  • This week has been extremely busy, and hectic. We dyno’d the 427 and stuck it down in my Nova to begin TRACK TESTING and tuning it for drivability. Someone is going to LOVE having this engine in their car or truck!
Check out the dyno numbers and see how it sounds in this video on OMG!

Mr Bill I saw the community post on here and I felt I had to say.... please never feel pressured to have video uploaded on any certain day / time. All the good folks here understand that we are lucky to be along for the ride with yall and that good videos take time. I always say quality > quantity and you sir have nailed that concept. Thank you so much for the free entertainment. Yall are the best. Hope to shake your hand one day sir. All love from south eastern PA. THE BEST FAMILY / GARAGE ON TH-cam!!! 🤘🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💚💚

@southernslipping4225 it's really not the same at all. When you have a job you get paid (most of the time) hourly and thats that, with youtube he gets paid once a month based on views and time spent watching so the better a video performs the better he gets paid. So if a video is a day or 2 "late" most of the time it's going to help him financially.

@@BIGFESH now if your a small youtuber you will have to wait a month to get paid because it takes awhile for views but his channel is big and he gets his views pretty quick so there fore he gets paid quicker

I love that you guys hired bob. He's like family and his knowledge of engines is pure genius. Just the way he handles the dyno is like slight of hand. This engine giveaway is worth more than the part put into it because of bob handling it. You know it's broken in properly and tuned with your help to perfection. I've never wanted a giveaway so badly. ❤

That sound of that 427 sbc is the true meaning of power and the sport drag racing. For the blue collar workers that work hard everyday to take care of there families, that could only hope and dream of building an engine like this. I think what your doing is amazing Bill👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Bill you an Vicki have done a great job raising them. That 427 is really stout. Some engines just run better than others with the same parts and setup it's what keeps us gearheads interested. I LOVE seeing that perfect Nova cruising the streets again, and that fresh saw cut concrete in the new shop.
And that my Stocker is no longer gathering dust up against a wall of my garage after an 18 month project 1 of your New Years videos sparked off, and it is all your fault. 2 Div. 7 races are in the books here (and long story short, not usually my forte, which runs toward writing a novel instead), but the scene of the crime is my first Div. Double back in the later life comeback after a 26 year layoff from bracket /class racing (last raced the car at Phoenix in 1997, class race loss by inches so Class Finalist in GF/SA), and having won my first Wally in the Div. 6/7 Firestone/Centerline Oct. 1984 Bracket Finals (250 car count in Heavy Bracket 3 in my 63 Polara 500), in the right lane at Famoso in Bakersfield, CA on my oldest Son's 9th B.D....and nearly 40 yrs later, back at Famoso, racing against the same Car/Driver as the Feb. 1997 last class race, same place, same lane (Mr. McConnell, in his 83 "Slo Roller" Dodge Omni, he is 550lbs lighter than my 84 Dodge Daytona "Slow Ride, Take it easy" both now in EF/S, same slow index, and Div. 7 race 2 of the double header, Saturday 12:35 PM, just another Oct. Saturday on the re-debuf come back home tour late in life, and tree comes down in our one and done race for the class Wally....I leave it is green, I am out past the 60' and look in the rear view to see if his light is green, as he is not to my left, and not only see 2 green bulbs, but I see his car a car and a half back in the rear view (he is dead late, or he relaxed thinking he has me covered easily....I have yet to show him what it is really capable of, though Thurs. He showed 16.95 and 16.85), and slam my head around against the drivers side window, eyes glued to his right front bumper (forget the tach, I will shift it based on my pulling away), and as I inch forward I shift 1-2, he pulls a few inches up, and I start pulling away again, shift 2-3, and nearing the end I peeked at the finish line, lift, slide the brake pedal down a bit and allow him to close within 1/2 a car, still not showing what my car is capable of (class racing in Div. 7 will be earlier next year, don't show)....I just won my first Class Wally in the first week back on the late in life tour...scaled and fuel test legal. My 17.206 to his 16.956 (the holeshot of holeshots!) And my tattletale tach told my my shift points for round 1, I again dial 17.20, shift the same, good by 17.243 w/ .032 light, Will Kelly was dialed 11.32, ran and broke out 11.225. .051 light. (BTW, who lifts and hits the brakes in a run for the Wally heads up final? I do....lol.
Before bed, I watched the entire live stream replay of all stk passes, the majority of runs were .030 lights or slower w/ a known handful hammering for double zero/teens, and I know who those are, so my mission race 2, relax to .030 lights, squeeze the butt cheeks if needed later against the known light stealers, and top end dance well.
I love a happy ending, his .427 dead late light to my .032 safe green to win that Wally (Saturdays 3 passes were all safe .033 in Q1, .032 in Class Final, and my winning .033 Win in Rnd 1 against a G/SA Cuda Cuda Q at -775 under his 12 flat index (pushed him a full 10th out), while good by 4 hundredths plus), made for a great day...my fun ended on Sunday morning though in round 2 against Jimmy DeFrank's AA/SA 9.97 dial, via a too tight -.005 on the wrong side of the tree, just like my 1st round did on Friday against Chad Langdon's G/SA -.036 (Chad was a mentor in 1983 who first told me as a bracket racer I needed to start racing Stk Elim. with my light skills). His fault I ever attempt class racing at all.
On top of my comeback, I also crewed again on Scott McClays C/ED Comp. Elim. Entry again at the same time, like back in April at the Vegas 4 wides (Just he and I Thursday/Friday....It was pure struggle bus since it is a 4 man operation to be competitive, but Saturday/Sunday 2 more crew showed up, and w/ a 4 person crew we won the 2nd race of the double header!
A great first Divisional outing at the first races back, I'm having a blast, and my online tech card completed last night for the last Div. 7 race at Vegas completed for Nov. 2-5 in Las Vegas!
A Wally is in the mail to me, I raced on Sunday, took out 1 heavy fast hitter (Will Kelly), faced Langdon and DeFrank (came up short red on those 2, but both are quite capable of double to triple zeroes and teens, so no harm, all foul trying to slam the door shut early)...switching from flood lights to LED trees will take some time, I realize that. Instant on bulbs is very different.
TY again Old Man Bill, for the 2nd chance late life run (at 66 yrs. Old), is all your fault! And I am going to enjoy every minute of it! Oh, and the car, if driven the same each pass, is within thousandths on the incrementals and consistent as can be for a slow roller! Whoooooohooooooo, 90 percent plus of Stock racing is just a pure fun bracket race!
I am older now, I am wiser now, I still have it together, and I love playing top end games against a lot faster company. I will load up and carry away a few trees in the future in my slow hatchback, but for now, I am going to safely just cut good lights, and test a lot of my competitors patience. And I hope they all pull wheels up biiiiig wheelies, as I love watching them in my rear view mirror!

Bro ….. really …. A entire book to tell us you barely broke into the 18,s …. I don’t care what light you cut on a 17.80 pass it should have been good you could have let go of the break 1 full second before the bulb light and still not have red lite … Like I’m happy for you and I’m glad you are back at it in your commuter car but that was a lot to tell us you started bracket racing your car again and hit your dial in after 40 years of not racing. I completely believe your story because no one would lie about a time like that . Good luck 👍

I have a cool refresh for ya. I bought a 78 delta88 that we drove around in the late 90s early 2000s, was my best friends. When I got it the car sat since about 05, and I got it 2021. Got it running again the best I could, but has low oil pressure so it's been sitting for over a year now. Lack of knowledge and funds. It's a 2 door with a wild paint job, 455 built, told about 500hp, and has a tci turbo 400 transmission ford 9in and mark Williams axels. She's a cool custom car that should be out and enjoyed. It catches eyes from the she looks and sounds.

Hey Bill! I've been a member of your TH-cam channel since the beginning, love your videos!
I just wanted to say, something to remember when going from gas to e95, you have about a 38% increase in fuel volume in the intake manifold intake runners in the heads, causing a decrease in air volume, this hurting a little air flow, which in turn will loose a little hp up at higher rpms where air flow is crucial. That's why peak hp numbers will drop in rpm

Another great one. The new shop looks great. Man I wish I could afford to build a 427 just like that one for my 67 Nova. Oh well maybe I'll get lucky and win that one. I won't get my hopes up though. I don't think I've ever won anything in my life and if I have it wasn't anything memorable. Thats one thing I have never had. Luck is never played much part in my life. Don't get me wrong the Good Lord has given me a beautiful family, a home, a decent job and enough money to own my 67 Nova. Just not quite enough to make it what I want it to be. That would be a hot little driver that I still go the grocery store in. The gutless 350 will have to work for now. Thanks for all the great entertainment SRC family. It's amazing how far yall have come in the past few yrs. Yalls talent at making videos and editing them absolutely amazes me. @ErikHyndmanto You can't be serious. So in your world if you have a heart attack you can't have CDLs? You can't be very smart if you actually think that. Some scary dumbass people out there .

I'll say it again. What you guys are doing for Uncle Bob is so wonderful. And dang man, I sure hope i can afford to enter your "giveaway" when it happens. What a dream car. I don't race though. I would customice interrior and clean it up a lot more and take it to car shows. I have never had something very nice. I just keep buying crappy trucks for my business because I don't want to scratch up a nice truck. I don't even own a car yet.

First I would like to say Thanks Bill for the excellent content. I look forward to each video. When you were talking about Bob's health I was thinking what if you guys could find a couple of young apprentice's with the work ethic and passion to work with Bob so he could teach the next generation all he knows about the machine shop. Would be a shame for all his knowledge to end with him. Maybe new graduates from the local trade school. Something to consider. Thanks again.
