Man, I love Rayman games. I wish you'd play through the original Rayman from the 90s. There was even a fan remake called Rayman Redemption that came out a few years ago. I'm playing it right now. It's really good.

I still genuinely feel like Origins is the better game. Its level design quality has much more notable downs but its highs are also much higher. It's not a consistent experience, but it is one that rewards you with high quality at times. Legends is the far more consistent game with improved controls, but it plays it rather safe most of the time, the side content feels like filler for the most part and sort of desperate ways to add more content because the game is only half as long as Origins. it even fills its other half up with Origins levels, which have gotten changes that feel like they didn't really get what made Origins work. And worst of all it added mosquito levels but not the full Land of the Livid Dead level, which was Origins' best level. The music levels are neat, but they're certainly not some final challenge to test player skill. Those shadow rayman challenges meanwhile did have difficulty, but they're not good levels. Just annoying memorization challenges.
So all in all Origins is the better game while Legends is the more consistent game that plays it a bit safe.
