tried well , but not upto the mark. some information wrong, like in mitochondria super oxides are generated due to either excess electron availability e.g increased ratio of nadh/nad+ or less atp generation e.g hypoxia, or decreased availability of adp etc.and causing oxidative damage..but normally little amount of electron can reduced 0.1- upto 4%oxigen can reduced to superoxide, but can be detoxify by sod and coQ.

rajib sarker Yeah., we can measure ros in our body by the urine test or by the blood product i.e. plasma and serum which can give us positive test of the damaging effect of ros in our body. In cellular level, ROS can be accessed from tissue culture.
rajib sarker, Yes we measure ROS in our body by using a machine from Nuskin, Pharmanex S3 Scanner, which measures the oxidative stress (ROS) in you skin, which correlates to the blood in your body.
I think glutathione peroxidase is a decent marker. Measure the relation between oxidised and reduced glutathion. That gives a decent idea of the ROS status of the body.

What condition (ie combo of carbs/fats) causes large amounts of superoxides and especially hydroxyls to be generated in people with Metabolic Syndrome?
Good explanation. How can neurons be protected against ROS in neurodegenerative diseases? Infact how do normal neurons survive ROS which are inevitably created in the brain? Do anxitoxidants even penetrate the BBB?
Vitamin E. Vitamin E is the collective name for the derivatives of tocopherol and tocotrienol; α-tocopherol is the standard form for medical use. It is a lipid-soluble antioxidant and its lipid solubility allows it to cross the blood-brain barrier and exert its effects in cell membranes.

It’s a interesting question but I honestly don’t know a good answer... even exercising generates low amount of ROS and charge up bodies antioxidants system.... but it’s a very much hand waving answer
Yes, ROS are important mediators of cell signalling - low levels of ROS induce adaptive phenotypes such as cell hypertrophy in cardiocytes (heart cells) in response to low blood pressure, thus increasing blood pressure, and proliferation in smooth muscle (an adaptive mechanism in response to injury - but this mechanism can be hijacked in cancers to uncontrolled proliferation). ROS appear to be essential for JAK/STAT pathway activation in response to mitogens such as angiotensin. Lots of really interesting papers on this subject!
ROS is also important for preventing infection - NADPH oxidase converts oxygen to superoxide, which is known as an 'oxidative burst' - that is used to kill invading pathogens at the site of infection.
@@jamieshiels2465 completely forgot about this thing....yup macrophages use Reactive oxygen and nitrogen species to kill pathogens, made a video about it and later i forgot.....thanks for reminding. th-cam.com/video/8iATqJANWrw/w-d-xo.html
