! Thumbs up.
