Sims 4 DLC model is such a scam and it has been running for a decade. Not only some packs are not worth the money, someof them are broken upon release! There is no turning back to Sims 2 or Sims 3 EP model where every pack is packed with content and you will spend months just trying out new gameplay.
which is honestly so sad/crazy to think about, i kind of want to call EA “lazy” and “careless” because they will release broken DLCs…there was only one GP to receive an update, Spa Day & that was it 🤦🏽♀️ atp I just feel as if they don’t care
I have all TS3 Collection that I legally bought but when EA play replaced Origin my game just would not work anymore. So what I had to do to make it work is use G4W 1.67 version. Now I can play and enjoy the game off line. As for TS4, in my opinion, it is too lackluster to play. And even heavily modded you need to constantly upgrade the mods in order to play because the game keeps patching itself. So, aside from the horrendous prices EA practices, TS4 is a big no for me.
after origin became the EA app, i hated the way in which i had to deal with launching up my game, it feels like EA app is just not compatible with older games at times…especially TS2 UC, but i don’t disagree, some TS4 packs seem fun but half the time they are broken
Pretty sure an expired licensing agreement or something of the like is the 'block' on the Katy Perry Sims 3 pack situation. Also Instant gaming has packs pretty cheap for Sims 3 and 4. With Sims 4 the downside is you don't get the bonus items even if you buy it within the EA bonus item window. But I have gotten all the bonus items as CC via modders. The only problem is the gallery doesn't recognize them as in my game so if a build uses them, it will be yeeted out or replaced. But still, rather save the money.
i think that’s the case too! however, i didn’t think instant gaming had TS3 & TS4, i generally use it for my console games, but honestly that’s nice to know! I used CDKeys to purchase the rest of my EPs and SPs for TS3 (they were as low as $5 😅)
@ literally! was so lucky to have caught the i-love-the-sims code ea did away with in 2015. that code gave users the sims 2 ultimate collection (all packs and expansions ever) for completely free. you can def torrent without fear of your internet provider sending threatening letters tho. i can drop a link if you’d like.
EA knows how many people are going back to TS3 so they won't be lowering the price any time soon. As for the TS4 packs, it's atrocious that they charge $40 for something that usually has half or less than half the content of comparable packs in previous games. I know the excuse is that cults and animals are more detailed, but what that actually translates to is battle pass type gameplay to unlock levels and prizes. To me personally that feels more like homework than fun player driven gameplay. Just my opinion. If the gameplay on its own merit was more immersive they wouldn't have to keep adding all those tasks that have come with newer packs.
i don’t disagree, it’s actually crazy to me that they haven’t migrated to charging less for packs as more comes out and they know people will buy them because of “experience” and others being scared to own illegal versions of the game…a never ending cycle 😪

@@CozyGirlSimmer Let's be honest, refreshes don't bring EA profits so they won't do it anymore
@ i don’t disagree, “free fixed updates” will never be a standard for EA unfortunately

i’m stuck on the sims 2
ts2 deserves to be available to everyone who wants it, i hate that EA has made it beyond difficult to acquire it 😪
