      California here
      We grew better weed when it was illegal. Now every idiot, (like me), is growing their own.
      I don't try to sell mine but others do and just imagine some moron not knowing the dif between a good THC weed and a strong CBD weed.
      There you are smoking an oz. you just bought and wondering, "WTF?" and it's 50/50 on whether they're going to care or not.
      That's mostly why I've started growing my own; if it's gonna suck, I'd rather spend the $$$ learning to do it right and that's what I love about this vid.
      I haven't run into the "hay smell" weed too often but that's not to say I haven't done that ever. Like 20%~ of what I've grown so far has had that smell so this taught me a valuable lesson.
      Two thumbs up!

    Why are there so many crybabies in the comments? This dude obviously knows what he is doing. To me, it makes total sense. You basically split up the workload of trimming by plucking leafes before harvest. If you don't do it, you have to trim all at once. This definitely is helpful if you're alone with a lot of plants👍🏼

You kept a log on feedings, waterings, and any mishaps ?, you would know if you need to harvest, soil is different from coco mix so if not in soil or hydro, youll need to flush your plant by running water until you get clear clean water and no more feeding, this usually happens week 8 prior to 9. i like your idea of starting the trim a week before harvest, even for small batch growers. I feel like the stress of live trimming might also increase terp production, as its the plants natural defense mechanism.

    • @jeanponce2017
      @jeanponce2017 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It will kick in the Terpene production but what I have noticed is the Terpenes it kicks out after a heavily defoliating usually smell like fuel or a chemical smell. I think the plant believes it's being devoured so it "skunks" itself but in a bad fuel smelling way with plant esters so it doesn't smell or taste good to what ever was trying to eat at it. But the THC percentage shot through the roof. For as pungent it was, it was a hit with friends and even some other growers because of the punch it packed. I think the plants produced an ester which only few plants can produce with strong effects on their own.

      Its all good bro, learn and do better next season. Maybe do a little research for strains and considering your local climate get some new genetics. Try some that arent as likely to mold on you until you develop a good system to keep the rot out of the more susceptible strains. Good luck! Dont give up!

    I thought it was still too early.
    Try his technique on half of he plant. I believe you will seen the uncut half has bigger buds.. The leaves supply energy, food to the plant.
    Also, just try taking the hard hard bud only. In a week to ten days harvest again, only the hard buds. And again if wanted or needed. You will end up with much more good hard bud per plant.

    Let your plants finish. The leaves turn gorgeous colors when its done. Then by that time a lot of leaves should have died and fallen off or taken off. Let them use up the reserves and finish if you can. Just my opinion. I'm only a newbie. 6 years outdoor Southern Oregon.

    The wounds heal before you harvest. So no air is sucked into the plant while drying. I seal the stalk when I hot glue them up. Moisture can escape without being replaced by air in the capillaries. Slower dry time, and denser buds.

    I’m in central Canada where October can be wet and cold. I do the same here. Reduces humidity issues, leaves collecting water causing sagging to ground and as stated prep for drying easier as most big fan leaves gone.

    Great video boss, luv the energy, positive vibration ya mon. I was watching a YT video the other day, some strain hunters and their amazing time in Jamaica, and they showed lbs and lbs being dried, hanging upside down, drenched in sugar and fan leaves, so many the flowers were not visible. I am sure that way works great for them, many blessings Rastafari, but for me, I always trim this way you are showing before harvesting, less risk of PM, hidden bugs, speeds dry time and more...
