I honestly just kinda teared up. I taped this song off of the radio waaaaaay back in the days, and evidentially quickly recorded over it, and the only thing left is the last verse. I don't remember it from the radio, only from that tape, and I've been sporadically humming, then looking for this song for DECADES! I had no idea who it was, had no idea Ricky Bell was on it, Google, nor any other website was any help, and TH-cam JUST GIVES ME EVERY SINGLE RESULT OTHER THAN THIS ONE!!! Then tonight, I listened to Baby Don't Cry, by Lala Hathaway, like I have a dozen dozen times before, and I'll be damned! I was a virgin whippersnapper when I first heard that verse, now I'm 6 kids deep, and a whole grandfather. Sigh...... 😌 Guess I'll be bumping this nonstop this whole weekend.
Funny how times change. I can actually appreciate this as a Motown classic whilst at the time I would play it once then cross it off my Motown wants list
