Valmiki Ramayana is the Moola. (Origin). Before that, I feel, let us be clear that Valmiki Ramayana is a "ITI"Haasam. And We have 18 Puranams. ITI means 'like this'. That is, Mr. Valmiki was there and saw everything happening and wrote what he saw. He has witnessed it. So naturally, there can be only one origin. Now a simple answer to your question is, Kamba Ramayanam is a poetic translation of Valmiki Ramayanam. Mr. Kamaban used Valmiki Ramayana as a reference when he wrote Kamba Ramayana. Every Language we have great poets who have translated Ramayana in their language. (Like Ramacharita Manas , by Tulsidas in Hindi) I tried to clarify with the limited knowledge that I have.
