It’s sad but here’s my theory of why the animations are now this way ever since flash was gone they had to use different kind of animation I suggest that they drew the animations and added them in to the game via making the animations smoother and the stick figures don’t have jagged limbs
I'm pretty sure it's because there were longer/shorter animations to most characters and they wanted to make them more simplistic (most characters having a set attack speed) for instance the swordwrath used to have an attack where they charged up their swing and hit from the side which took forever to do as well as a kick which was a bit faster than the base attack Spearton shield bashing was another quicker attack as well as their headbutt What I was mostly pissed at was that the AI dont throw their spears anymore and in saga you can't do it in general it's litterally one of the things that makes them consistent and partly why they're so good without it they're just glorified damage sponges who attack like they want to be killed
I like the first intro a lot, because it already conveys that feeling of fighting in a war for peace, but the second is a reinvention of the original game in all aspects, in graphics, gameplay, and legacy, that's why I like the second intro more.

I think overall including everything stick war legacy is the better game since it’s more modern. Has improved graphics and smoother animations and more content but I played stick war 1 today and it was pretty annoying since miners were really expensive but was still fun despite being so old.
