It's maybe just my opinion but I feel these subscription boxes are a huge waste of money. I think that when you have your style figured out, you may only have use for one item in these boxes, leaving you with stuff that you don't need. The same goes with those watch subscriptions. Collecting watches is not about having 1000 watches, it's about collecting something that you care about. For instance only collecting chronos for example or only collecting watches with interesting case designs. I might be biased as most watches that come in these boxes are not my taste but I just feel it's a big waste of money. Instead of spending a 100$ a month on a watch that you might not like in the end, I feel it's better to save those towards a watch one really loves. But on the other hand if one enjoys it, that's also great.
WatchGang is only good if one wants to amass a collection full of cheap random pieces that nobody else wants. Save your money and get something worth keeping.
kongmw you can pay for the more premium version he bought the premium way I see it pay 300$ for at least a 500$ Watch and resell it 100$ under retail makes your money back and then some

You would think that with a case like that the watch would be rocking an incredible open back revealing an outstanding movement underneath that metal plate, like the watches of old...but nope! More metal!! Yay!
More than $3600 a year, for that money you could get a beautiful Omega Speedmaster or almost a Breitling Navitimer which doesn't depreciate and is an actual work of art, not another Kickstarter Watch Co. with average movements :/ Not worth it at all, no one will buy these watches second hand either so it's a complete waste of money.
I agree that many guys would do well to save for a watch they really want. But the last part of your comment isn’t true. I’ve had many offers to buy my WG watches (unsolicited) and have sold some of them.
Fair enough, but with the varied nature of what you get, chances are that many subscribers will end up with hard-to-shift watches that don't add up to the value of a watch they could have saved for. Some people like getting surprises and that's fine, I just don't see the economy in this. Great review nonetheless.
Karl Walter just got done looking on ebay and it seems that alot of people are making money off flipping these watches once they get them. One guy is selling this same watch for $500 and has 7 watchers
A new Navitimer 01 and World hovers around 7k USD. I doubt anyone is selling you a used Navitimer for 3.6k.

Great video! Bad idea for me. I wouldn't know what to do after accumulating so many watches and would probably spend 30 mins a day just trying to decide which watch to wear haha.

Purging your watch box is a bigger pain in the ass then purging your closet. You will take a big hit especially on these lower, lesser known entry level watches.

Please don't waste your money on these watch subscription services. If you're unsure what watch you want, do some research (r/watches, youtube), go to a watch store and try some on, and save your money on something you actually love! You can hear how disappointed Brock is when he sees the watch and he didn't even have to pay for it......
r/watches is an incredible resource, along with many channels here on TH-cam (Theo and Harris, The Urban Gentry, Teddy Baldassarre, Minitwatch, etc.).

Watch Gangs appeal is the GAMBLING aspect. The mystery watch concept is intriguing but not enough to make the cost worth it without MISLEADING you about your chances of getting something worth more than what you paid. If you pay for the $100 tier you are getting a $100 dollar watch.
They literally have a wheel on their site that you can pay to spin... with a tiny slice that says ROLEX. If you look closely at the actually chance of landing on the ROLEX space... you'll see that the size of the slices on this wheel DO NOT CORRESPOND WITH THE ACTUAL CHANCE TO LAND ON THEM. If the wheel was visually honest... the ROLEX space would be thinner than a hair. They make it look like you actually have a decent chance when you don't. But hey just keep subbing and you might randomly get a GRAIL!!

I imagine that these watches are the ones the manufacturer couldn't sell at the advertised price so in comes Watch Gang buy the lot at a ridiculously huge discount and that is how they make money. Are they passing on a savings to you. In theory yes. I personally wouldn't subscribe.
They are grey market, so bought from markets on other continents which is why you'll never see one with a manufacturer warranty.

Where can you add your preferences on the site? I don't want to be sent a huge, honking, obnoxious, heavy watch. I signed up for the platinum tier.
Kind of a new brand? Yeah. Like months new after Watch Gang and a Chinese company got together and built the web page and brand to sell you a $45 watch for $300 a month. Many of these crappy Chinese companies also try to sell this shite on Kickstarter. Want an excellent Chinese watch? Try Phoibos or one of the dozens of other excellent micros that don’t lie to you.
I think a man can choose each morning in 2-3 minutes only from about 20 watches. So be selective, 20 is enough, like with girlfriends!

Can't for the love of god understand why people subscribe to Watchgang, if you pay 299$ a month you will accumulate 12 mediocre watches in a year. If you saved those 299$ a month you could buy a a high end watch on the second hand market by the end of those 12 months. Yes, I know you are not bound to Watchgang and that you can subscribe only one month or for as long as you wish.. But that's only my own subjective opinion.

Just buy a filippo loreti or Vincero watch if you want something that looks really nice, good quality at an affordable price. Watches from about $200-$600. Just got my Filippo Loreti Venice Moonphase blue gold watch for $315 before the 30% discount code I found online and I've got so many compliments on it. It looks nicer than several $800-$1500+ popular name brand watches.

299$ a month 3600$ for the year 12 watches all of different quality and value or you can save the 3600$ and buy yourself a high quality watch that you love that is exactly what you want for 3600 or less ...

Sorry just have to point out that the website was charging 990 euros not pounds for the watch so there is quite a big difference as 990 euros is around 865 pounds £ or around 1132 usd

I agree with MrJeronimo94's comment, I went for the black subscription and was disappointed with the first watch. It's way more important to save up and get something you actually want and will wear (Like that Rolex Datejust)
I would wear a watch that suites my exact taste and for it’s rich history, not because it’s twice the price of what I payed for. Save up for the watch you really want. You can’t wear two watches at the same time!
You can wear two at the same time! :) But I agree with you nonetheless... save for at least one watch you REALLY love, instead of having dozens of passable stuff weighting on your wrist.

Well I’m not one to call BS ,But I’m Calling BS on that watch....Only because your supported by Watch Gang...I have heard of S Dawson watches because I actually collect watches.Thats a 1500-1700 Watch.And I don’t mean like Invicta who says “Retail” is 1000.00 and sells them for 120.00.Thats a Legitimate close to 2 Grand Watch.I just find it highly suspicious that you’re hawking and fawning over Watch gang and they ask you to do a random Unboxing.Thats probably a 1-20,000 chance Watch.Just another reason I don’t trust “Subscription” companies.Stop being Lazy and do some research and buy what you like,but hey maybe ur that lucky guy that gets 2000.00 watches every Month.
If WG wanted me to “fawn” over their service, they would have sent a watch I actually liked. I think it’s pretty clear in this video that I wouldn’t have bought this watch for myself, regardless of how much it’s worth.

I did work with WG on this video, but I'm not an ongoing customer, and I don't think the service is right for most collectors. My collection is about 6 watches that were pretty carefully hand picked (new collection video coming next week).
FYI, ATM = atmosphere which is equal to 10 meters ... the water resistance is adequate.

you have not heard of this company because it appears to exist on kickstarter (where it's latest piece is currently sitting on pledges of the princely sum of $11,450 by 8 backers), I guess they offloaded some watches to watch gang because there are watch gang reviews going back to February. one of the saddest videos I saw was a guys 12 month supply of watch gang platinum watches. he had spent $3600 and got some watches I would expect to pay about $120 on in a market in Istanbul.
