    Got one for TR soloing, it's great. A lot of times when beginning to lower it feels sudden. I always use 2 hands, one opening the cam,and a a brake hand on the rope like a normal rapel.

    I used mine several times yesterday both going straight up and while working in the tree. There's a little hole in the one end where the rope exits the device that you can clip a mini carabiner into and it helps manage the friction better. Jim.

    Good presentation. Are you still using this device ? If so, is it your first choice over other mechanical rope positioners ?

      Hi Reg. Thank you. I have been using this just for fast up 'n downs. I still wanna belive that there is a good rope for Taz, but I havent found it. I use ZigZag and Chicane with Drenaline. Next gonna try Courant Squir 2.0 with that. It is the best I have found. Only bad this is that it is not midline attachable.

      @@Arboristfi Right. I've been building and testing a device since Christmas. It should be available later this year though Stein products. Should work well with any rope. Equally applicable to SRT or DdRT. Mid lineable. I think you'll like it.

    I use the TAZ with a swivel on my bridge. That way when I descend I can rotate the TAZ so that the handle faces me and I can operate it with my left hand while using my right hand as a brake hand. That works really well for long descents.

      That is interesting. Usually I don't want to use swievel cos I want to find the device from natural place. But in this case it might work. I have to try it today. I have 40 meter ascends now into water tower. It is kind a show.

      Thank you Joey :). It really needs some improvements with smoothness, before it would be great tool for our industry. Maybe better for someone who don´t want to use Rope Wrench, Rope Runner, Hitch hiker etc... Just to ascend up and change for the double rope. And if needed, leave it for rescue rope. Or just go up and take few simple branches and come down...

    Nice video, this device, ( TazLOv 3) is awesome. Perhaps its not perfect for tree work, however in rope access and rope climbing, it's the best thing so far. It has so many applications for aerial rescue and getting someone off a weighted line.
    Have they let you use this in the Aerial Rescue event at the tree climbing comps? Thank you, Jim.

      It is great in ascent event (tree climbing competitions) and like you wrote there is more possibilities in resque than other mechanical devices like this. Example it can be connected to rope which is tensioned. And yes, it have been ok in treeclimbing comps. Very common in there.

    I've noticed a smoother release with a smaller, firmer rope. The Platinum should work well. The Lov2 is the fastest SRT device to install and climb. The only complaint I have is the lever action and immediate release. It takes some getting used to.

      Thank you Jamison about comments. I have to try more ropes with that when getting it back to home. I gave it for my friend to try it also. There must be better rope also for that, just have to find it.

      @@Arboristfi, The KM3 Max works well for me. I also loaned mine out to a friend to try. He's left handed, so the handle might work better for him.
      The Akimbo is my current daily mechanical. It's picky about rope selection and requires adjustments. The Lov2 is more user friendly, especially for beginners.

      @@TimberTrainer Akimbo is interesting. Great innovations. I kind of get bored of it because all this hazzle what was around it years ago. Also what we need is more of those equipments that are approved also in EU. Now I am using example Rope Runner myself, but cant give it to my workers. Only ce / en device at the moment are this Taz and Rope Wrench.

      I like it also. It is very handy in ascends. Still havent find the best rope for that to work while pruning. Still too much on / off feeling while pulling handle.

    Awesome videos, is 90-100kg lean bodyweight 185cm long to much to be an arborist?

    • @Arboristfi
      @Arboristfi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. It is not too much. I know many heavier also. But quite often people will lose some weight after they have been climbing for while.

      Thanks Tony. In my right leg there is ISC foot ascender. In my left leg there is knee ascender called SAKA.

    Worry,but how many millimiters is the rope that you use for taz lov 2?

    • @Arboristfi
      @Arboristfi  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It needs to be between 10-11 mm. I was using Edelrid Powerstatic II, which is 11mm. Didn´t like it that much and gonna try something else.

    • @enricogreco7169
      @enricogreco7169 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Arborist_fi thank you... but if I use taz lov 2 with a 12.5mm rope what Will happen?

    • @Arboristfi
      @Arboristfi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      enrico greco It is not going to work as planned. It will be difficult to get between cam and when you can push it through, it will be stiff. Example Teufelberger Tachyon can be pushed in there, but is not meant for that. You can also see how there will be small material from rope (fibers) on device after climb. It is just too thick.
