DON'T CUT OFF YOUR HONDA CT125 HEEL SHIFTER! Modify it like this and get it out of the way instead!

One of the wackiest, but cool features on the 2021 Honda CT125/Trail 125 is the heel shifter. I had no idea why this was needed on this bike when I got it, but after riding it a few times, I absolutely LOVE IT! I use it on almost every upshift when I'm sitting down, it's just so quick and easy to find it's become second nature to flick my heel down to upshift on this bike.
The problem is that it is kind of in the way if you have wide feet. It intrudes on your footspace and shoulders your feet halfway off the pegs, which isn't good for technical trail riding as you want a solid foothold on the pegs. Most people's solution is to cut it off, which I think is a bit of an extreme solution, so I wanted to figure out if I could "tuck it in a bit", and I did just that.
