  • Have static spins mystified you?
Have you wondered how some people appear to float forever... while you seem to get sucked into the floor?

Here are 3️⃣ tips to help you make your static spins floaty 🤩 and fabulous 🌟.

I should note, some higher power spins 🌪 will involve more vertical drive into the floor. However, I consider that a more advanced technique since failing to manage/delay the down ⬇️ phase is one reason many novice pole dancers get rib and intercostal injuries.

Have you ever experienced pain in the ribs or around the scapula that feels like you can't take a deep breath or twist after pole dancing?

I certainly did when I was starting. It SUCKS. 🤬

I've seen a significant correlation between that injury pattern and spin techniques that don't spin very well (because there is a rapid vertical ⬇️ drop). The better you are at suspending horizontal(ish) pulling, the less jarring spinning is to your tissues. And...it certainly spins better.

I have many more spin tips, but we will have to look at the rest another time!

OMG you are the pole dance teacher of my dreams with your excellent comprehension and use of physics. Thank you! I am 68 and returning to the pole after a few years. I’m much more inclined toward static pole and you deliver the info I want. Plus you’re an awesome champion. But breaking down the dynamics and teach it…. brilliant!!
Where I live in Mexico there were only spinning pole classes with 20 year olds. So I bought my own pole again and have a whole new attitude, with great info. Thanks to you
