She is nor divine- she is a good talented person but certainly not Divine. Use words carefully
Lata ji is talented but racist deep down.
She is also extremely arrogant and is highly pressuring when dealing with people.
Western listener find her voice squeaky and limiting- whereas Bee Jee ( staying Alive) can sing high pitch middle pitch and low pitch.
Lata hi has a very limited pitch range.
Personally she is highly over rated as is madam Noor Jahan.
Her era is over ....

For that reason, you are totally UNQUALIFIED to issue judgement or opinions on
Lataji's " pitch " range....unless & until you wipe off or set aside your so called
" Western culture " and dwell deep into sub- continent or Eastern culture, you simply will not have the yardstick of passing judgement on Lataji's range & quality of singing skills...Fundamentally, what is missing in your body is the heart or, more precisely, the
SPIRIT SOUL which is where profounf joy, happiness & other emotions are registered
when Lataji is singing her melodies. You are musically illiterate. Your judgement on Lataji is at a superficial, shallow intellectual level...which is the level at which most Western singers perform....in short, most Western singers sing to appeal listeners at bodily
( intellectual ) level but NOT at the spiritual level ...
Most Western singers don't sing from their HEART ( which is where the spirit soul resides ) . To sum up, you need to develop yourself spiritually.

Amazing! Even in this age of her life she sang flawlessly, sweet and soft voice like honey and down to earth personality as well. What a magical voice, my family is too related to voice, naats and singing I can truly say that even and this age 88 (when interview was recorded) her voice is absolutely flawless and not changed too much. And the way she was talking to Kamran shahid is the whole other level of politeness and humbleness. Too down to earth. What a great loss of music.
She will always be my favourite ❤. Kudos to Laga G.

You should watch the extended version of the interview. Lataji gave her best interviews to Pakistani journalists (and to Javed Akhtar ) because they knew how to to compliment and praise her and Pakistan was her biggest market and I think Lataji liked the Pakistanis, starting with Noor Jehan, whom she regarded as her guru.
