- A remix of 'The Dark Colossus (Kaiju)' from the most wonderful NieR Automata OST.
I love this track, it is immensely powerful and encourages exactly the right mood for the battles in which it is used, just like all of Okabe's work.
I wanted a longer version of the track with some of the separate elements reshuffled and an intimidating organ lead-in. There's also a touch of the chorus from 'Mourning' mixed in as a bridge.
FYI, it gets loud after the intro.

I feel like the organ is a serverly underused instrument in modern music. It is a wonder to listen to no matter where it is and immediately steals the show in the best way

The NieR series also contains a lot of philosophical depth that those focused only on shallow elements & being horny look over.

I feel so bad for the Dark Colossus. It was being attacked just for existing. Yes, it was a danger to both Androids and machines, but it didn't know. It only fought back because it wanted to live.

I've listened to many DCK remixes and want to say that so far yours is one of my most favorite.
Amazing work!! Love the organ lead in. Definitely will put this on for the necromancer boss battle in the D&D scenario I'm working on :D Nier automata OST is so wonderful, we need more remixed versions like this that keep the spirit and just add some length to those epic songs.

As soon as I heard this open in game I swore this was shadowlord so hard that I woke my husband up. I was waiting for a Shadowlord mix for the entire game and I never got one. I was so mad. It was close enough though.

Also, I love your placement of Mounring as a bridge, but i feel i like the original organ solo bridge better. There's a reason why Okabe chose that to be the bridge in the original retail release of the track.

In short, yes u can enjoy the game without watching the anime first. Works for the opposite
the game and anime have different flow of story. This is intended by the creator of nier:automata so we can enjoy both without feeling bored or already know what will happen next.
Yeah, you can. This game doesn't have too many of the generic Anime tropes or clichés, and it may sound surprising, but aside from 2B's character design, there's little to no fan-service in the game.
