For that seam sealing,I just use sylacone out of a tube and smear it on the outside of the tent/tarp only. Works great ,lasts longer. Ive had it on mine for 16 years. Still no leaks. Con: slightly heavier. Hope to see u guys back on the trail soon.

Hey, how would you rate the stability in strong winds? I‘m thinking of taking it to the Scottish islands.
    Thanks,
    Chris

I don’t have direct experience in high winds with the dipole. DCF does well in wind, as you might expect from something designed for high end sails, and in the Triplex it was usually the stakes I was worried about. The triplex has similar high walls, but the dipole has the flat ends for the vents, and I’m unsure how that would play in strong wind. Moe Berg commented on this video that he had used it in driving rain and 40mph winds. Having watched some wild camping videos in Scotland and seeing the high winds and exposure on the hills, I’d be a bit leery of depending on these types of tents. My typical camping typically allows me to choose sites that can use the lee of trees or hills.

Just realized that your comment was on the Yama video. Sorry. The Yama handles wind really well because of how the walls are sloped and also the number of stakes that are used to hold it down. I would take it out confidently into high wind and rain. It also has done well with hail, but snow does gather in spots and needs to be cleared.
