Are You Drawing Near?

Scripture: Hebrews 7
1. Jesus is a greater priest than all the others
2. Hebrews 7:25 (CSB) Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, since he always lives to intercede for them.
3. Hebrews mentions “drawing near” 7 times.
4. Jesus saves to the uttermost: He saves completely, fully, comprehensively.
5. The Christian’s ability to endure is based on Jesus’ eternal intercession.
6. But there is a condition: we need to take our eyes off ourselves and keep them on Jesus.
7. What does it mean practically to draw near to God through Jesus’s?
1. Is 55:6-7; James 4: depart from your sinful life, repent.
2. Embrace who Jesus is and His gospel. This should affect every aspect of our life. Our faith in Him should be visible in the way we live our lives. Live as if you are dead to sin, as if you are free of its hold on you. You have to be born again, spiritually!
3. As a born again Christian you should know whether you are close to God or not. God gives grace to the humble and resists the proud.
