Probably my fave video series on TH-cam now. The work you're doing on this car would put a lot of other bodyshops to shame, and it's not even your day job! I have 1 request, can you list the music tracks as it's bloody good.
i have watched nearly all of this e24 project. Im blown away by the quality of work that im seeing before my very eyes. Ryan you are the man. The tallent and quality is second to none. Since the start i have seen 4 e24 in your garage along with other awesome cars. You guys are the people to see if you want a car bringing back to life. I will defo be watching more even after this project.
@gemeinwie10YT I been there my friend, I paid well above the odds for a full restoration and the car came back in worst shape than it went in. I had to spend a couple months snagging the entire job and by the end of it. The paint finish developed micro blisters in some areas and pinholes across the entire surface which most likely came from solvent pop. To say I was pissed would be an understatement. They want to redo it but I'm tempted to just get my money back and take it somewhere else. A lot of garages will promise you the world but never deliver. It's rather sad tbh
Some lovely, intricate work there. Listening to relaxing music as you work is the perfect antidote to TV restoration shows, often featuring fake jeopardy and staged arguments. Brilliant video- thank you.
Matt Armstrong, they only person who would buy a 90% rust car and having it restored .... personally a new bodyshell would have been better.. you do an amazing job Ryan..... patience of a saint i say
Love your videos It’s so good to watch someone that’s great at there job, thousands and thousands of hours of mastering your craft. Keep putting the videos up , we will keep watching 🙏🙏
Sooooo much work involved in this. Incredible. Must be satisfying....even if it must feel that you've needed to replace more car than there actually is left!
Mat's E24 and the Cosmo are my favorite car porn videos! The true craftsmanship, real metal working, and attention to detail are very refreshing in these days of "just fill it with Bondo" I restore early Mustang's her in California and we generally do not have this kind of rust repair. Keep up the great work!! Real craftsmanship here!!
Great update i hope you remember everywhere that is taked on that you have to go back and fully weld, i do hope MA comes along soon and gives you a shout out for all the amazing work you have done
Hello 👋 good buddy Ryan and Steve I have sure been looking forward to seeing this, it's getting cooler here to Ryan I have a fire going in the fireplace won't be long until winter, right now a lot of leaves falling and not my time of the year tbh because I have so many leaves were I live..Ryan man that is a beautiful job you did around the back taillights extremely good job buddy..everytime I watch the episodes it makes me wish 🤞 I was over there helping you guys out I'd work for free just to hang out with you all..hope you all have a extremely good work week ahead take care and God bless 🙌 you all..
I don’t do any car restoration stuff like you but I work on boats a bit, I had to make an acrylic lid for a transducer box where I could only get one hand and forearm through the access hatch after watching this series I used the paper template trick and it worked perfectly all of the mounting holes lined up perfectly so thank you for the insight 👍
I must say you have a real artistic talent taking projects on like that pile of rust. The detail and time is just relentless. Should have scrapped it. But you have proven otherwise by all means. Great work absolutely amazing workmanship.
I'm sure you've used these before, but I find the "foam" discs far more efficient to strip paint and they don't damage the panel surface. Even the Action ones (you get them for £3 for 3 pieces) work great.
Excellent. How to pay attention to the little details of your handcrafted repair panels and ensure they fit exactly. You deal with this every day in your workshop and also have the necessary tools, such as a bending bench or beading press. But those who do it themselves don't have these practical things. But he could somehow manage it that way if he had the skill and knowledge. In any case, it's always nice to see how the BMW E24 becomes what it used to be. A really nice vehicle that will hopefully be as old again. Keep up the good work with your projects.
What an amazing labour of love this project is. When this is finally finished, will you be able to state how many hours of labour have gone in to the project plus the cost of materials. I suspect the final product will look fantastic, but the costs of the project will never be re-couped. I would love for you to prove me wrong!
ive watched every episode of this car being rebuilt and im amazed in every episode how you do this, definitely a skill I do now posses and im very envious , ill be sad when this project is over !
I bet you had to make a fair few mistakes to get to where you are, great you’ve had your dad to guide you👍🏻👍🏻 love the music you use I’ve made a playlist to chill out too, not bad for a 64year old 😂
So things I get from this, you lot actually give a shit about what you do, Matt gets a perfect restoration and you get the best advertising opportunity with the potential to get some amazing projects fuelling personal growth. If I get the money to re do my mini I’ll be on the phone as the last guys to work on it have retired.
Is there any original metalwork left 😂 the workmanship is incredible 👍 hope you’re keeping a log of the hours you’ve spend on this Swiss cheese of a motor! keep up the great work!
Guys just noticed i have been watching you 4 months and not subscribed sorry boyz your work is 1st class father and son as well unstoppable subd and liked!!
Absolutely love these videos and am always blown away by the quality of the work and attention to detail you guys maintain. Looking forward to seeing the end result and Matt's reaction! One thing, how old are these videos? I noticed the orange Opel Manta in the back ground, wasn't this car completed a few week back?
Love the work you are doing on this car. I just wonder why you fabricate all the pieces yourself, instead of just buying replacement sheet metal? I save a lot of time and work, don't you think? keep up the good work! Love seeing this content!!
There is no doubt of the quality of your work. I just can’t understand how this would be worth the cost of this work. You’ve basically rebuilt every panel of this car by hand. For car that is worth what 20 Grand. Your work must be double that at least.
I do understand that there is a lot to be done on this car, but could you please either release longer video formats or post more frequent videos (not once a week)? Thank you
When this car is finished, I'd like to see the total number of hours put into it, multiplied by Yorkshire's standard hourly rate. Gotta be the world's most expensive E24.
Can’t believe how much rust is on that car considering it’s not really that old and was it’s an expensive car when it came out ! It’s repairable obviously but sheesh …! Good job he has you guys on it it’s gonna be nice when it’s done 👍
Sometimes it’s Not about money, it’s just having what you want and enjoy, wether it’s economical or Not. Probably the car will never be worth what it costs to restore it. But if it’s what makes you happy who cares 👍
I’ve found watching this whole series very therapeutic. Thank you.

Theres hardly no bodyshops that can do or will do what youre doing. Absolutely amazing work. I love it! I could watch this work all day long.
There is a lot of Bodyshops that are able to or will do what is done here, the problem is that you wont be able to pay for it.

will mat come and see the beautiful work that has been done to it anytime soon?

You think matt pays for that?
@@mementomori4972he paid 5 grand or summit
Pretty sure matt was given the car and Ryan has taken it on to build his channel
@@ashleymapes3926 sure someone had matts pants down with it ya no
As an Aussie I get very concerned when a Yorkshireman says "A bit cold this morning" haha
Getting there Ryan, slowly but surely. 👍
Love your videos

Been watching all of Matt’s videos waiting to see him shoutout or even mention the MAMMOTH job you guys are doing on this E24, but alas….
You’ve made major progress on this hope mat finishes it and gives you the car
Watching a true craftsman at work is a Sunday evening pleasure, you guys are legit amazing.
Quality work and attention to details is top level
That corner piece was just b e a utiful
Matt’s BMW is testing Ryan’s skill in metal origami
The Matt Armstrong rust bucket from hell.! 😂
90% rust helt together with a few bits of solidish metal
So much work!
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again “PERFECTION”👍😉💪
How to create a Beemer by welding together lots of tiny bits! Amazing attention to detail Ryan, well done.
A huge light bar across the back would look amazing! Give it an updated futuristic look
Sooooo much work involved in this. Incredible. Must be satisfying....even if it must feel that you've needed to replace more car than there actually is left!
Hard to believe you’ve been at it more than 5 months! Much respect.
Don’t normally comment, just wanted to say thanks for your content. Peace and Blessings to you and your Family.

Again Ryan, fabulous fabrication skills.
Those intricate corners are so time consuming, but have come out really well.
You have improved so much over a short period of time and to think you do this as a side job

Fantastic job. You have basically built a new chassis. Well done
The work you do is really impressive. please continue to make this videos.
A pleasure to watch, as always. Nothing to add to my previous comments - just keeping the algorithm ticking over. Best wishes.

You’re doing an awesome job, from my very novice eyes.
I keep see the red Audi Quattro in the background; incredible vehicle!! Just saying…..
I’ve been watching this guy remake an entire BMW E24 from scratch 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤷♂️🤜🏾💯🙌🔥

I am in awe of the extraordinary work you are doing on this car. Well done guys I know it is going to look amazing when completed ;-)
What skill and a pleasure to watch 👌🏼👏🏼
How long do you leave metal a bare metal, does or not start rusting from moisture in the atmosphere pretty quickly?
Amazing work as always

I’m loving the welding without the mask 😂
Was that a piece of train track on bench being used as a dolly?
Was it under the sea for a couple of years? It has more new metal than the original
Love the work you are doing on this car.
I just wonder why you fabricate all the pieces yourself, instead of just buying replacement sheet metal? I save a lot of time and work, don't you think?

Sorry no. This car is done free in our own time, thats all the free time we have, thank you for watching.
Just out of curiosity how far do you think you are? Is this car getting blasted?
Great work. 👍👍👍👍😊

How much fabrication experience do you have? Love from South Africa 🫡
Looking good ❤ class repairs
Never seen a hand made beemer before.
Thanks for the video.
How many hours would you say youve put into the car so far ?
That car was a proper 🍋
How much is all this welding and fabrication costing for this car?
what thicness patch panels do you use?
Awsome, Ryan, awsome. 😊
Like the music, what Playlist artist. Keep up the awesome content 👌🏻 from south Africa.
I really hope this car makes it to SEMA

I'm thinking he could have bought a 6 series executive in far better condition for not much more than what he paid for that
So, is this work ( Art ) based on time plus materials ? , because I have no idea how this could be quoted . Awesome Talents .
Sometimes it’s Not about money, it’s just having what you want and enjoy, wether it’s economical or Not. Probably the car will never be worth what it costs to restore it. But if it’s what makes you happy who cares 👍
@@df9834 Agree 100% , I am just curious .
Mat Armstrong doesn't deserve this car
I'm a panel beater and i would never grind so much off it makes it to thin and rot easy
