So let's take a look.... Well Bobby, you have been, drinking, sailing, chasing girls half your age. Your hair is SOILD gray but you die it. Now after years of living the life most single older males dream of. You ask, should I go back to been a pilot.
Bobby, did you hit your head. Is Amanda telling you to get a job. Try this out....
Wake up at 3am..... Eat, shower, dress in a suit, grab your bag, race to a airport.
Run,.... Get to the gate, stop, go sit in a chair... Call Amanda, have her, tell you what to do for 10 hours. Eat, a crap sandwich, drink old coffee. Then jump up, grab your bag, go get your car. Get stuck in traffic, get home, have Amanda, tell you what to do for 4 hours, watch the news. Then, repeat that same thing for 7 days with no breaks....😂😅😂😅😂,.... Sure... Bobby, go back and be a pilot.
Just retired at 60.5 from flying for the last 4 decades. Spent the last almost 8 years flying ems with crazy hours. Don’t miss it one damn bit. You fell onto a great life track Bobby.

The best thing to do with the trolls is to ignore, don’t feed the strays, they will keep coming back. It’s more professional as well. You have a lot of class and after meeting you I know you are a genuine, very good guy. Keep up the good!

I vote yes to fly...the U-Tube thing was good during the pandemic but now time to get back to work.
LSA….cheap, fun, no medical.
Basic medical all you need no attorney's check it out. Since you had a valid medical at one time just need a doctor to sign off not an AME. It has a one time SI requirement list of things doesn't mention stroke. You never lost consciousness.
I watched your video/podcast when asked Amanda what percentage of time she would prefer to be on a boat vs on land. I wonder if her answer will change when you get the Island Spirit? I would think a 52’ cat would be much more enjoyable than your very small power boat.

I’m a corporate pilot who was force to retire due to a retire due to a stroke. I have a passion for flying as well as sailing. Basic med is an option that meets all legal requirements assuming you never failed a medical.
Do you have any future plans to make money beyond Utube like run charter trips with your new cat?

I guess it all depends on how you need to make money Bobby. If you need to fly part time, you used to love it and you can make some cash then why not? Give er! We're only on this rock 1 time. Sometimes (most times) we humans overthink stuff. Go for it!

I agree Bobby. Raymarine was not my favorite. My Simrad was truly a quality unit. Best autopilot too. The Raymarine in dash I had didn’t compare to my buddies Garmin handheld. We used that more when we went on vacations together on my boat.
You yourself have documented the potentially dismal future of TH-cam as a career. At least an ATP would enable you to be available on a career for which you paid dearly to establish yourself. On the other hand, if you don't want to, don't.

Bobby, you may want to look into F.A.A.'s Basic Med program that lets you fly personally without an official medical certificate.
Not sure if Bobby would qualify. Here’s the verbiage for pilots who had previous issues with their FAA medical certificate:
Pilots whose most recent medical certificate has been revoked, suspended, or withdrawn, had his or her most recent application denied, or authorization for special issuance withdrawn, will need to obtain a new medical certificate before they can operate under BasicMed.
So it sounds like Bobby would need to have a class III with special issuance (for the stroke) before he could apply for basic med.
In that case, he could just fly under the class III.
No need to fix something that ain’t broken, Bobby.

I recently got my medical back after a health issue. It was worth it because I was successful. However, it was very frustrating, expensive, and difficult. The requirements for light sport are lower and the aircraft are becoming very functional.
Haven't watched this yet.
Long time mariner. Got bit by the sailing bug a long time ago.
Taylor (yes that Taylor, post SV Delos) was once discussing the fact that she would never solo on open water. She refused to solo citing her self assessment that she just clearly was wigged out by the reality of the safety implications. That's a mariner in droves.
In perspective there are mariners like Laura Dekker who have that confidence in droves, that confidence in their ability to have situational awareness.

Don’t bother with flying again it’s not what it was …….ive been there and done that finished at 60 ……can’t be doing with all the renewals in the sim every 6 months ..! You have a far better lifestyle.! 😊❤

The question is do you want to or not, first loves are hard to get rid of but do you need the stress or the hassle of going to retraining. The blue pill or the red pill.

Love the pod cast but I do not like the camera angle changing every so many seconds. i saw the past video on why your doing it / trying it but for a pod cast I think we are having a conversation (or your talking to us). No need for the quick angle change. I understand it on the normal channel. Just my opinion...I am not an expert (or novice). Do what works.

Sure you always have a few ass holes who say “ I can work the contract and maybe fly 7 days a month”. Good for you! I miss the flying not the job. I really feel bad for those net jet guys doing 7/7. I think a good job would be a 91 private owner flying 100-200 hours max or something that just doing out and backs. Those are few and far between and likely not going pay as well.
20 years at the QS. Another 10 at the regionals. Life on the road gets old. But it pays for my boat porn. A buddy of mine asked me if I wanted to go half on a twin Comanche I said, why would I want to do such a thing. lol. After 20k hours in the air I’m good.
