Thank you - purchased my Bernina 770QE E mid-Covid last July. It was shipped to me from my out of town Bernina dealer. Alas no Bernina dealers near me! Have relied on you-tube tutorials to educate me. Glad I found your videos - showing the mistakes as you go along helps so much!
So happy to hear that. Glad my video was able to help you use the needle threader. Don’t feel bad you’re not the only person who struggled with using it.
Thank you so much. I finally gave up on the official Bernina video, which I might add, did not help me one bit. Your video is the best! Two tries and got it!! Thanks!!
Thank you so much!!! I’ve done it after 10 years with my Bernina machine))) I never bothered about this tool!! It seems too complicated 😅But today I decided to do it, you helped me so much 🎉Thank you! Since childhood I was doing my creations and it’s never stop, always creating 😊
Thank's for this! My wife has bought a second-hand machine today, and we were struggling with the threader. After watching your video, we realised that the hook was not coming through the eye. I popped the little threader unit off it's shaft, and under a magnifying glass could see a small ball of thread around the hook which was stopping it going through the eye. I carefully removed it, and following your excellent tutorial, everything worked great. Liked. :o)
Your video is the only one that I have had success with when trying to use my needle threader. I have had my machine 2 yrs and just now figured it out. So helpful! Thanks.
Oh my goodness...and I thought that I was the only one who couldn’t use the threader! Thank you Cody and Pete. I had my Bernina B480 for over a year and just couldn’t for the life of me get the hang of this. After watching your video..I’ve got it!!!! Spent all day practicing and getting very excited that I can do it now! I also remembered the instructor in my intro class note that the B480 has a thread cutter on the right hand side that ‘holds’ the thread while it is being threaded...very helpful. She said that would also make it a bit easier...and she was correct on that part. Thanks for sharing.
Yes some of the machines ( new 5 and 4 series) have a thread cutter under the throat of the machine. That DOES make it so much easier. :) So Happy my video helped you out. :)
FINALLY, I get it - and it's easy! Thank-you!! What a struggle it has been to find instructions that are clear! Now I love this feature, thanks to you.
Wish I had seen this before watching the "official" video! I just had to buy a new threader for my new machine. I now understand what I did wrong, which made the spring pop! Thanks! Will definitely check out your other videos when I need some guidance!!
I’ve struggled all day trying to get the semi automatic needle threader to work for me on my new BERNINA This video showed me what I was doing wrong. Thanks!!
This is the very first time it worked for me, first time! That was such a great video - short and sweet but now I know what I’ve been doing wrong! Thank you x
I have been struggling with the needle threader on my 380. Sometimes I could get it to work and sometimes not. These tips made all the difference! Thank you so much for this! 🥰
@@sewingwithcodyandpete8651 I appreciate all the tips you offer. Don’t take it for granted we already know. We may be acquainted with one tip and then not know 5. I’m sure most to all appreciate the reminders and knowledge. So appreciate all you do to keep us sewing.
Thank you so much. This was really helpful. I watched another video about threading up these machines and the video rushed through this last bit. This was video was really detailed and clear. Perfect.
Thank you....... I was taking the thread in the wrong direction and have been frustrated for weeks lol. I am really enjoying your videos. Thanks again🇨🇦Jane
Cody -- I have been able to use my needle threader just fine -- but not exactly the way you showed it in this video -- until I got my new 590. I just followed the instructions you gave and it worked perfectly on the 590. The way I was doing it worked on the 780 and the 440; strange. In any case, thank you for the detailed instruction because I was really thinking I was CRAZY for a while there!
It's crazy how some machine that look almost identical rect slightly different. Yes the 590 does thread just a little different from your 780 and 440. Glad you have mastered using the needle thread. :)
After you pull the thread through the slot and it clicks under the little hook, you can actually just let go of the thread and then slowly release the lever. I’ve always wondered why and how the threaders get damaged. That’s good info on why not hold that thread tight.
You are my hero! I’m a new Bernina user and I didn’t understand all the nuances of the 97D foot ... AND I had no idea what the small metal piece was - the guide!!!! Suggestion ... another video on 97 showed me that I needed to engage the dual feed thing on the back ... I was using the standard attachment and didn’t connect the dual feed to the foot. 🤦♀️ Thank you for this video
Thank you to for tutoring of the auto threader. I have Bernia 435 machine and find this so difficult to do. Will keep practising. When will you be doing a tutoring on the Bernia 435. Thank you Eileen.
Great videos!!! Keep them coming please. I have a problem with my bernina 770QE. The thread is forever popping out from the last thread guide next to the needle...no matter what I do, I can’t prevent it. Anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?
Well done! Thank you! 😁🤗😘😍I wish the ladies who gave the "Free" class to those who purchased their Bernina machines from Life's A Stitch in De Pere, Wisconsin knew about and watched this video before trying to teach a class on using this machine. So sorry that I wasted my day off with them.😫😡😢
I am sorry your store isn't able to provide you with all the help you should be getting. But this is alway why I create these videos is so all the BERNINA customers worldwide can benefit it also makes the brand I love so much stronger. So happy I am able to help. :)
I lower my presser foot so that the tension discs close up over the thread. That keeps tension on the thread so that I don't keep pulling out extra thread if I have to make a few attempts at this.
Hi Cody, Your videos are some of the best. Is there a minimum needle size that the needle threader will work with? Somewhere on the internet someone was saying an 80/12 is the minimum for Bernina's. Is this correct?
I am glad you enjoy my videos. So the smallest needle the works perfectly with the needle threader is the 75/11. The 70/10 is when you will start having issues using it. 😀. Good question.
I have a Bernina 570 QE with 5.5 stitch width. If I wanted to upgrade which machines would I consider at a reasonable price. Can't afford $10,000!!! And don't want a 9 mm machine. Many thanks.
Your options are very limited. There is only one true option that is the BERNINA 535. The 535 has the larger bobbin, it has about an inch longer throat space than your 575, has an auto thread cutter and in embroidery if you were interested has slightly larger hoop but does have access to the free-arm in embroidery. There are some newer stitches in the 535 that the 575 5mm machine doesn't have but the 570 probably has more stitches. All of the other machines above this machine are all 9mm stitch width machines. So my advice is to stick with your current 575QE. If you have any more questions I will be super happy to answer them. :)
@@sewingwithcodyandpete8651 Thank you so much. Are you saying that ALL machines are now having the 9 mm. stitch width. I had a 730 years ago and hated it because I felt like it worked against me trying to do piecing accurately for a quilt. Is there any big plus now to the 9 mm that the old ones didn't have.
I didn't read ALL the comments to see if this was mentioned, but if you press the NEEDLE DOWN button (and it goes down) and then press it AGAIN (so it goes up), then the needle is in the correct position to use the threader. Otherwise, the needle could be too high or too low for the tiny hook to go through the eye. If you position it manually, turn the wheel so it is all the way UP. Also, the presser foot should be DOWN if you don't remove it while threading the needle.
Holy smokes...I needed this video! I loved how closely you zoomed in. I no longer feel frustrated and have threaded my needle. Thank you!
I had struggled and given up on my threader. After viewing your video on the first attempt I was successful. Thank you so much.
Finally! Thank you! I had tried hundreds of times without success. Watched your video a couple of times and everything clicked :-)
I am so happy to hear that. So glad my video helped you. :)

I have avoided my needle threader for the longest time… I was holding the thread to tight at the end! You saved me!!!!💙💙💙
This is by far the best and clearest explanation I've seen/heard. A real sanity saver.
So happy to hear that 🥰. Glad it was helpful.
Very clear directions and photo angles!! Best tutorials around
I’m a very happy woman. After watching this I have finally managed, for the first time, to thread my 720 with the needle threader 😺 Thank you.

WOW! That was the best help ever on using the needle threader. Thank You!
So happy it was able to help you. So many people struggle at first with the needle threader, you are not alone.
Thank you for that simple way to thread! With your instructions I did it the first time!

Totally helpful! Thank you for this. Also for pointing out what not to do, as well as what to do.
WOW...thank you soooo much! This is the best demo for threading the needle!
Game changer! Got my Bernina recently and have been struggling with this. Watched your video twice and bingo - I can do this now! Thank you so much 🙏😊
So Happy to hear that you have mastered the needle threader. :)
So much more helpful than the tutorial from
Bernina. Thank you!
So happy it was helpful. :)
I watched several videos on how to thread this and was still struggling. I watched yours and it worked perfect the 1st time! Thank you!!
I’m so happy my video was the one that did the trick!! 😀. Hopefully no more fussing with it. 😊
Dude, thank you. I couldn’t figure out the diagram for this in my Bernina’s instruction manual.
So glad my video could help you 😀😀
I just found you! Great videos! Thank you Cody And Pete👏👏💕
Wonderful. Thank you. Hope you find the videos helpful.
Dear Cody, thank you so much for your excellent advice and explanation.
Excellent video, thank you for the tip about the hooks for threading the needle. ❤
You are so welcome. So happy it helped. :)
I have been struggling with the needle threader on my 380. Sometimes I could get it to work and sometimes not. These tips made all the difference! Thank you so much for this! 🥰
With out knowing those tips yes it makes it difficult to get the needle threaded every time. So happy my video was able to help 😀

How helpful! I’ve been doing this wrong since I bought this Bernina. 🎉Threading using the threader makes sense now. Thanks!
I couldn't get it until I watched you do it !!! Thank you !!!
I just got a new machine and I was struggling with this. Thank you for this tutorial. Now I can get on with my life😂😂👍🏻
Jo Beacham exactly the same here - well actually only 4 days ago but yes, definitely struggling. This has helped a lot.
Thank you for the tutorial!
So Happy I could help. :)

So glad I was able to help. You will love your bernina the possibilities are endless of what you can do. :)
Cody, you are a lifesaver!
Helpful video, everything is visible and well explained. I wish you had threaded into the upper guide above the needle, next to the sewing light!
That's really helpful! Thank you!
I haven’t been able to use the needle threader. One try and it worked.
It has been such a hit and miss. Idk about the grove on right side. That may help. I saw it pop when in the grove. Thank you for helping.
Great tutorial - so easy to follow. Hopefully my love/hate relationship with my needle threader will now stay at love! 😂
Hope you are still loving your needle threader. :)
OMG it finally worked. Thank you so much.
Thank you to for tutoring of the auto threader. I have Bernia 435 machine and find this so difficult to do.
Will keep practising.
When will you be doing a tutoring on the Bernia 435. Thank you Eileen.

Fingers crossed I can master this after 2 years of trying
Great demonstration
Thanks so much... how do you put the stuff back on that you took off??? I don't know how! But thank you!
Thank you Cody. My upper thread comes out of both guides while sewing. Any suggestions as to what I may be doing to cause this?

Sure, they look cool. But in reality, the threaders are a hit and miss proposition at best. Good luck!
Thank you!!!!
