What is so shocking? Not only is it his singular dream job, but personally Schlossnagle and Del Conte have been best friends for several years. And professionally, they obviously know they work great together from several years experience. Quit feeling sorry for the Aggies. They dominated the first game then Aggied up the next two just like anybody could have predicted. Then lost their coach the next day to the constant lifelong penthouse tenant in their heads the next day. But they are used to it. They are Aggie and that’s what being Aggies is.

Within hours of stating I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again, and that hasn’t changed in my mind… then taking another job…money> character in his heart. Not only to LEAVE but to go to THAT school?? There’s a whole lot of Ags in Austin. You will be getting a mouthful for sure.
This is strange but true. The Austin Former Student club is the largest one in the world? I’m class of ‘83 graduate and I find that hard to believe but I am told it is true. In recent years the A&M former student club and the Texas Ex club actually had happy hours together! I doubt that will happen this next season(s).
Texas got money, but let's not forget Texas A&M got money also. Let's see who Texas A&M hire before we decide if Texas really stuffed Texas A&M in a locker. Maybe Texas A&M learned from the Jimbo hire.

@@josecuellar3620 Yes, coaches do move on and I don’t want to hold anyone back, but this was back alley shady. I’m actually glad he showed his true character and moved away from A&M. Sure he’ll feel right at home at tu. You are right, teaching my kids life lessons is my job and hopefully most of A&M’s players’ parents upheld their responsibility and those players saw right through him. Once a kid leaves your household, he/she is susceptible to unsavory characters’ influence. We just trust that our influence outweighs unsavory influences.

if players weren't aloud to follow coaches around then character would still be used as a quality players looked for in recruiting. Players wouldn't originally commit to coaches that might leave after two seasons.

As an Aggie married to a sip and living in Austin, I can tell you one thing for certain; he'll fit right in down on the 40 acres. Also, I appreciate the need for "hot takes", but he's known Del Conte for over a decade. I mean, it's not that surprising. My problem is just with the implied meaning of his statements after the game.

One of the worst parts was Texas purposely canning their coach the morning of the championship game. Texas could have waited 1 freakin day to announce that. They wanted to cause a distraction for A&M. Not saying A&M would have won (Tenn was awesome). But Texas announcing that the morning of the championship game was a distraction for A&M and totally low class. I would never want A&M to stoop that low. You wait until after the season is over.

This also happened less than two months ago, with a lower porfile sport. Less than 48 hours after Bob Bowman(coach of Michael Phelps and many other olympians) led Arizona State to the NCAA Championship he accepted the head coach job at Texas, replacing Eddie Reese. In his 45 year run at Texas, Reese won 15 NCAA Swimming Chanpionships.

Schloss wasn’t hired by the current AD at a&m. So he doesn’t have any familiarity with the new guy but has a history with CDC. The decision isn’t as hard as folks make it.
