  • “#Whoosh!” New #DEEPPURPLE album is here and Mr #DONAIREY himself was so nice to take his time to talk to yours truly BARBARA CASERTA @ LINEA ROCK via Skype on July 24th 2020 about its making in Nashville (to please both the fans and the band itself, which could become a trap in a such long solid career), producer Bob Ezrin putting the "Deep" back into "Purple", the classic DP days & #JonLord thru his eyes, creativity, how being trained as classical musician in a family of musicians influenced his life, how the hired gun figure has changed since he very first started, working with Gary Moore plus…. Has the project of his book moved on during quarantine? How does he envision the after pandemic in music? Has the whole DP line up a say preparing a tour setlist? Is there any particular song he now plays on a autopilot? How long will this “Long Goodbye Tour” be?
I feel so honored and blessed by this chance… Thanks Mr Airey!

What an absolute legend Don is. He seems to have been there for so many iconic rock moments and just such a laid back and humble guy. He has a seat amongst the greatest keyboard players. Loved Colosseum II. Great interview

50 Deep facets in this Purple jewel. Each facet is a year to be treasured. This is my first time hearing Don in an interview. I watched the interview with Steve not too long ago. Wow!😉

Barbara, I think you look a bit like Roger Glover in the early 70's. Kind of have his eyes. Aren't you related? (lol) Great, great interview! Insightful questions and Don's convesation is always entertaining and interesting to hear, with plenty of funny stories! Loved it to bits! Cheers!

I agree with the French - Play more new songs, skip everything before 1996.
