My god do I love Kyborg. The whole party is fantastic, but Gum Gum and Kyborg just have my whole heart. The abject chaos those two create is on a whole other level.
I'm so glad no one was like "but if you're attacking a prone character the attackers get advantage on their rolls". Really would have ruined the mood (though would have also made their resulting failed rolls all the sweeter and funnier!).
@@clothar23no he didn't. He might've said it in the full podcast, but it's a short. You can take a minute to listen to it again. He doesn't say it in the short. It's fine though, and isn't very easy to show with clarity for their dice rolling. Besides, we're just hear for a good laugh and a good time. I would like to say though, nobody seems to mention the disengage action. Where he wouldn't take any attacks of opportunity and just could've left. That could've been a good moment to bring in the choosing to backflip for no reason and then fumbling the roll there. Still pretty funny and a little more rules accurate.
It's like the stars wars throne room scene: "Okay so a royal guard swings his sword on Rey while her back is turned." *Rey rolls and gets a D20* *Guard rolls and gets D1* The scene: "Whoops the guards sword just disappears from his hands and reys kills him."
You know in the 1st edition of the game, being prone actually gave enemies a bonus to hit you. Attacking from behind gave +2 and attacking a stunned, prone, or otherwise motionless opponent gave +4 And then if you were restrained like magically sleeping or had hold person cast on you, all attacks automatically hit you and dealt max damage. And if there were no other enemies subject to affecting you in the combat, you just automatically killed the target. Also the attacker got twice as many attack routines, so you’re basically dead in this instance over in 1e. Kyborg here would be lucky to survive. Then again the attempt to backflip away and failing the roll to do so probably also wouldn’t happen in 1e
I just imagine while the guy is faceplanted, the slimes try to jump on him only for the first one to jump OVER him, the second to jump face first into the first one, and the third to jump over his arm and roll away sadly, all while he is nervous laughing from the adrenaline of falling his tactical backflip this badly.
I don't want to be picky. I am a fairly new DM and have a genuine question: Wouldn't the blobs gave advantage, because their target is prone? Anyway: hilarious situation. 😂 i love these puppets ❤
I don't know the rules because i don't play, but that advantage either doesn't apply to attacks of opportunity or 12 was literally the highest any of them rolled, even with advantage.
I'm just imagining this as a cartoon-like scene where it zooms in on kyborg every time he dodges but it's all weird and funny poses while he's laughing hysterically into the dirt
I remember being a rouge, who was meeting some guy in the middle of the night, I rolled a nat 28, stealthfully swing from tree to tree. After the conversation, I rolled to backflip away - I ended up falling on my back, awkwardly crawling backwards into the night. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wish I heard it more from games I PLAY in or DM. I'm not trying to kill the sorc with a giant but you're not helping by trying to stay in melee so no AoO.
He rolled so bad, the blobs got 2nd hand performance anxiety and ended up missing.
Secret intimidation check
"C'mon i cant mess this sh*t up as bad as that"
Nah, he messed up so bad that the blobs were too busy laughing their asses off to hit him properly 💀
They thought it had to be a trap.
He faceplanted so deep into that moss that it made him hard get to.
Only in DnD can you dip, duck, and dodge effectively enough to evade all damage whilst face down in the dirt.
I mean, in pokemon moves can miss while the target is either asleep or frozen, sooo...

With 18, 11 and 1 it should've been a flawless backflip into an slightly shaky one and then a third where he eats it lol
