Great regs used for the last 5 year home and travel. I got for son as 10 when started to dive and I liked then too so got some for myself. Just love them
Well Dennis, I'm not sure how to respond LOL, but thank you for the kind words. When I started the channel, I said I would just talk to you folks, like I would to any of my friends about Scuba subjects. Now, my wife says if I was rich, I wouldn't have to be pretty (handsome). Thanks for taking time to comment ! Bob C
Thanks for the great video Bob! I’m thinking to buy my first reg set, the Helix Pro, but then this one has braided hose, it makes me consider this one. What would you recommend? I love braided hose but that leaves me with only this one and the Legend series which I think would be an overkill for me…. Or the XL4, or XTX-50/200. I dive mainly warm water, recreationally, nothing below 65 degrees… should I stick to the basic or go big…. But open to the idea of sidemount one day, although less likely. what should I get 😂 The more options I see the more confused I become. But definitely getting either Aqualung/Apeks. Thanks for reading!
I do like the Helix Pro (you can always swap out the rubber hose for braided, $35 or so) The XL4 is pretty cool and also a good unit. If you can reach for the XTX50 that would be my choice. Yea, pretty easy to get over-loaded with info. Just remember that enviro sealing is not just for cold water applications, but not required. Dirty and salty water also play into having a environmental seal. The Braided hose is way more flexible than rubber, but not required. (Techies) I'm sure would chime in here and say go rubber and yes if you're caving or such, rubber is tougher. Last, having a turreted 1st stage is also desirable but not required. So this all takes me back to the Helix Pro, but it's your bank account and you know what fits your budget. Regards Bob C
@@DiversSupplyYTthanks for the reply Bob! Appreciate you! In that case, what is the difference between the xtx50 and xtx200? I’ve heard many saying that there’s barely any difference between the two. But yeah I like the idea of the turreted first stage.
Hey bob I’m trying to decide what regulator to buy for a first one. My bcd is the aqualung axiom. I live in Florida i dive mostly in warm water. I was wondering if you thought this was a good one compared to the apex xt50
Hey Christian, Thanks for the question. I'll stick with the subject of your consideration, is it worth the money absolutely. Are there less expensive regs out there that are good, yes of course. What makes it so good, first and foremost is reliability. That's why Techie Divers love it. Remember what we do is not Bowling. It having the excellent enviro seal , even though you're not diving cold water, the seal still helps to reduce internal corrosion from salt water. The turret, makes using it more comfortable too. It's adjustability and great breathing characteristics make it what it is $$ wise. Is the Mikron bad, of course not, would I personally push my bank account for the XTX-50 ? Yes sir I would. Regards Bob C
Hi. I am looking for a good regulator for a PADI Advance open water. I have doubts between the Cressi MC8, the aqualung Mikron, APEKS XL4 or the APEKS XT40. which do you prefer?
Hello Guillermo, In general these are all pretty good mid level regs. For me the compact 2nd stage is not high on my list of importance because I always use a molded mouthpiece, so I'm not "biting or clamping" to keep the reg in my mouth. Yes I know the comfo bite MP's are there, but after you use a really good molded MP you'll understand where I'm coming from... I also tend to go with the enviro sealed 1st stages, turrets if available, braided hoses (that some divers hate) and prefer fully adjustable 2nd stages. Sorry I know I just pushed the price point up, but you're asking... From the models you listed, guess I'd go with the XL4 Ocea. Sorry if this is a somewhat mixed answer, but I'd spend less on a BC and more on a Regulator any day. Hope this helps. Regards Bob C
Bob, ought this mikron reg + octo from Divers Supply over the 4th of July sales in 2023!❤ are these purchaes qualified for Aqualung's free part life time warranty?
Ive been diving the mikron since 2021. I love how compact it is, and how well it breathes at depth.
The Mikron tends to get very good reviews and has a great price tag too. Thanks for your comment ! Bob C
I just picked-up a Mikron. I cannot wait to get it wet! Thanks for taking time to make this informative video!
Cool Handle ! Thanks for watching and commenting.. Regards Bob C

Just love them
That is awesome! Thanks Ian Bob C
I've had the mikron since 2015 great basic reg to fly with
Excellent regulator... Nice and compact
I have the micron kit and I am very pleased with it. I have 8 dives on it and it performs very smoothly.
My son dives the Mikron unit and enjoys it. He also dives the XTX200..
One of the best, comfiest regs ive used. Also below 4 celsius. Loved it
Thanks for your comment ! Bob C
Love the way you explain things! Lots of knowledge instead of a marketing pretty face.. not that you face isn’t pretty! Keep up the good work!

The only issue with the xt50 is more money but seems like a great regulator
