Beautiful effect Jay. Why not clean the ripped piece before hand (soak in alcohol or microwave it to death) or make it from a color photo copy? If making a photocopy printing it on rice paper might be a easy way to clean up.

Well that is all, i think And of course, thank you so much for those magics!
Instead of putting the torn dollar bill piece in your mouth, you could hold it up to your nose and smell it, and that will still give a very good visual of that torn piece as separate from the bill. Taste is mostly smell anyway.

Lloyd Mobley Jr. I think this rule is global, not only for the U.S. However, a magician in my country give a solution for this, make a fake money, but only for magic purpose.
In the UK, Instead of performing this with a borrowed bill, you can perform it with your own bill and make sure the duplicate piece is a perfect match.

You can't do this in Canada because the bills are plastic and virtually untearable.
