Thanks for the review y'all! One thing I've learned since making a food product business is that taste is incredibly subjective. I can make a flavor that some absolutely love and others truly hate. Same here~ along w/super clean ingredients, they're also the best value, calorie wise. Complete nutrition that tastes this good is hard to find. I make my own version & cannot do it for any less, overall~based on buying either 2 wks or a month's worth at a time. Price drops dramatically w/quantity purchased. We've been traveling for 6 months, so I've not been able to order~ I miss them. Amazing product, company & customer service. (*shout out to Elaine🌼) Keto Brick has nailed it, imho. 🎯
Ok. Keep brick is either you love them or hate them. I've been buying them for 3 years now. Here's something that I've noticed. I do not or almost never eat keto sweets. And when I do they are always too sweet. Keto bricks are like a treat for me. I think they are almost too sweet. But that's the difference. You eat sweet keto treats. So the taste is off for you. I do think that the peanut butter (not peanut butter cup) is the best choice. It uses a different protein powder that gives it a different mount feel and taste. Also the first time I had them. I didn't like them either. It was once I got about half way through the bar that I started liking them. I also didn't want to waste them. Otherwise I would have never known. Now I eat them as full bricks and love them.
Yup taste very sweet to me ! Love them melt them down and make breakable bars with them . 1/4- 1/2 oz sizes . Perfect snack for kiddo . Better then sweet sugary crap . Plus loaded with steric fatty acids which is brain 🧠 fuel !
I like the bricks. I melt them and put them into small molds (i get about 12 'pucks' per brick) then keep them in the freezer. For me they are a sub for something sweet after a meal. They have enough sweetness for me and satisfies that craving. With the macros they have it also helps with satiation.
That was my experience too. They seem to be more satiating than "keto snacks." I noticed they have plenty of salt. That may have something to do with it.
I think it is the stevia. If they used monk fruit or erithrol the bars might not taste so nasty. The Chocolate brownie first bite had us so excited, then that stevia aftertaste bitter hit. Once i figure out how to doctor them up to disguise that bitter taste I will use them.
I'd like to go on record to say the owners of Keto Brick are wonderful people and their product is loved by many. No product is for everyone, but I wish them the best.
I wasn't reviewing the owners. We reviewed the product, and as much as we hoped we would like it and despite giving it 6 chances to leave a positive impression with us, we didn't care for it.
Hey, there's something you said towards the end which is a BIG thing for me in my life so I thought I'd share. "I don't want to throw out food or be wasteful." I think this is a big reason I've struggled with food. Once I got past being obligated to eat things I got and didn't like, or someone gave me or I spent money on or just for no reason. Once I made the decision it was okay to throw away food and relieve my obligations to whatever feeling that comes from it was freeing. Plus it has saved me from consuming thousands of calories of food I did not NEED to eat. Reminds me, I have a bucket of terrible sugary mix of garbage someone gave me over the holidays, I should not feel bad to throw away their "gift" I am not responsible to eat it. And no one in my family would benefit from eating, it needs to go out to the trash. People have sweet sentiments giving us things, and I'm choosing to appreciate the love and kindness they gave and not take that responsibility of eating it. They wouldn't know anyway. Just be free. Hope that helps someone today. ❤️😊
Sounds like a real option for hiking where very high calories per ounce that can stay shelf stable for weeks are optimal. Hikers are Hungry and will eat virtually anything. Sending a resupply box to a remote area and finding your food spoiled when you are So Hungry is tear inducing.
I feel bad to see so many people saying thanks for this review because now they won't try this product based on what Steve and Courtny think. Please remember that taste can be so subjective. Also, the owners of this company, Robert and Crystal Sikes are two awesome people that do so much for the Keto community. They are probably two of the most honest and ethical company owners out there and have helped countless people in their Keto journeys.
That's what a review is: an opinion. We wanted to like these, but we didn't. If I had an ax to grind with Keto Brick (which I don't), I'd just delete all of the positive comments from people who like the product. Their opinions are as valid as mine and no less honest. @@johngeoghegan8893 I appreciate your clarification. I plan to do more experimenting with those bricks, and if I find that there's a way to prepare them that I enjoy, I'll certainly do a follow-up review.
These are awesome - nootropic best flavor ! My 6 year old loves them for snack -melt them down into 1oz bars you can break into 1/4 oz pieces . Freeze and enjoy
I like the bricks but I'm partial to toasted almond coconut and milk and cookies. I could never eat the whole brick but I use it for snacking and since it is shelf-stable, it works for me. I don't look at them as a sweet or savory snack, just something to up my fat macros. I haven't tried melting it into a smaller quantity but I definitely will now.
Steve, your facial expression at 15:00 told it all. I’ve tried them myself and found the grittiness something I couldn’t get by. I’m sure that for others it may not be as bad.
I haven’t had a keto brick in a long time, but I must admit I respect the owners so much my opinion may be biased, as I remember the bricks being tasty. Robert (his wife also, and their team from what I can tell) remind me very much of you - genuine, sincere, transparent… the real deal. 😊
So funny how different people's palates are! I LOVED the 2 Keto Bricks I tried (Macadamia Madness & Butter Maple Pecan,) so much so they're irresistible so I have to self-limit! I haven't tried the rest for the aforesaid reason, but you could send any & all unused portions to me! Thanks for the fun video & the reminder of how we all are different!
So y'all are not really fans 🤣🤣🤣. I am another one that likes to melt them down into pucks then sprinkle with smoked salt and let harden back up. Use them to finish off meals or as a quick nosh if can't eat right a full meal at the moment. They do grow on you. They weren't meant to be candy bars just high fat quick go to food.
I searched for this, because a friend of mine, on really long ultra marathon races, who’s keto to low-carb he said when he’s trying to run the whole thing on fat, this is what he does. He takes one of those that he gets the thing, and separates it, somehow, into about five different servings, and put them in plastic bags in his a pack, no you didn’t say anything about the taste but you know you’re just trying to get fuel to finish your race talk like you know half a day a couple days out so that’s it
Thanks so much for trying to review the bricks. I tried them very early on in my journey and just couldn't stomach them. I tried multiple flavors. My heart breaks for Robert & Crystal if they watch the review. They are great people in the keto space I will say that. I agree there is a target audience for this product and like y'all, I am not in that audience. I would keep them around for winter-emergency food. For those who haven't tried them, it is a full meal replacement. This is not any kind of snack/protein bar. The macros are excellent if you track and at 1k calories, this is hefty. I would try to eat half at one meal and half at the other. If you travel, camp, hike, etc. this is something to consider. Steve and Courtney, thanks for taking one for the team.
Maybe... They sent me some new bars and I need to try them all out. I had half of one the other day after lifting weights and enjoyed it quite a bit. These definitely feel like workout fuel.
Also glad this was an honest review so often on these there are creators who are friends with the product and create krazy videos on how great things are. Honesty is so refreshing and appreciated. Thank you again.
I didn’t like KBs when I first tried them, but I’m a fan now. They are sweet enough and keep me satiated. I usually eat 1/4 brick for breakfast. I’m going to get some molds and make smaller portions. You should give them another try Steve.
I really enjoy the Keto Bricks. They have been very helpful in my ketogenic journey (125 lbs gone, inflammation and fibromyalgia flares are in the past) Ingredients are super clean and they are very satiating. I believe some people think this is a sweet treat, but this is a full meal with perfect keto macros. Robert and Crystal Sykes run their business with transparency and this is something you don't see that much these days. Sorry you didn't enjoy them.
$12.00 is if you buy just 1 brick. I never buy less than a week's worth of bricks which brings them to about $8.40 a brick. You have to remember these are 1000 calories each. If you buy 7 you will pay about $.008 per calorie as compared to a keto bar that is 200 calories and cost $3. For that bar you will pay $.015 per calorie. So, it is actually a great value. When you look at it that way it is almost half the price of a typical keto bar. If you buy 14 day or 30 day supplies, it is even a greater value. I think buying 30 at a time brings them down to a little over $6'00 a piece ($.0063 a calorie).
lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo im dead lol! Courtney and her facial expressions are everything! I'm so glad i saw this review! I was THINKING about buying them but I'm good!
Wow, scathing review! 😄 I'm a Brick lover, but it is very niche. It is not a treat, or a snack. It is shelf stable, super clean, portable macros-to-go. I keep one in my purse as a "just in case" option and bite right into it. I can totally finish a whole one, but usually only when I'm at a theme park or some other place with mostly overpriced carbage food options and I'm exerting myself. I know some people like to let them melt in a pocket or backpack and then nip the corner off the package and slurp the melted goo out like a squeeze pack. I would not expect a non-keto person to ever enjoy them but maybe try a bit here and there over the next few weeks, Steve, and see if they grow on you. The Nootropic is my favorite, but fair warning, that one does not melt as well as the others.
I spent last three months eating “healthy grains, oats, beans, sweet potatoes…” after reading a book about how healthy that eating is for us. Well, I was hungry constantly, felt lazy and was sad too often. I gained 4 lbs but look pudgy. So, I bought low carb type books about how bad wheat and grains are etc. I ate this way for years but feared it was bad after hearing ppl talk about healthy plant based eating etc. I now know- on a completely personal level- that keto is best. My pudge is melting, I am happier and have a lot of energy. Anyway, I am glad to be watching yor great vids. I never stopped but turned off notifications. I am back! You have the best content. And you age backwards which should have been proof enough for me. Thank you.
I've only ever had the original flavor, and it is good. But I don't think that this is for people who want to snack on something to satisfy a craving. It's for people who work out often and want a macro-friendly way of getting calories in them. At least, that is why I bought mine.
Finally a honest review but I have purchased some wanted to like them because I like the idea and them as a company. I keep them in my work desk for emergency food.
We use them often. As both me and my wife are athletes. We can have these in the bag and they hold a lot better than protein bars and are cheaper than quest bars Nola bars or any other keto bar I have tried calorie for calorie. JW sent the flavors I did not really like either. I buy a lot of the toasted almond coconut and mocha. They are also more designed as a savory meal replacement then sweet in my opinion. They are a niche product for sure. Thanks for doing the review it was fun to watch 😊
I had issues with the texture too. So I melt them into pucks and I add 1 tbs of the solid coconut oil when I melt it. That seems to make the pucks much creamier and less crumbly. And I think it actually helps the flavor. I love them this way. Loved this review.. thanks
I missed this review when it came out, but I came to check it out after your podcast. I don't buy Keto Brick. My family (not keto) would agree with all your opinions. I (keto) think it is so delicious that I overeat it. It tastes like candy to me, and I can't control myself. 😄 Taste is truly subjective.
Good on you, Steve, for not jumping in when Courtney "paused for promotional effect" 🙂 Courtney, love your humor - I'm originally from Missouri, but we (lovingly) refer to it as "misery." I almost snorted coffee out my nose at " a taste I can't identify as something in nature." LOL so glad you are willing to take one for the team! This whole episode had me chuckling pretty much non-stop, thank you both so much!! Maybe you have discovered the flavor of madness 🙂
Do you remember on Firefly when Kaylee made Simon a birthday cake out of the protein paste, space food stuff? That's what this video reminds me of 😂 Glad to see in the comments that this product works out for some folks and they really like it. Whatever helps on the keto journey.
I’m a fan of the Keto Brick company for their ethics and for sharing their body optimization tactics with the world. Their Live Savage YT channel and podcast is great. I have met them at conferences and first taste reacted the same way you did. The next year, I bought a 7-day supply. 😂 I don’t work out enough to justify getting my nutrition through the bricks but appreciate the macros for those moments when I want something sweet. I also think they’d be great for a way to take good nutrition along for long hikes or activities like sporting events or hunting. I’m not their target demographic. It would have been interesting if you’d done glucose and ketone testing before and after the sampling. I love your candid reviews and Courtney’s perspective, too!
I like these but also melt them into little molds. I'm glad other replies like them. They last me a week this way. Yes, they have a unique taste and texture. They are an acquired taste. This reminds me we all have different tastes.
I love Keto Bricks. I melt them into pucks and have one every now and then. I also make keto chow cookies with the lemon snap recipe but I used raspberry cheesecake flavor and dip the cookies in melted keto brick. That’s the best!
I love these bricks and I’m guilty of eating a whole brick through out the day. I’ve taken out all “keto treats “ and these taste sweet to me. The milk and cookies are now my new favorite.
I do not like Keto Brick to eat as a brick. I melt them down and mix them with Magic Spoon cereal, unsweetened coconut and almonds and make small one bite fat bombs out of them.
Steve, I'm with you on Keto Bricks. I hate the grittiness!! I have been told to try some not made with Pea Protein, and I have, still the same result to me with those made with Whey Protein (I think that's the alternative). My husband likes them-I simply melt them down into 8 pcs. per brick, then refrigerate them. He likes them and will have one every once in a while!
I remember Neha from Switch Grocery in Canada making different kinds of keto bark by melting on a tray in oven and freezing then breaking into pieces. Never tried it. Bought a brick and couldn't eat it plain. Got a kick over your expressions.
I like keto brick I like that you can melt them down and pour them into molds and store them in the fridge or on the counter and take two or three with you they don’t melt unless it’s about over 80° The maple pecan is a seasonal one or a limited one. I’m hoping to bring that one back.
My husband and I love the keto bricks melted into pucks. A couple of the pucks soothe ours cravings. They really great to take along with us when we are out or on road trips. The chocolate peanut butter is our favorite.

lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo im dead lol!
I wouldn't call it "scathing". We tried very hard to like these, but it just didn't happen.
I melt them down & pour into candy bar molds. I like it better in smaller doses.
I love when you have Courtney on the show! She’s funny and lively and adorable! You two are such an awesome father/daughter team! 💕😊
Crumbled like Halvah.
Love seeing you two. 🥰
Thats exactly what I was thinking of
I had issues with the texture too. So I melt them into pucks and I add 1 tbs of the solid coconut oil when I melt it. That seems to make the pucks much creamier and less crumbly. And I think it actually helps the flavor. I love them this way. Loved this review.. thanks
I use the keto brick as the base for my fat bombs.
Lol, Courtney's expression hahahaha
It reminds me of a pemmican bar....the original survival food.
Great reference
Thank you thank you for making this review! I had debated on getting these but the cost always made me hesitate.
Wow I know what to but love the impressions on your and Courtney's faces love her hair
One of my favorite reviews you’ve done - faces and your comments just made me smile. I’m pretty certain I won’t be trying these anytime soon!
Courtney, you said it was better at the end. You ate Army chow, so your taste buds are permanently broken.
Love the Tee shirt lol !!
I like these but also melt them into little molds. I'm glad other replies like them. They last me a week this way. Yes, they have a unique taste and texture. They are an acquired taste. This reminds me we all have different tastes.
I feel like you and Courtney took one for the team!! 😂😂 Thanks Steve!
What is device you use to blend eggs? Did not see on your amazon list

I love Keto Bricks. I melt them into pucks and have one every now and then. I also make keto chow cookies with the lemon snap recipe but I used raspberry cheesecake flavor and dip the cookies in melted keto brick. That’s the best!
Sounds yummy!
Maybe those pucks would be best on the hockey ice.
Love bricks. Chocolate peanut butter and the maple pecan are my favorites. I melt into 1 ounce pucks
I'll be sure to keep an eye out for these during the zombie apocalypse 🤣
Exactly what I was thinking.
I love, love, love Courtney's comments and expressions! She is def getting more comfortable in front of the camera!
Thanks Steve & Courtney! I've been looking for shelf stable Keto *survival* food. Just ordered some. Can't thank you & *J* enough!
I agree, I didn’t like the one I got. So funny, some people think it’s so great!
I love the Keto Bricks! Sorry you didn’t like them. Your viewers should give them a try.
I remember Neha from Switch Grocery in Canada making different kinds of keto bark by melting on a tray in oven
and freezing then breaking into pieces. Never tried it. Bought a brick and couldn't eat it plain.
Got a kick over your expressions.
Finally, a 1000 calorie fat bomb. 😂
I like them when I travel... and am unsure of what meals will be like.
I like keto brick I like that you can melt them down and pour them into molds and store them in the fridge or on the counter and take two or three with you they don’t melt unless it’s about over 80° The maple pecan is a seasonal one or a limited one. I’m hoping to bring that one back.
They do wrk for keep you going when hunting and carrying a pack
We're probably going to film a follow up video today.
My husband and I love the keto bricks melted into pucks. A couple of the pucks soothe ours cravings. They really great to take along with us when we are out or on road trips. The chocolate peanut butter is our favorite.
Awesome video, love the honesty. But Courtney with her head down after tasting the product said it ALL!! 😂😂
