His potential is literally limitless. he has Frieza's prodigy, Vegeta and Goku's potential, Picolo's regeneration as well as Nappa, Krillin, Tien, Cold, Gohan. He had all their techniques, the instant transmission, can survive self destruct and become STRONGER and he STARTED stronger than Frieza. He would be a nightmare to face.
I agree and why can't it be considered that cell has the same if not more potential to face Goku with ultra instinct as he is composed of cells of all the best fighters?
His potential is actually extremely limited. He is for all intents and purposes just a copycat of all the z fighters up to frieza. He has no techniques of his own, no attacks of his own, No imagination of his own, no style of his own. He doesn't bring anything to the table that any of the other z fighters don't already and he's incapable of really coming up with anything new. Cell Reached his max Potential at the End of the Cell saga.

Cell's motivations would have been easier to work with, for sure. His mentality is interesting, he has Vegeta's strategy, Freeza's ruthlessness, but also Goku's desire to fight strong people and push the limits. He could have been brought in with the lure of testing his abilities and going beyond perfection. Also it would be total awkward-sauce if he and Gohan trained together in the time chamber and I would so want to see that haha.
The show would have been 10x more hype for sure. I think having Cell, Buu and Frieza all on the universe 7 team would have been a literal DBZ vs DBS fight and the hype could not be contained. All the heroes and villains of DBZ teaming up against something way more intense. If that were the case, I would have merged all the universes at the end, because Goku doesn't want all losers destroyed or something. And then that resets the power scaling, because you can realistically have some fools that are more powerful than even Beerus. So now, you can have cool DBZ style arcs again. But Toriyama gots ta have it his way.
Perfect Cell equals 34 Tenshinhans. He created a tournament and waited patiently, as evil as he is, maybe he can play within the rules (more than Frieza). He’s just difficult to animate with all the little dark spots.
So I am wondering. If Cell has Goku's cells, and experienced near death from like jiren or topo, wouldn't he resurrect with a ZenKai or powerboost to their level since he has Saiyan cells?
Yes and he can tap into Super Saiyan esque power based on his aura and Super Perfect cell having ssj2 aura along with using the buff transformation also. Potentially he might be able tap into something similar to Golden Frieza if he trained or maybe even something like SSG. He's kind of broken so I can see why they wouldn't want to bring him back.
Cell was my favorite villain by far. They could have easily dropped him in the time chamber for a few hours with Vegeta. That time they spend in the chamber could develop a bond between them. He's part saiyan. He has no limits. He's part Frieza. His base power is extremely high. He's part Namekian. He has regenerative abilities similar to Buu. He knows all of the techniques of every fighter on Earth. 17s "sacrifice" could have been altered to willingly be absorbed by Cell in the final stages of the fight. His arc has more possibilities than Frieza's. Frieza is one dimensional.
Tyree Freeeman but Goku was no threat after the switch. Ginyu was unable to utilize Goku's body well but Goku was injured and not able to fight. This would essentially take Jiren out of the fight and Universe 7 would easily win.
The funny thing is I always saw Cell as being a far more sensible choice than Frieza. True he's nowhere near as strong as Frieza got but unlike Frieza he seems just far more amicable. Unlike Frieza who is untrustworthy and has a blinding hatred Cell strikes me as just a guy who likes to fight i.e. he's an amoral version of Goku. All in all it is interesting to think about what could've been.
Um.... Obviously goku wasn't trying to kill the 2 of them. And tbh he probably went harder against krillin than he did 17. Because he wanted krillin to feel completely outclassed to see if krillin would punk out. As for 17, he's not close to being on par with blue. But he's definitely no pushover
What level of power do think krillin is at? Lets say super saiyan 1 since he can spar against no. 18. Right. So super saiyan 1 power level vs super saiyan blue. I honestly didn't like the fact they brought back Frieza so many times in filler, movies and in the anime. I honestly got really fucking tired of him and think that Cell would have been a much better character to bring in considering he has Piccolo's regeneration, Frieza's Potential and a Saiyan Zenkai Boost, you could just let one of the super saiyan blues blast half of his body off and then let him regenerate and gain a huge power boost. And considering the spots are annoying to draw they could just let him ascend to a new form- without spots. On top of that he really likes fighting and simply wants a good fight, unlike Frieza who's first instinct was to ask "Can I kill them?"

I never felt Cell was as cruel or vindictive as Freeza so I don't think Cell would be motivated by revenge like Freeza is. I think he would be motivated to prove he's a superior being to everyone else

Cell would've been a much better choice than Frieza. I think he'd join the Tournament of Power immediately after hearing Goku's request. He would've been surprised to see Androids 17 and 18 alive, but the most important shock to Cell would be Gohan. Goku may have teleported Cell away to save the earth, but it was Gohan who killed Cell and sent the evil android to hell. It would've been cool to see a rematch between Gohan and Cell, which I think a lot of fans have been wanting to see. Remember, Cell is the reason that Gohan became so powerful.
@@sean.a.s7234 Well it takes time for Cell to do it and its splitting his energy into more bodies rather than creating new fighter with no cost. Think of it as cell cutting a chunk of his power down to put into a Cell Jr. Plus the main reason we didn't see him is because the Z fighters probably didn't want to deal with a stronger smarter Cell on the lose. I mean think about it, if he got stronger to the point he could go toe to toe with super Saiyan god or Ultra Instinct he would be unstopable especially due to his regenerative ability. I mean he can come back even if there is a single cell left of him. Plus he hasn't come back at all making training or an increase in power imposibble fof Cell. So Frieza who is currently stronger than Cell would take less time to get up to par. Compared to Frieza who is easily equal in power and is a much easier threat to deal with Cell just has too many risks involved. That and the Z Fighters have fought Frieza alot more than Cell so know his strength and weaknesses making him easier to co-operate with and assist.
Francis Harkins That would set up the fighters for a second Cell games, and honestly, seeing Gohan whoop himself into shape to take down cell again would be absolutely needed. Right now, he's still missing a backbone after being given it ON NUMEROUS occasions. Once before the Buu saga when he should've at least continued to train in order to prepare himself for the future (aka, the time gap between cell saga and Buu saga), then during the Buu saga he got his act together and got Mystic. That was when he should've learned to keep up the training in case of danger. Then he got beat, which should've further reinforced that to him. End of the Buu saga, what happens in super? We find out that he's not bothered training AT ALL and has reached an all time low! I know his dad just became a literal super Saiyan God, but jeez! He shouldn't have slacked. Then to get whooped in the ROF movie/saga. Then the preliminaries. What happens? He does some good stuff, not gonna lie. But it's still not nearly as good as he *Could* have been. Instead, he slacks. Come the TOP? He needs Piccolo to give him a whoop up the ass to get him back to his peak again. THAT should cement the "if I don't train, I could loose everything." Mentality he needs to protect not only his family, but Earth too. I'm willing to bet that Gohan's gonna continue this cycle in whatever comes next too. And I'll be just as pissed about it then as I am now.

Cell has Frieza's cells. He gains all the best things from his components, so he very well could have the 'Train for 6 months and become a demigod' trait.
That is a good question, but if it came down to it, Cell could create a Cell Jr for each time a fighter was eliminated. However, there's no guarantee that it would be allowed.
In that timeline Buu was the most powerful villain. And so in Super, Frieza was chosen to have story about how his power level never reached his full potential because he said he never trained. So now his "Golden form" is more powerful to Buu's.
Cell would have been broken if they brought him back for T.O.P. because he could go into the chamber of spirit and time, clone himself, have his clones blow him up, and then reform and rest every single day taking advantage of Piccolo's regenerative powers, and the Saiyan Zenkai boost. He'd be the most powerful character in the series literally over night.
Also he would train in hell before absorbing 17 and 18 so he can be on terms of power with goku and vegeta I think how it would happen is one goku gets ultra instinct two cell sees how powerful goku gets 3 cell absorbs 17 and 18 at the same time and bam cell gets golden form
Yeah universe 7 wouldn't want cell chasing after its team the whole tournament trying to absorb them and then dropping them to 8 members. It would be funny for a little then annoying. Frieza has a larger back story than cell.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I forgot most of the part of Cell Saga. I think Cell gained his Super Perfect Cell from regeneration after he self destructed? That could be exploited. If he's dead (with halo), Goku could've just obliterated Cell over and over again thus making Cell grow more and more stronger for each time he regenerates.
If Cell has the same cells as Frieza, then Cell could train in the hyperbolic time chamber for like a day/year, transform into Golden Cell, and become infinitely more powerful than Frieza. I think the reason why they chose Frieza instead is because Cell is an unpredictable villain, knows everyone's attacks/weaknesses, can regenerate, and can fucking vore people with his tail.
Even if we assume that he can't actually get that Frieza like buff and turn into Golden Cell, his Zenkai boost alone would have him rivaling any of them after a certain amount of time when combined with his regeneration. Now if you add that Frieza like buff ALONG with his Zenkai boost ALONG with his Regeneration ALONG with his ability to just pick up on techniques ALONG with his ability to absorb, like holy fuck - Cell is easily the best choice.

Pretty sure it was a joke but I have literally no need for a source when it comes to that. Those spots are going to be time consuming and annoying for basically ANY artist save for a select few that would be like "I think its relaxing". So I have no problem believing they didn't want him in the series because spots. I'm sure they discussed Cell and Frieza both and the defining decision was just Frieza being more popular but those spots must've come up as an issue for animating and getting episodes out on time.

I have an idea about what Cell's hell would be like, and the idea is based on Frieza's hell and the fact that Dabura was sent to heaven instead. Frieza holds his power over all else - and not just his physical power, but his political and military power as well. He's also a sadist and actively enjoys preying on the weak. So, a bunch of teddy bears and fairies in a field of flowers singing and frolicking in front of the helpless tyrant is the perfect torment for him. Similarly, Dabura would be right at home in hell, seeing as though he's basically king of a hell-like realm anyway. So he got sent to Heaven instead. So, what is Cell's main aspect? Seeking perfection. So, Cell's hell would simply be him being denied that ultimate perfection. He'd be allowed to train all he wants, but constantly tormented with how he never truly was perfect and never will truly will be perfect, and that he's basically just a donkey following a carrot on a stick. And that hell would backfire, because Cell isn't just some ordinary being. Most people's ambitions are conscious, and as such they can become disheartened and left in a state of self-defeatism... but Cell's drive is subconscious, and a product of Dr. Gero's programing. Even if he consciously felt powerless, he'd keep going on, _forced_ by that very subconscious drive. A Cell brought back in Super would be a terrifyingly powerful being indeed.
Super Perfect Cell is stronger than 17, 18, and Roshi and Tien. By replacing 4 of those above with Cell, they saved 3 extra slots. 3 EXTRA SLOTS!!! 3 slots is enough to completely change the field, giving them so much more chance of winning.
Going based on fighterz, Cell training in hell would easily explain away a huge leap in power. Edit: just imagine cells presence in the ToP if he trained considering his genes.

I'm surprised you didn't mention some things. Like how OP Cell might be considering he may essentially have (Double?) Infinite energy (thanks to absorbing the androids), and how much of a boon that was for 17/18. Cells skills and versatility on top of that could be insane. Maybe he could infinitely donate towards a Spirit Bomb of Goku's or his own. Or at least be able to abuse the ability to donate his energy like was used so many times throughout the ToP. And like Buu, but different, it's easy to forget about his absorption being in his arsenal. It would depend on them writing it as such, but him absorbing energy from people, like he did in first form, could be written as it boosting his max power, as if he has infinite energy it wouldn't make much sense as doing anything useful. He could probably do that without killing people, instead just weakening them making for easier knock outs. There also to consider, what if he reabsorbed 17 after all the power ups 17 got from fighting poachers? I think Buu was written out purely cause he was to OP to write, with healing and an ability to leave little bits of himself around the ring. And Cell was probably passed over for the same reason. Lose/Lose either you write him properly, and he ends up being OP, or you don't and incur negative fan reaction.
I'm not sure what wavering you are talking about, but thinking about it now, that's true if you consider that he "recovered" from the sensu that Goku gave him before he fought Gohan. I was more trying to suggest that the writers had room to work with, but completely forgot about that. Kind of a shame that toriyama (probably accidentally) effectively reconned the infinite energy for Cell. If 17/18 had it, Cell should too. Still, as far as asspulls, retcons and general writing wierdness goes in Super, I'd be more fine with him getting a retcon to have infinite energy than some of the shit we've been forced to swallow.

simply put, they didnt add him because he would be unstoppable. You can only stop him if you vaporize him, all of him, to the very last "Cell". So even if he wasnt that strong after getting the snot beat out of him, he would regen, become super strong from the saiyan cells, and continue till winning. If someone did kill him, they would be disqualified. If he is thrown off the ring, he can instant transmission back to any on the feel. He has unlimited stamina cause of the androids... he is just too op to add to the story and still make it compelling writing, unless at the end he derided at the end to fight goku or gohan before jiren, but he would most likely want to beat jiren first cause hes the strongest... and finally if goku used ultra instinct and cell saw it, he would figure it out super quick like goku and that would be a whole other mess, but yes would have made for a great new arc to watch. Anyways, cell would be too strong and that is the same reason they didnt use buu either, ultimate regen factor and eating people/combining, too hard to write anything that would make any logic since to why buu can't just eat everyone. Here is my thought on why Cell wasn't in the Tournament, and why he shouldn't be. I won't talk about power here since we know that could be easily altered. They would say something like "Cell has been training in hell for a while and now he is as strong as SSJ Blue", and that, tbh, is gonna be fine. Golden Cell, Ultra Cell, Ultimate Cell, fine. But what I considered to be the thing that would destroy Cell before he could even step foot into the ring, is that the knowledge he has is nowhere near what Frieza has. To be more simple, he doesn't know about Beerus. And chances are, he would have rubbed Beerus right on the wrong side (maybe he would pull a Goku and tease Beerus, doesn't listen to him or underestimated him), and chances are, Beerus would have destroyed Cell right before he could even finish one of his insults. At that point in time, Beerus would not be in the mood for a foul-mouth Cell, because his life was on the line. Here is what I think would happen if Goku brought Cell back instead of Frieza: Cell insults Beerus, says he is Perfect and no one controls him, Beerus gets mad and Hakai him, then orders Goku to get Frieza. And everything will progress like nothing changes.

They could simply knock him out. They don't have to kill him, and by now a good portion of the fighters are simply more powerful than him. He couldn't even handle Super Saiyan 2, and forget Goku and Vegeta going SSJB, the fact is their regular forms are stronger than their Super Saiyan 2 forms by now when they fought in the Buu Saga.
I think that Cell wouldn't have wanted to help. Granted, he's AT LEAST as capable as any other members due to his genetics, but he just doesn't seem to be the type who would care enough. Plus, we have zero evidence that he has done any improving in his afterlife.

Cell was literally a better choice than any of the other villains Out of the 3 main arc villains he has the lowest kill count, he's probably killed less people than Vegeta
your forgetting all the people cell killed for fun during the 10 days wait for the cell games. however given that he actually spared the planet and endured suvere boredom for 10 whole days, thats a bit more merceful than any other. its in his dna to find pleasure in killing, and given he all out ignored that for 10 days. yea hes definitely a better person than frieza.
It would be neat to see Cell mix the Ultimate Evolution (aka Golden Frieza) and the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (aka Super Saiyan Blue) to power up into a unique form. Plus, wouldn't coming back to life make Cell stronger thanks to Saiyan Power (Zenkai Boost)? Well, he wouldn't necessarily be coming back to life, since he would still have his halo. Additionally, it would be even funnier to see Goku teach Cell how to master God ki, which would force us to question why he has not taught it to either of his sons yet.

Cell is first and foremost a pride warrior, just like Vegeta. He would have eagerly wanted to compete against strong fighters like Jiren, not for world domination, only to surpass his limits, just like he allowed Gohan to transform into Saiyan 2 just so he could see Gohan's strength. And Cell has a certain code of honour, which Frieza does not have. Cell also has Saiyan cells, which means he could easily greatly improve in power. If both Android 17 and Frieza have gotten so strong as to compete with Goku Blue without doing a lot of training, imagine Cell, who likes to train, could become. If given the chance, Frieza would kill Goku in his sleep, while Cell would only do it after having given Goku the chance to fight him fairly. Even with the Super Dragon Balls, Cell would only probably just make the wish to be the strongest in the universe, while Frieza would wish for complete immortality and total world domination. Cell would have been a much better choice than Frieza.
Cell has the most broken genetic make up and should be enough to close the gap Sayain DNA- gives himself a zenkai boost even when he harms himself with the self destruction technique which by the way makes it better than an actual sayains zenkai boost Freeza DNA- gives him freeza's crazy resilience sense freeza was able to survive being in several Peace's and that being an ability of his not the dragon balls. Nemekian DNA- gives him crazy regeneration which is pushed even further with freeza's resilience allowing him to regenerate fro a single cell he could regenerate from a drop of blood on the floor Not only that he could absorb other people in the tournament even though that might be considered killing them it could also not be sense technically this assimilates them into his being so they become apart of him on top of that he can make copies of himself that have the same amount of power as he does and nothing states he can't reabsorb them to become stronger on top of that there is nothing to say that cell didn't gain freeza's growth rate and even if he didn't would he need it? Cells genetic makeup alone makes him a juggernaut
Power don't seem to be an issue, as the authors can simply go and "he trained to be at an useful level", as they did. But in this terms, probably the best choice would be Mr.Popo. Can eat ki attacks, can move without being detected and have literal thousands of years of practice of tossing people out of round arenas. An SS2 tier Mr.Popo probably would have make the clean on the weaker stuff in the arena with ease.
Nah Krillin is stronger than Cell. Goku's base form in Super is stronger than SSJ3 in Z. Krillin could almost hold his own against goku's base form I'd say Krillin is atleast ssj2 level from Z. Meaning Krillin is stronger than Cell.
I hate Cell, but his healing and zenkai boost ability just may enable him to surpass Friezas golden form significantly. Cell would be on Jirens level or at least Toppos level easily with some training and fighting.
All, he said surpass Frieza, not Jiren.. And he's right. With one trip to the time chamber Cell could be on Jiren's level. And I'LL say it myself. He would possibly surpass Jiren because of the cells he has inside him.
FREE1UP I think Cell would need a years worth of eart time in the chamber to be able to become as strong as Jiren. He would need to spar with Goku or Vegeta during that time to become GoD Toppo level. SSB goku pushing cell in the chamber combined with Cell’s zenkai boost would just make him stupidly strong within that time.
All not even, I hated cell. Just saying, his zenkai boost is faster and stronger than Vegeta and goku. Every time they hurt him he instantly healed and came back stronger. If he trained with ssjb in the time chamber, he would easily at least surpass Frieza. He has all their genes in him.
T N, I don't think he'd necessarily need the whole year but that's just me. Frieza didn't really have a worthy sparring partner himself so much as a living punching bag who was much weaker and look what he got done in just 4 months. Cell has that combined with Vegeta, Goku, Piccolo, and Tien's intense training will which skyrockets his training potential. I think Cell is the only one with the potential to actually reach or surpass Jiren within a year of training. I know it sounds like reaching but look at who he has inside him. Dude is pretty much perfect like he says.

I think its best to throw out tien for cell because master roshi has more tricky moves at his disposal despite being weaker. Now when Cell comes back, him and Gohan should be forced to take a risky move by having "ONLY" in the hyberbolic time chamber. Reasons for this is because: 1. Gohan will retain his ability to last longer in a fight like his did against super buu 2. Cell gets stronger all while releasing his anger in sparing sessions against Gohan 3. Gohan reaches past his limits and taps deeper into his mystic form 4. Cell can learn a new power based on Gohans mystic form 5. This makes Gohan have to keep up with is training after the T.O.P. so that Cell doesn't become stronger than him 6. This is not part of the list but imagine if Cell picked up on Friezas training technique that he used in R.oF, Cell would become more than god level and be able to travel faster than frieza especially since he has instant transmission. Also cell has saiyan cells inside him so he can get stronger throughout the t.o.p. before reaching Jiren. Now Frieza, Cell, Goku, Vegeta, and 17 get to face off against the final three opponents from Jirens universe. Jiren eliminates everyone but Cell and Frieza and the show ends off on a cliffhanger of who got the wish and what they wished for. Then the Dragonball Broly movie happens and by the end of that movie when Goku walks away from Broly, a SS4 saiyan that is unkown was watching the fight the entire time from a different universe. This gives the fanbase questions that were raised such as what/how many universes where brought back, what are Frieza and Cell doing currently, who is this unknown saiyan from a different universe. Also the SS4 saiyan is the person from Beerus's dream which he almost doesn't remember because that universe was erased. Then later on the fanbase doesn't know that the SS4 saiyan was the King Vegeta of that universe. Now this can give vegeta a reason to still call himself the prince even though this version of king vegeta is from a different universe. The universe with king vegeta has a Bardock who serves under him but he can only transform as high as ss2. Goku meets bardock who goku thinks is just a weaker version of himself but the vegeta from our universe knows who he is but keeps quiet anyways then the arc ends there. Then dragonball starts in a new arc exactly like the one with moro after the broly movie. Now Moro is capable of taking away goku and vegeta's power I think in the newer pages of the manga so the only way to overcome it is by figuring out how to go ss4. They ask king vegeta from the other universe but he only explains the nature of the tranformation and how to get there which brings just a small flashback moment to broly. King Vegeta can't cross over to universes to help goku and vegeta because thats their universes problem and he has his duty as king to fulfill........Goku and vegeta defeat moro using the ss4 transformation. The arc ends with whiz praising the ss4 transformation and explaining beerus's encounter with king vegeta from a different universe. Then the dragonball series ends with the next episode that shows Tarble, vegetas long lost brother, reuniting with vegeta on earth. Now a new series takes place except this time it will be with a 40 year time skip where the z fighters have passed except for piccolo and tarble who train goku jr and vegeta jr. At this point Cell and Frieza become god of destructions. Beerus resigns making one of them be the next candidate of God of destruction for universe 7 and the other becomes god of destruction of another universe that was brought back from the t.o.p. I think it is perfect to have frieza stay in universe 7 and cell go to a different universe to become god of destruction because cell has been made a name throughout the universe while cell has only been bounded to earth for about 3 years after future trunks first trip to the past a.k.a the beginning of the andriod saga. --Now the two things that I forgot to mention in here is more interaction with the broly character and the introduction of Uub.-- Then you can go from there, now I'm done.
Training wise, Cell would make good gains because of the Frieza cells, but not as much. A day in the chamber would probably bring him to the same level of gains as Frieza got. Skill wise, Cell would be a good tool-kit character like Roshi was, but stronger.

Cell would have been too OP. We all know it, Cell is the warrior with limitless potential who was still learning to master his body after being born into it about almost two weeks before the Cell games. Imagine if he had time to actually train for years like the others? Choosing Frieza was better for narrative and popularity purposes but we all know Cell would have been the perfect choice for a warrior on your side.
If he blew himself up continously, he would've probably reached Golden Perfect level from that sweet rebirth, and that would probably match with god ki. Sure, he won't be as powerful as Ultra Instinct, but I can imagine him at least being Super Saiyan Blue level.
Keep in mind he can mimic moves and energy by looking at it. He would learn god ki and split himself up to do the ritual on his own. UI would be easy seeing it requires a lot of stamina and energy. His stamina is unlimited and he can regen.

To answer a question brought in the video, yes Frieza is a prodigy. He and King Cold are mutants among their own race and are massively stronger than any other Frieza race character.

His potential is literally limitless. he has Frieza's prodigy, Vegeta and Goku's potential, Picolo's regeneration as well as Nappa, Krillin, Tien, Cold, Gohan. He had all their techniques, the instant transmission, can survive self destruct and become STRONGER and he STARTED stronger than Frieza. He would be a nightmare to face.

His potential is actually extremely limited. He is for all intents and purposes just a copycat of all the z fighters up to frieza. He has no techniques of his own, no attacks of his own, No imagination of his own, no style of his own. Cell Reached his max Potential at the End of the Cell saga.

Cell's motivations would have been easier to work with, for sure. His mentality is interesting, he has Vegeta's strategy, Freeza's ruthlessness, but also Goku's desire to fight strong people and push the limits. He could have been brought in with the lure of testing his abilities and going beyond perfection. Also it would be total awkward-sauce if he and Gohan trained together in the time chamber and I would so want to see that haha.

The show would have been 10x more hype for sure. I think having Cell, Buu and Frieza all on the universe 7 team would have been a literal DBZ vs DBS fight and the hype could not be contained.
All the heroes and villains of DBZ teaming up against something way more intense.
If that were the case, I would have merged all the universes at the end, because Goku doesn't want all losers destroyed or something. And then that resets the power scaling, because you can realistically have some fools that are more powerful than even Beerus. So now, you can have cool DBZ style arcs again.

Cell was my favorite villain by far. They could have easily dropped him in the time chamber for a few hours with Vegeta. That time they spend in the chamber could develop a bond between them.

Tyree Freeeman but Goku was no threat after the switch. Ginyu was unable to utilize Goku's body well but Goku was injured and not able to fight. This would essentially take Jiren out of the fight and Universe 7 would easily win.

The funny thing is I always saw Cell as being a far more sensible choice than Frieza. True he's nowhere near as strong as Frieza got but unlike Frieza he seems just far more amicable. Unlike Frieza who is untrustworthy and has a blinding hatred Cell strikes me as just a guy who likes to fight i.e. he's an amoral version of Goku. All in all it is interesting to think about what could've been.
He also is infinitely more versatile.

I honestly didn't like the fact they brought back Frieza so many times in filler, movies and in the anime. I honestly got really fucking tired of him and think that Cell would have been a much better character to bring in considering he has Piccolo's regeneration, Frieza's Potential and a Saiyan Zenkai Boost, you could just let one of the super saiyan blues blast half of his body off and then let him regenerate and gain a huge power boost. And considering the spots are annoying to draw they could just let him ascend to a new form- without spots. On top of that he really likes fighting and simply wants a good fight, unlike Frieza who's first instinct was to ask "Can I kill them?"

He would've been surprised to see Androids 17 and 18 alive, but the most important shock to Cell would be Gohan. Goku may have teleported Cell away to save the earth, but it was Gohan who killed Cell and sent the evil android to hell. It would've been cool to see a rematch between Gohan and Cell, which I think a lot of fans have been wanting to see. Remember, Cell is the reason that Gohan became so powerful.

@@sean.a.s7234 Well it takes time for Cell to do it and its splitting his energy into more bodies rather than creating new fighter with no cost. Think of it as cell cutting a chunk of his power down to put into a Cell Jr.
Plus the main reason we didn't see him is because the Z fighters probably didn't want to deal with a stronger smarter Cell on the lose. I mean think about it, if he got stronger to the point he could go toe to toe with super Saiyan god or Ultra Instinct he would be unstopable especially due to his regenerative ability. I mean he can come back even if there is a single cell left of him. Plus he hasn't come back at all making training or an increase in power imposibble fof Cell. So Frieza who is currently stronger than Cell would take less time to get up to par.
Compared to Frieza who is easily equal in power and is a much easier threat to deal with Cell just has too many risks involved. That and the Z Fighters have fought Frieza alot more than Cell so know his strength and weaknesses making him easier to co-operate with and assist.
Francis Harkins That would set up the fighters for a second Cell games, and honestly, seeing Gohan whoop himself into shape to take down cell again would be absolutely needed. Right now, he's still missing a backbone after being given it ON NUMEROUS occasions. Once before the Buu saga when he should've at least continued to train in order to prepare himself for the future (aka, the time gap between cell saga and Buu saga), then during the Buu saga he got his act together and got Mystic. That was when he should've learned to keep up the training in case of danger. Then he got beat, which should've further reinforced that to him. End of the Buu saga, what happens in super? We find out that he's not bothered training AT ALL and has reached an all time low! I know his dad just became a literal super Saiyan God, but jeez! He shouldn't have slacked. Then to get whooped in the ROF movie/saga.
Then the preliminaries. What happens? He does some good stuff, not gonna lie. But it's still not nearly as good as he *Could* have been. Instead, he slacks. Come the TOP? He needs Piccolo to give him a whoop up the ass to get him back to his peak again. THAT should cement the "if I don't train, I could loose everything." Mentality he needs to protect not only his family, but Earth too.
I'm willing to bet that Gohan's gonna continue this cycle in whatever comes next too. And I'll be just as pissed about it then as I am now.

In that timeline Buu was the most powerful villain. And so in Super, Frieza was chosen to have story about how his power level never reached his full potential because he said he never trained. So now his "Golden form" is more powerful to Buu's.

Yeah universe 7 wouldn't want cell chasing after its team the whole tournament trying to absorb them and then dropping them to 8 members. It would be funny for a little then annoying. Frieza has a larger back story than cell.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I forgot most of the part of Cell Saga. I think Cell gained his Super Perfect Cell from regeneration after he self destructed? That could be exploited. If he's dead (with halo), Goku could've just obliterated Cell over and over again thus making Cell grow more and more stronger for each time he regenerates.
If Cell has the same cells as Frieza, then Cell could train in the hyperbolic time chamber for like a day/year, transform into Golden Cell, and become infinitely more powerful than Frieza. I think the reason why they chose Frieza instead is because Cell is an unpredictable villain, knows everyone's attacks/weaknesses, can regenerate, and can fucking vore people with his tail.
Even if we assume that he can't actually get that Frieza like buff and turn into Golden Cell, his Zenkai boost alone would have him rivaling any of them after a certain amount of time when combined with his regeneration.
Now if you add that Frieza like buff ALONG with his Zenkai boost ALONG with his Regeneration ALONG with his ability to just pick up on techniques ALONG with his ability to absorb, like holy fuck - Cell is easily the best choice.

Pretty sure it was a joke but I have literally no need for a source when it comes to that. Those spots are going to be time consuming and annoying for basically ANY artist save for a select few that would be like "I think its relaxing". So I have no problem believing they didn't want him in the series because spots. I'm sure they discussed Cell and Frieza both and the defining decision was just Frieza being more popular but those spots must've come up as an issue for animating and getting episodes out on time.

I have an idea about what Cell's hell would be like, and the idea is based on Frieza's hell and the fact that Dabura was sent to heaven instead.
Frieza holds his power over all else - and not just his physical power, but his political and military power as well. He's also a sadist and actively enjoys preying on the weak. So, a bunch of teddy bears and fairies in a field of flowers singing and frolicking in front of the helpless tyrant is the perfect torment for him.
Similarly, Dabura would be right at home in hell, seeing as though he's basically king of a hell-like realm anyway. So he got sent to Heaven instead.
So, what is Cell's main aspect? Seeking perfection. So, Cell's hell would simply be him being denied that ultimate perfection. He'd be allowed to train all he wants, but constantly tormented with how he never truly was perfect and never will truly will be perfect, and that he's basically just a donkey following a carrot on a stick. And that hell would backfire, because Cell isn't just some ordinary being. Most people's ambitions are conscious, and as such they can become disheartened and left in a state of self-defeatism... but Cell's drive is subconscious, and a product of Dr. Gero's programing. Even if he consciously felt powerless, he'd keep going on, _forced_ by that very subconscious drive.
A Cell brought back in Super would be a terrifyingly powerful being indeed.

I'm surprised you didn't mention some things. Like how OP Cell might be considering he may essentially have (Double?) Infinite energy (thanks to absorbing the androids), and how much of a boon that was for 17/18. Cells skills and versatility on top of that could be insane. Maybe he could infinitely donate towards a Spirit Bomb of Goku's or his own. Or at least be able to abuse the ability to donate his energy like was used so many times throughout the ToP.
And like Buu, but different, it's easy to forget about his absorption being in his arsenal. It would depend on them writing it as such, but him absorbing energy from people, like he did in first form, could be written as it boosting his max power, as if he has infinite energy it wouldn't make much sense as doing anything useful. He could probably do that without killing people, instead just weakening them making for easier knock outs.
There also to consider, what if he reabsorbed 17 after all the power ups 17 got from fighting poachers?
I think Buu was written out purely cause he was to OP to write, with healing and an ability to leave little bits of himself around the ring. And Cell was probably passed over for the same reason. Lose/Lose either you write him properly, and he ends up being OP, or you don't and incur negative fan reaction.

I'm not sure what wavering you are talking about, but thinking about it now, that's true if you consider that he "recovered" from the sensu that Goku gave him before he fought Gohan. I was more trying to suggest that the writers had room to work with, but completely forgot about that. Kind of a shame that toriyama (probably accidentally) effectively reconned the infinite energy for Cell. If 17/18 had it, Cell should too.
Still, as far as asspulls, retcons and general writing wierdness goes in Super, I'd be more fine with him getting a retcon to have infinite energy than some of the shit we've been forced to swallow.

simply put, they didnt add him because he would be unstoppable. You can only stop him if you vaporize him, all of him, to the very last "Cell". So even if he wasnt that strong after getting the snot beat out of him, he would regen, become super strong from the saiyan cells, and continue till winning. If someone did kill him, they would be disqualified. If he is thrown off the ring, he can instant transmission back to any on the feel. He has unlimited stamina cause of the androids... he is just too op to add to the story and still make it compelling writing, unless at the end he derided at the end to fight goku or gohan before jiren, but he would most likely want to beat jiren first cause hes the strongest... and finally if goku used ultra instinct and cell saw it, he would figure it out super quick like goku and that would be a whole other mess, but yes would have made for a great new arc to watch. Anyways, cell would be too strong and that is the same reason they didnt use buu either, ultimate regen factor and eating people/combining, too hard to write anything that would make any logic since to why buu can't just eat everyone. Here is my thought on why Cell wasn't in the Tournament, and why he shouldn't be. I won't talk about power here since we know that could be easily altered. They would say something like "Cell has been training in hell for a while and now he is as strong as SSJ Blue", and that, tbh, is gonna be fine. Golden Cell, Ultra Cell, Ultimate Cell, fine. But what I considered to be the thing that would destroy Cell before he could even step foot into the ring, is that the knowledge he has is nowhere near what Frieza has. To be more simple, he doesn't know about Beerus. And chances are, he would have rubbed Beerus right on the wrong side (maybe he would pull a Goku and tease Beerus, doesn't listen to him or underestimated him), and chances are, Beerus would have destroyed Cell right before he could even finish one of his insults. At that point in time, Beerus would not be in the mood for a foul-mouth Cell, because his life was on the line. Here is what I think would happen if Goku brought Cell back instead of Frieza: Cell insults Beerus, says he is Perfect and no one controls him, Beerus gets mad and Hakai him, then orders Goku to get Frieza. And everything will progress like nothing changes.

It would be neat to see Cell mix the Ultimate Evolution (aka Golden Frieza) and the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (aka Super Saiyan Blue) to power up into a unique form. Plus, wouldn't coming back to life make Cell stronger thanks to Saiyan Power (Zenkai Boost)? Well, he wouldn't necessarily be coming back to life, since he would still have his halo. Additionally, it would be even funnier to see Goku teach Cell how to master God ki, which would force us to question why he has not taught it to either of his sons yet.

Cell is first and foremost a pride warrior, just like Vegeta. He would have eagerly wanted to compete against strong fighters like Jiren, not for world domination, only to surpass his limits, just like he allowed Gohan to transform into Saiyan 2 just so he could see Gohan's strength. And Cell has a certain code of honour, which Frieza does not have. Cell also has Saiyan cells, which means he could easily greatly improve in power. If both Android 17 and Frieza have gotten so strong as to compete with Goku Blue without doing a lot of training, imagine Cell, who likes to train, could become. If given the chance, Frieza would kill Goku in his sleep, while Cell would only do it after having given Goku the chance to fight him fairly. Even with the Super Dragon Balls, Cell would only probably just make the wish to be the strongest in the universe, while Frieza would wish for complete immortality and total world domination. Cell would have been a much better choice than Frieza.

Nah Krillin is stronger than Cell. Goku's base form in Super is stronger than SSJ3 in Z. Krillin could almost hold his own against goku's base form I'd say Krillin is atleast ssj2 level from Z. Meaning Krillin is stronger than Cell.
I hate Cell, but his healing and zenkai boost ability just may enable him to surpass Friezas golden form significantly. Cell would be on Jirens level or at least Toppos level easily with some training and fighting.

T N, I don't think he'd necessarily need the whole year but that's just me. Frieza didn't really have a worthy sparring partner himself so much as a living punching bag who was much weaker and look what he got done in just 4 months. Cell has that combined with Vegeta, Goku, Piccolo, and Tien's intense training will which skyrockets his training potential. I think Cell is the only one with the potential to actually reach or surpass Jiren within a year of training. I know it sounds like reaching but look at who he has inside him. I think its best to throw out tien for cell because master roshi has more tricky moves at his disposal despite being weaker. Now when Cell comes back, him and Gohan should be forced to take a risky move by having "ONLY" in the hyberbolic time chamber. Reasons for this is because:
1. Gohan will retain his ability to last longer in a fight like his did against super buu
2. Cell gets stronger all while releasing his anger in sparing sessions against Gohan
3. Gohan reaches past his limits and taps deeper into his mystic form
4. Cell can learn a new power based on Gohans mystic form
5. This makes Gohan have to keep up with is training after the T.O.P. so that Cell doesn't become stronger than him
6. This is not part of the list but imagine if Cell picked up on Friezas training technique that he used in R.oF, Cell would become more than god level and be able to travel faster than frieza especially since he has instant transmission. Also cell has saiyan cells inside him so he can get stronger throughout the t.o.p. before reaching Jiren. Now Frieza, Cell, Goku, Vegeta, and 17 get to face off against the final three opponents from Jirens universe. Jiren eliminates everyone but Cell and Frieza and the show ends off on a cliffhanger of who got the wish and what they wished for. Then the Dragonball Broly movie happens and by the end of that movie when Goku walks away from Broly, a SS4 saiyan that is unkown was watching the fight the entire time from a different universe. This gives the fanbase questions that were raised such as what/how many universes where brought back, what are Frieza and Cell doing currently, who is this unknown saiyan from a different universe. Also the SS4 saiyan is the person from Beerus's dream which he almost doesn't remember because that universe was erased. Then later on the fanbase doesn't know that the SS4 saiyan was the King Vegeta of that universe. Now this can give vegeta a reason to still call himself the prince even though this version of king vegeta is from a different universe. The universe with king vegeta has a Bardock who serves under him but he can only transform as high as ss2. Goku meets bardock who goku thinks is just a weaker version of himself but the vegeta from our universe knows who he is but keeps quiet anyways then the arc ends there. Then dragonball starts in a new arc exactly like the one with moro after the broly movie. Now Moro is capable of taking away goku and vegeta's power I think in the newer pages of the manga so the only way to overcome it is by figuring out how to go ss4. They ask king vegeta from the other universe but he only explains the nature of the tranformation and how to get there which brings just a small flashback moment to broly. King Vegeta can't cross over to universes to help goku and vegeta because thats their universes problem and he has his duty as king to fulfill........Goku and vegeta defeat moro using the ss4 transformation. The arc ends with whiz praising the ss4 transformation and explaining beerus's encounter with king vegeta from a different universe. Then the dragonball series ends with the next episode that shows Tarble, vegetas long lost brother, reuniting with vegeta on earth. Now a new series takes place except this time it will be with a 40 year time skip where the z fighters have passed except for piccolo and tarble who train goku jr and vegeta jr. At this point Cell and Frieza become god of destructions. Beerus resigns making one of them be the next candidate of God of destruction for universe 7 and the other becomes god of destruction of another universe that was brought back from the t.o.p. I think it is perfect to have frieza stay in universe 7 and cell go to a different universe to become god of destruction because cell has been made a name throughout the universe while cell has only been bounded to earth for about 3 years after future trunks first trip to the past a.k.a the beginning of the andriod saga.

Training wise, Cell would make good gains because of the Frieza cells, but not as much. A day in the chamber would probably bring him to the same level of gains as Frieza got. Skill wise, Cell would be a good tool-kit character like Roshi was, but stronger.

Cell would have been too OP. We all know it, Cell is the warrior with limitless potential who was still learning to master his body after being born into it about almost two weeks before the Cell games. Imagine if he had time to actually train for years like the others? Choosing Frieza was better for narrative and popularity purposes but we all know Cell would have been the perfect choice for a warrior on your side.
Cell should have took tien's place.

I really appreciate you doing these Cell related videos because Cell is my favorite dbz villain.
If he blew himself up continously, he would've probably reached Golden Perfect level from that sweet rebirth, and that would probably match with god ki. Sure, he won't be as powerful as Ultra Instinct, but I can imagine him at least being Super Saiyan Blue level.
Keep in mind he can mimic moves and energy by looking at it. He would learn god ki and split himself up to do the ritual on his own. UI would be easy seeing it requires a lot of stamina and energy. His stamina is unlimited and he can regen.

If he could use RoSaT to make the limited time prior to the tournament count? If they hand-held him (and Whis trained there)? If he learns god ki, picks up on golden (good luck on that without an example to work with), actually uses KK (like anim-only Goku keeps doing), develops Evolution (like Vegeta), etc. Doesn't even need to pick up Omen/UI antics to become a big deal.
NOTE: Ultimately, Buu is just way more valuable (healing, splitting himself around, turning people into harmless things **though maybe limited to them not being so much stronger than him if not just weird magical overrides through godly objects or whatever** without violating the no kill rule, absorbing **still not killing and can use lesser powered allies to power himself up even if they are tired out**, etc.).
