After all Rav's disturbing and grotesque characters it's refreshing for him to be playing a simple nice, salt of the earth, chap. Can't wait for him to turn into a cultist.

Somehow you have managed to make Call of Cthulhu - a high-mortality TTRPG that, as a result, doesn't tend to have a lot of repeat campaigns for characters - into a running series with Maggie and Perry and their friends, and I love it. Interspersing them with other campaigns in different TTRPGs gives a really cool balance, and showcases some systems that don't see a lot of exposure, and this channel has more than proven itself worthy of the membership. You're all doing a fantastic job!
I loved that about their first few call of cthulhu adventures, the recurring characters or new but closely related characters added so much to it for me!!
Simon: Sarcastically tells Ravs to try for Spot Hidden whenever possible because it's ALWAYS GOOD. Also Simon: Spends luck on a Spot Hidden and nearly gets eviscerated for his trouble.
Harry is also one of the rare types of players. The player is brave enough to do what's needed to be done, thus pushing the narrative forward, yet will stick to the character but also allow some room for the character to develop.
I said this before the re-upload, but I rewatch the Yogsquest Call of Cthulu videos pretty much every year. Ravs is making for such a welcome addition to this series. I would love to see more of him in Call of Cthulu.
I've actually found that new roleplayers are often the best at roleplaying. I think it might be because of how many new games focus on being more story and less dice compared to the hard crunch of a few decades ago. But I also tend to introduce people by being all 'just tell me what you want to play and what you want to do and let me worry about the numbers' until they get more familiar with role playing in general.
As I sit in my comfortable chair, a cup of coffee steaming gently at my elbow, I see a new upload. A familiar bearded face, speaking words of doom. I flash back to last night. Same chair, same bearded man, same portentous delivery. Am I finally breaking away from the roots of sanity, or am I on a MYSTERY QUEST?
I love how CoC can turn tired character tropes into compelling stories, and flip them. Classic hero traits: bravery, smarts, selflessness, curiousity. All fine ways to find trouble. Whilst handsome and dishonest rats often manage to scurry away. Great fun to watch, looks fun to play
24:03 This made me lose it with laughter! This is the kind of player collaboration that I dream of happening at my table. Tom's reaction captures my joy perfectly. I love that Lydia and Barry might not have much experience with TTRPG's, but they have plenty of creativity and they manage to pull this off with perfect timing & fluidity, without tripping up. It's seriously, honestly inspiring.
I caught up on these on the train today and I can't stress enough how good this is. The previous scenarios they've done all had spooky themes, but this one actually has me a bit spooked. Everything from the players to the Tom's DM'ing to the added sounds and music is phenomenal! I can't wait for the next episode!
Tom: "What a ghoulish episode. I hope it wasn't too spooky scary for you". Yes Tom, it was. I'm watching it in a pitch black room at 3 in the morning and now I'm paranoid there's a black haired women hidden in every dark corner. KEEP IT UP!
I want to predict that the guests at the door are in fact the player characters themselves, and they too are (and have been) stuck living out the same moments over and over again
My initial theory was that the people in the house are ghosts themselves since it seemed like they can't interact with anything other than what they would have in life. (Such as the gas canister "being too heavy" for him to lift.) As well as their memories and thoughts preferring to default to what they would've known in life. The crux being that whatever this ritual was which was performed went horribly wrong (possibly trying to revive the dead wife) and is keeping everyone's spirits as thralls, only breaking the illusion when the players hit too close to home with their remarks about things being not as they seem. However, Jeremiah having his necky-wecky get an oopsie-woopsie has thrown a wrench into my reasoning. Such intrique! Excellent job Tom. I applaud you good sir.
I have to watch this video again to make sure Tom gets credit with the algorithm? No. I GET to watch this video again to make sure Tom gets credit with the algorithm... :)
Absolutely loving this, Tom mixed with the editing makes for just the right level of eerie and unsettling that the party then disassembles with jokes just makes it an enthralling watch
I love the sand room, it reminds me so much of the ominous sand in Shadow of Israphel. Also Harry asking for a point of insanity was hilarious too. There was a 3rd thing I wanted to comment about but I forgot bc I was so engrossed in the story and characters. Yogs Call of Cthulhu will always be some of my favorite content!
This stuff is actually really scary. You can tell it's coming but I'm never prepared for what it actually is. Brilliant storytelling, loving it to bits!
God the opening little ministories are so goddamn good. They always get me right into the mood for a Mystery Quest tm ETA: Wow this episode has _gone places_. Also I'm absolutely loving all the players you're getting for these games, everyone's striking such a good balance between taking things seriously and acting as their characters and stuff, and having a fun, entertaining time, which is a really tough thing to balance IMO.
Was around midnight when I got to the locked door bit upstairs and I'm currently watching this with a wooden door literally inches away from me on my right. For some reason I only got the audio on my rightside and to say I nearly pissed myself is an understatement from the noise in the video.
Another fantastic episode! Things are definitely past Ramping Up phase and solidly into the Haha Oh God phase. :D Ravs and Harry have been great additions!

The way Harry and Ravs were freaking out for real is such testament to Tom's great GM: ing 🙌🏻
Also the fact they take the game seriously lol
No fault to Simon and Lyds but they take the piss out of it
