This is the exact teaching experience I was looking for thank you for making this! 😃 You’re so kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable about teaching. Awesome job!
I don’t know what you but it’s the most clear video about blueprints I found so far and with the ease I’m understanding the concepts even though I already knew most of the things in this video I doubt I’ll find someone who’ll be able to explain blueprints any better! Thank you!
You explained it like it was a piece of cake! I was always lost in unreal engine, everyone online was teaching most of the 3D part of the engine easily, but the blueprints part was really hard to understand. The was you explained it made it so easy to understand. Most of the time experts explain things like they are explaining to someone of their level, they fail to explain it to the level of someone below them, but you did that perfectly! You are indeed a real example of a perfect teacher. And, i loved that background music playing through the whole lecture. Thanks a lot.
Thanks so much, Kevin! I picked up UE5 as a hobby and while I have a background in programming, I found the switch to a more visual medium with blueprints to be a bit overwhelming. You're a very empathetic teacher and your excitement for the subject was infectious; I'm looking forward to following all your videos. Thank you!
looking forward to watching more. I've been watching a lot of tutorials that show how to build something out of blueprints, but not explaining what each thing does or why. Helpful, thanks
I have to say, trying to find tutorials online that actually break this all down into easy to understand (not follow along) bite size chunks is hard. But you slowed it all down and explained everything you were doing. Thank you so, so much for your time. Very much appreciated. ❤
And I just got to add to this, I’m not a commenter normally, but after doing this I felt compelled. Your understanding of how steep the learning curve is, and apply your teaching with that in mind is so, so helpful and appreciated. Many out there take for granted the knowledge needed and forget the foundation understanding of the skills and knowledge that you seem to focus on, and deliver at such a welcome pace so well. There are many of us out there who really want to pursue these skills, but don’t have the background to make it easier. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. You’ve no idea how welcome your classes are! Sorry I’ll leave it there! ❤
Hearing the vids are helpful is awesome. So extra thank you for stepping outside your usual zone and taking the time to comment. I'm not some big personality that's entertaining to watch. I"m pretty dry, pretty monotonic, so comments like these help inspire me to keep going and know that this style does land well for some. If you find gaps or there are other vids that would be helpful, let me know by asking questions or dropping comments. That's how I figure out where to focus time (plus voting) as well as figure out if I missed something important in a video to help you all fill in the gaps.
Haha you may consider yourself “dry”. I would say calm. The pace is perfect, for my level anyway and the way I absorb info. I spent weeks trying to find tutorials that are at the pace and level of explanation I need. And I found it! I will of course as I work through your tutorials comment if I feel the need. Thanks so much again.
So glad I found you! Grateful for your sensitivity to those starting out. I didn't think I would like UE until I found out about Blueprints. Then I found your channel. As a long-time dev/eng in UI and Visual Content, it helps to have a knowledgeable guide and a learning spirit even if you know how to code in another environment.
I found the problem, you need to go to the Settings wheel in the upper right of the drop-down menu, and tick the box for "show engine content" under the content section.
It's been a year since this video came out, but the way you explained everything will make me finish the whole playlist for sure. Thanks for getting us acquainted with the Blueprints. PS - Loved the pace!!!
Glad the video helped and the pacing was just your speed. These foundational videos will hopefully apply for a long time and as you go through the rest of the videos let me know know if there are other things you're interested in learning
Hi, I just finished Unreal Sensei's Unreal Engine Beginner tutorial which was focused on creating the environment. It touched a bit on blueprints and I figured that learning more about them would be a good next step in my game dev journey. I found this series today and just finished with this video (Class #1). I feel like I just learned some critical fundamentals thanks your video and I will be eagerly consuming the rest of the series moving forward, every day until I'm done. Thank you so much for putting this together and making it available for free. I really appreciate it!
Beautiful and very easy to follow along! Its extremely difficult to teach a subject you are expert at, and this was very easy to absorb and understand, thank you very much
I've always struggled to learn unreal but this video and the rest in the playlist are definitely going to help me learn. I've never learned things fast and I do hope you keep this teaching style as it helps slow learners and other people like myself.
This is the first video I've watched in this series. I appreciate your teaching style. Previously, I bought a $90 Udemy course that focused on C++. While the title did mention this, I found it challenging as a beginner. Starting from scratch with C++ early on really diminished my motivation. I believe learning Blueprints first is a better approach for beginners. To stay motivated, I started using Zyn nicotine patches, which help me focus longer. However, the buzz can be intense, so I'm looking for products with a milder effect. Thanks a lot for your videos. Been looking for something like this for a long time.
I'm familiar with the logic of programming. I began with Scratch for 5 years before getting interested in taking the next step. 24 minutes in and I'll say that so far you're very good at explaining. You're taking everything slowly, taking the fact that we might be following along into consideration, as well as explaining how to navigate back if we get lost. You seem to both have knowledge in programming but also how to teach it. I'd highly recommend others to watch your tutorial/s. :]
really, why it took so long for me to find this channel,, thank you for your teaching, other channel teaching are really fast paced that i cannot understand and follow, but your teaching are really good like we study in class, keep the good work!
So great to hear that. Always working to make it better so if you think of anything at all that would improve or address gaps, don't hesitate to let me know.
@@livinfreestyle6727I have a question, I’ve spent the last 2 years (2-6hrs/day) learning Blender, Zbrush, Sunstance, UE 5, Photoshop, etc and have utilized free and paid course (Vertex School, Outgang, 3D Tudor etc) learning digital art in my free time. What kind of position or skill could I focus on to get my foot in the door at a Studio?
I would ask, what do you want to do? You are competing against people who love, live and dream about being a game designer, animator, concept artist etc. They know what they want and that's what they are studying hard. One of the things I see a lot is people "aren't quite sure" what they want to do, so you're asking a studio "where do I fit" as opposed to "I want that job" I'd say it's a very rare and special case for the studio to do the work to find a place for you. Now if you are asking what position is the most desirable/difficult to find and potentially best chance of getting in.....lts hard. I'd say creative roles on both tech and art side are highly sought after. For example, anytime someone says they want to be a concept artist at dreamworks....that's like a handful of positions and VERY competitive. So it depends on the studio, size of studio, and what you want to do I'm thinking.
@@livinfreestyle6727 I realize I still have years of practice to even have a chance. Character artist would be my main choice but I enjoy 3d art so much I wouldn’t mind doing environments or texturing. I currently work a full time job but spend 4-6hrs a day 7 days a week learning 3d. I enjoy so many aspects u guess I should focus on character art specifically. I’m afraid that I’m trying to learn everything and need to focus on what I love.

You're welcome. I'm glad you found the vid clear to follow. Thanks for the feedback
Great to hear that the style resonated with you. Thanks for the watch and dropping comments.
Thank you for not being Selfish! THank you for the time you shared !my kids grew up watching your animations...
They did!? Thats kind of fun. Thanks for checking out the channel and dropping comments
Thank you!
Glad I could help, I think you will find the visual version of stuff quite fun and relaxing :) Thanks for watching and taking time to drop feedback!
looking forward to watching more. I've been watching a lot of tutorials that show how to build something out of blueprints, but not explaining what each thing does or why. Helpful, thanks
this is the best tutorial for beginners ever. You should have more views and likes.
Glad you found the tutorial helpful and thanks for dropping comments.
This is the best class on Blueprints.
Thanks for watching and glad you are finding it resonates for you
I have to say, trying to find tutorials online that actually break this all down into easy to understand (not follow along) bite size chunks is hard. But you slowed it all down and explained everything you were doing. Thank you so, so much for your time. Very much appreciated. ❤
you're welcome. Glad it helped and thanks for dropping the comment and the watch!
This is by no doubt the best the best intro to Unreal ever made o. TH-cam
That is a huge compliment. THank you so much and for watching
Appreciate the in-depth look at this. Can't wait to work through this entire class. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I'm really thankful for the whole explanation, there are not enough words to reward your effort
Glad to help out!
Welcome aboard!
I have no emitter. My drop-down says No results check filter.
Can you provide more info? I don't believe we are making emitters in this tutorial?
I found the problem, you need to go to the Settings wheel in the upper right of the drop-down menu, and tick the box for "show engine content" under the content section.
@@sam5345 Thanks
@@sam5345 thanks man
@@sam5345 I also had this problem, thank you
man, this was an awesome first video for Unreal's blueprints, I can not wait to go through all the tutorial
welcome to the channel and thx for watchin!
I like how you balance teaching the subject not too beginner friendly and not too hard
That's great to hear. Thanks for watching
You're welcome and thanks for watching. I'll be curious when you are done how you felt it all went. All feedback welcome
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you! I will continue with the series of lessons and will support!
Awesome! Glad it's clicking for you.
Beautiful and very easy to follow along! Its extremely difficult to teach a subject you are expert at, and this was very easy to absorb and understand, thank you very much
Thank for the sub, watching and dropping comments!
This is the best video I've seen so far explaining Unreals tools.
such awesome feedback. Glad you find it so
Wow, just discovered this channel, great job dude.. I'm finishing my tech-art portfolio atm, this is the perfect channel for that. Thanks a lot!
Welcome aboard!
By very far one of the best content about unreal visual scripting. God bless you! Cheers from Brazil.
Muito obrigado!
Incredible tutorial!, you're one of the best teacher i'v seen online. Ty.
Wow, thanks!
This is incredibly good instruction ... a master class in teaching itself!
Wow, thank you for the high praise! I am stoked you found the style works for you.
I've always struggled to learn unreal but this video and the rest in the playlist are definitely going to help me learn. I've never learned things fast and I do hope you keep this teaching style as it helps slow learners and other people like myself.
glad the style works for you!
This channel is so underrated. Great content with a great teacher. Thank you!
Thanks for letting me know and for watching!
I’m glad the videos are helpful.
you should buy the udemy courses when they're on sale. they have sales often. instead of buying it at full price
Hey Kevin, good you did that tutorial for us. You know people like to learn about such stuff. Many thanks to you and your efforts into it.
No problem and thanks for watching
I'm familiar with the logic of programming. I began with Scratch for 5 years before getting interested in taking the next step. 24 minutes in and I'll say that so far you're very good at explaining. You're taking everything slowly, taking the fact that we might be following along into consideration, as well as explaining how to navigate back if we get lost. You seem to both have knowledge in programming but also how to teach it. I'd highly recommend others to watch your tutorial/s. :]
Thanks for taking time to share that feedback. Im glad the teaching style resonates with you. Welcome to the channel!
really, why it took so long for me to find this channel,, thank you for your teaching, other channel teaching are really fast paced that i cannot understand and follow, but your teaching are really good like we study in class, keep the good work!
Ill do my best!
Amazing video man! going through the entire playlist.
Thanks for watching them all!
I have watched and bought courses on blueprints for unreal. This class is by far the best one i have seen. Thank you for your content!!!
It can be fun learning everything though :)
The course is clear and easy to understand. I think it is the best tutorial I have ever seen.
wow, what amazing feedback. Glad the style landed so well. Thx for watching and dropping feedback
Incredibly well thought out first tutorial, and a thoughtful delivery. Thank you. Personally, I really like the background music!
Thank you for the feedback! I have gotten better about audio levels as the channel has matured. THanks for the watch and dropping feedback
This is by far the best and truly beginner friendly tutorial I've found! Thank you so very much for devoting the time and effort to teach. It's well appreciated. You are right, UE is very intimidating. I come from a Davinci Resolve/fusion editing background and I still find it hard to learn. THANKS AGAIN!
You are welcome. Thanks for the watch!
This is so helpful, thank you! Even with some programming background, this helps me make the transition from pure code to visual format.
That's awesome that even with some XP you still find it helpful
I am so grateful for this series and even more so for its ready availability. Thank you so much!
You're so welcome!
Thank you very much! I just started to understand your teaching compared the other channels. The way you explain the lesson is obvious and I don't need to rewind back. Already subscribed! and really appreciated it! Your are truly teacher.
glad the style clicks for you and thx for the sub
just in case if someone lost the Outliner and Details on the right side, you can find both on the top left inside the "Window" tab. Had to figure it out myself, anyway thanks Kevin, i´m glad I've found your Tutorials, very comprehensive and relaxing learning.
THanks for helping out Empara. Glad the vids are chill
I SWEAR U R REAAAALLY AMAZING.. THE METHOD OF YOUR EXPLANATION IS PRETTY GOOD ❤❤❤❤
Glad you like the class!
Just finished this video. Loving the videos so far. Cant wait to watch more. Very informative, good pace, even with someone as me with some experience can still run back the basics and learn new things I didnt even know. Thanks for the great work!
That's good news. If you find stuff that seems you're missing, just let me know
Another great work!!!! Weldone Professor!
again, thank you for watching
As a 3D artist (with shitty scripting or coding skills of any kind) i was really scare to get into unreal's scripts
this helps so much and made it so much less intimidating. Thank you so much
You're welcome! Visual scripting is kinda fun and accessible for full artists too.
Thanks for making this tutorial! It was very helpful and I'm looking forward to the next ones in the series. This was perfect for me, as I have a fundamental knowledge of traditional coding in C, Python, etc. Using a visual blueprint seemed awkward and your video is a great introduction in making the transition. Great job!
Thanks for the feedback and so glad to hear it was helpful. Based on your background it sounds like the latest Blueprint Interface Meta Tutorial might also be a good one too: th-cam.com/users/liveoTST9didni4?si=iO4o_Lh4QyLtwqfI&t=196
That link skips straight to where I actually turned the Mic on 😅
Thanks for watching and if there's other stuff you'd like to cover don't hesitate to chime in
OMG don't know what to say.. you are just amazing.. thank you so much for create a very good tutorial!
Wow! Thank you. More coming, just finished the next class and I think that will be live Sunday
i love how this class is setup and beginner friendly
Great to hear!
Thanks you so much, this is GOLD
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching !
After hours of searching i have finally found a good video about the topic, thank you!
You are welcome and of course, let me know what kinds of other stuff you are missing and looking to learn
i was about to quit unreal engine and go to unity or godot till I saw your video. Thank you so much and you are a life saver.
Glad to help out
Really great. Thank you very much. This helped me to start with blueprints and also very much with starting in Unreal in general. Never used it before.
Glad it helped!
My home studio team is switching to unreal and I sent this to all of them. Thank you sir!
That's great to hear. Hit me with ideas/gaps along the way
The best blueprint toturial I watched so far ❤
what an amazing compliment. Thank you
I found this video incredibly helpful-thank you so much for providing such detailed information! I have a small request: it would be amazing if you could share insights about the game and film industries, like how to get started as a complete fresher and how to thrive without being replaced. Thanks once again for your valuable content
That's sort of what the Dev Thoughts series might go into, but I'll keep this in mind
my first lecture and i am already too excited
Welcome to the channel!
this video popped up out of nowhere into my feed(and thanks the youtube algorithm) I can follow along this massively helpful tutorials. I hope you bring in a whole lot of scripting stuff in future videos.
glad this was helpful., there is a whole playlist for visual scripting. th-cam.com/play/PL2A3wMhmbeAq3WOT7kQ0EGby1YMb0zj5_.html

Thank you very much for your time man, loved how you explained things and the whole calming vibe you gave me 😁
You're welcome. Glad the style works for you and thanks for letting me know
Started your class today. Love your pace and explanation of details. See ya in the next vids!
Welcome to the channel!
Great class/topic.
I just ran into your channel as I was looking for a blueprint tutorial. I understand the concept of using blueprint, but not how the functionality brings it together.
I don't have any prior knowledge of scripting/coding and have been looking for a good-paced tutorial to explain things in and out, and I think I found one.
Thanks for the lesson, I'll be continuing through to the end of the course.
Thanks for the feedback. If there are any videos you feel like might help along the way, let me know and we can add those. Also don't forget to check out the "live" section for our weekly live tutorials
very good course for starters
glad it resonates. Thanks for watching.
Very good tutorial I needed this for my mods im making. Thank you🙏
Glad I could help
Hey mate, Found your class after trying a few other beginner tutorials on UE5. Demonstrated great at a good pace to keep up with. How long have you been working in visual scripting?
It’s sort of fuzzy. Specifically visual unreal scripting approx 10 years, but I had worked with node graphs for programs like shake and nuke and was also a software engineer in a previous life. Which is why I said fuzzy. Glad you found the pace matched your style.
Am saying this with my ❤, i can't thank u in words. U really saving me a lot of money with this. The level of knowledge is way better then paid ones. Thank u. Especially Waiting for cinematics with ue. ❤❤
Hope you find the others helpful as well. Thanks for watching!
Oh my god!! just found this and it's amazing man! Immediately subscribed

I have been watching hours and hours of tutorials and feel like I still dont understand what it is that they ask me to do. This is exactly what I was looking for.
