Amazing how toxic family members remember the ignored member AFTER tragedy strikes. Though I have to admit that the favoritism did help fuel their downfall.
They also had no shame, when they feel almighty they treat their less favorite daughter like a trash but when she became better and success they try to leech her when they are in trouble

i went to school for years to become a pediatrician and my sisters and brothers worked hard too and we all made it.
Our family name doesn’t get us far even though it’s historic so my parents taught us to chart our own paths
and we live happily because we worked hard!
It's the same with my family name on both sides. We don't have much prestige but me and my younger siblings managed to get to where we are through hard work.

My father’s last name is Miyamoto but it never went to his head. Interestingly enough he values my husband because he’s a combat veteran. My father told me before i was married “that man you brought to me has the responsibility and respect of a warrior he is suitable he is a Man”.

You can get to a point where you are so angry with someone you start feeling calm. The mention or idea of them don't bring up anything but calmness, or as most would call it "detachment" or "not feeling anything." It's normal, not a sign of harshness. It's how your body and mind choose to react to your "fight or flight" response to something that used to cause you stress.

Your toxic family need to be put away because what planet did they fall off. I will always say this a sisters bond can be strong but when your family divided the both of you up that was a mistake you never treat each one differently, both of you should have been treated equally it's not about who's smart it's about parents careing for the both of you. What I don't get because you were not fast in school or slow your parents should have helped you more, as for your sister she was the dumb one and your parents spoiled her. You did right by cutting them a lose, I know what your mom did was wrong to you, but the worst thing I would not wish cancer on any my reason I am a cancer survivor for nine years. In life we all get punished and your family did out of everyone your sister was a Trip, she needs to get help it's not about going to the best college it's about being true to yourself. In the end to say we are family she was never taught want it meant and you don't treat some one terrible and expect help.
