What amazes me is how many people were willing to give a young bright kid like him a chance.
He started working from when he was 12 and by the time he was 18, he had the skills and abilities to start his own print and was given housing and encouragement by various leading businessmen and even the governor himself!
And when we look at that time period, the youth were much better nurtured and encouraged than today.
We compare Franklin's experience with many youth today who are told to just focus on education and thus they graduate from college at like 21 or 22 with almost no real life skills and then have to struggle for the next decade with student loans and businesses not wanting to hire them or pay them well due to lack of experience (whereas Franklin already had a DECADE worth of experience by then and was given plenty of encouragement and support)

Benjamin Franklin was a great, not perfect, man. This is an excellent resource about his life. Well done to the reader and producer for such a monumental effort.

Benjamin was one of those, one o f a kind ...ahead of his time..so decent, humble , respectful, so many talents and gifts...narrator, ok...thank you to whoever make this possible..with gratitude..

NFL, AFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, CNN, MSNBC, FNN, movies, beer, whiskey, playboy, taxes, keeping up with the Jones, motorcycles, auto racing. I could go on forever, the list of distractions is endless. Man has no time to be thoughtful. That's all that Franklin was, a thinker and a doer. No radio or television or woman strutting around in their underwear outdoors. Start your day with 15min. of silence, write down your thoughts and act upon those thoughts and you can be the next Ben Franklin.

I know some people dislike Franklin for what he did to his wife, cheating on her a lot. But I'd still say he was far more good then bad not just in the 'real world' but hopefully in his perosnal too, I hope. Nobody hates on Martin Luther King Jr for cheating on his wife all the time. Both men worked hard in the world.

He probably worked all day, and only did one take. So he slowed down and becomes choppy when he struggles or loses flow.
But goddamn, is it hard to pay attention with the unnatural flow of language.
