I wanted to say thank you. I found this video a little over a year ago when I barely knew anything about computers. Little did I know that this video made me choose the career path I am currently on. Thank you for making a helpful video with making my first build and helping to kick start my IT career.
As someone that has been building PCs for nearly 25 years, I love that this very clear walk through exists for first timers. It gives enough detail for anyone building a PC for first time to be able to complete this task and enjoy the process as well. Kudos, good sir!
Joel M i agree. Most of these videos are over in around 20-25 mins which is way to short and could cause people to get frustrated and lose track if where they are.
Ok you seem like an experienced person in building gaming PCs, I am looking to build my first pc and I’m still very confused on what parts to buy and what all of the part names mean and also where I should look to buy things. I would really appreciate some advice, thanks.
@@imstillapieceofgarbage6293 That entirely depends on what your primary goal is. Gaming at the highest FPS possible (ignoring price)? Gaming at very good FPS levels while keep the price down? Workstation applications (3D rendering, code compiling, etc)? Until that is answered, it isn't realistic to give you any direction to go.
This comment is long overdue, you helped me learn how to build a computer almost 2 years ago, I couldn't afford anything fancy but I built me a med tier computer and it was a hell of a ride learning and building it, the way computers work is so interesting and i loved all the stuff i learned through my journey.. The only frustrating part was hooking up some of those smaller wires with the little 1 needle pins to my motherboard but i eventually got it after some research. Thank you for the well detailed guide, you're a great teacher. lol

Hey Kyle, I know this is an old video so you're probably not checking the comments, but I built my first PC today using this guide. It helped me a lot, and saved me a load of stress trying to figure out what the IO shield was for, where the cables were supposed to go, and what to look for at various points throughout the build. I hope you know how much you've helped first-time builders like myself. Cheers.

@@relapsing6894 Its gonna be so much easier than you think! Use the motherboard instructions, and this video and you got it.. Magnetic screwdriver, and thermal paste are a must!
Boardbot Definitely agree with @Overly Committed. I just built my first rig yesterday. Some things I noticed while working on it, the amount of pressure needed to close the hatch on the cpu will surprise you. I had a terrible fear of breaking something and had to watch like 7 videos to make sure I did it right and give me confidence to put some force into it and close it. Secondly, I spent probably an hour and a half looking at the wrong section of the cpu cooler installation manual. Dark Rock 4 from be quiet! has a giant unfolding guide and very small text in the corners that I overlooked. When something doesn’t line up, you’re doing something wrong. Finally, building a pc really is easy. I was super hesitant to order the parts for months and I regret not beginning sooner. You’ll find a lot of helpful people in the pc world that will give help if you ask. Also I can’t explain the feeling when you close the case, plug the power in and everything starts up. I was jumping around like a kid in a candy store. 10/10 would build again.
Watched a build tutorial about 2 months ago because I was gonna build a PC. Now I have all the parts and I'm rewatching this quick to refresh all I've learned about PC's in the past few months.

I checked quite a few comments to this video when I stumbled upon it but didn't find anything. So just in case it isn't mentioned yet: To install the boxed Wraith cooler onto the Ryzen 5 CPU you actually have to uninstall the AM4 mounting brackets as well, as opposed to what Kyle said in the video.

Thank you for this video it helped me so much! Normally i don't react to video's but people need to now that this video is really helpfull!
Thank you thank you thank you! I officially built my PC, and it wasn't complicated at all. The only thing that can get a little sketchy is that damn CPU cooler, (look up TH-cam videos to install your specific cooler), but other than that, it took me roughly 2 hours from start to finish. Man, I'm so happy lol I wish all of you guys good luck!!!!

You're an absolute savior. I'm building a Aorus B450 MB with a 3TB barracuda and Samsung SSD. 5 RGB fans, and I couldn't tell you how I would have done it without this. Thank you. Seriously. I'll send over a pic when it's finished for you to judge it for me. ☺️
Really helpful video but one huge PITA that almost all PC youtubers do is that they install the CPU cooler BEFORE they do any of the connections. You should really install the CPU Cooler last as it will save you a tonne of trouble while connecting all the CPU fan headers and the CPU power cable and even RAM. It will also make some of the hard to reach screws on the motherboard standoffs easy to tighten.
'Sorry if this video isn't as polished as usual' - Haha, Ive built 2 pcs, one for me and one for my sister, about 3 years between each build and I used this video both times, and it seems many others also hold this video as sacred when building. Great stuff!
