- Francesco Quinn (Platoon) stars as Daniel Morel!, a half-breed Marine officer who returns to the Amazon village of his birth to visit his dying chieftain father. What he finds is his beloved homeland ravaged by omnipotent industrial corporations, its rainforests seriously endangered by the reckless hunt for resources. When his father and native villagers are killed for resisting the land developers, Daniel assumes his tribesman's colors and wages an all-out war against a corporation and its ruthless representative, Colonel Whytaker (Brian Dennehy, star of Best Seller, First Blood, Cocoon). Desperately trying to stop Daniel, Whytaker sends for a secret weapon: Sergeant Iron (boxing champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler), Daniel's old instructor and the deadliest of soldiers. In the end, Daniel, Whytaker and Sergeant Iron square off in a take-no-prisoners fight-to-the-finish for the jungle home Daniel must save.

Here in my country traditional life style was simple & education was nonexistent.
My great grandparents knew that looking after land is important. So anything that was unfamiliar to them was always considered a threat in many situations but more importantly the natural habitat.
My great grandparents never attended school but knew many things by heart like land.
Because the land provided everything, food, shelter, & water.
When Europeans discovered Papua New Guinea, Australia settled here and introduced civilisation but never used violence to force us the traditional people to modernise PNG.
Australia came with a calm approach & granted independence to PNG.
Unlike many other countries, we had a peaceful colonialism.

Today, Australia is helping in many ways & the country is slowly moving towards better modernisation & urbanisation.
Unlike what the movie is portraying, we were never forced out by Australia.

Just loved this movie. I'm part Indian even though I'm boricua, n part white n black. But I believe in my soul that Indians were n are good people, they had to protect themselves from people who wanted to steal their properties n women n gold,,hungry for gold n Indians belongings,.Puerto Rico had saino Indians, n spaniels n white people took everything they work for, including women,

Francesco Quinn was Indio and he his the son of Anthony Quinn and this was his Rambo performance he died in 2011, and this movie was great I still remember the Newspapers showing the movie at movie Theaters. and I remember cutting the poster and keeping it from the Newspaper.

I saw the trailer in cinema back in 89 and just considered it a Rambo rip-off. I just watched the movie for the first time and realize it's not. Great movie based on reality.
In these kind of movies, the good guy magically installs field traps in only few hours, traps that actually need at least two days to be installed.

Great movie
Avoided watching this for years, out of fear it would be low budget, crap action, and Mavin Hagler's acting would be terrible. Well, it's sort of low-budget, but it's definitely not crap, and Hagler is just fine in it. This movie actually has a point to it as well. Makes you aware, and think a little.
He probably could have been a US action movie star if he wanted. But I understand he lived the majority of his life after retiring from boxing in Italy. Hollywood really wasn't his thing.
