      Leather boots can never be truly "waterproof" but "water resistant". The conditioner makes the leather water resistant. Water will find the smallest hole or crack and infiltrate it on any object.

    Don’t let the carbon toe cutting easily fool you, a layer of carbon that thick will be EXTREMELY impact resistant. There’s no way that is breaking easily. Not only that but carbon composite has the ability to flex, where a steel toe won’t.

    • @josebravo7337

    The main argument for me to buy boots in this category: My employer allows me to expense an annual pair of safety toe shoes & the maximum reimbursement benefit is $165.

  • @qv81

    Bigest difference between composit and steel toe is that once You get crushed in a steel toe it stays crushed with the fingers inside. And the composit toe springs back and is easier to remove the foot. Here in Norway in many building sites we are forbiden to wear steal toe boots for this reason and the foreman in the morning will check the shoes with a magnet.

    • @takuame7
      @takuame7 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've literally had a riding lawn mower (not a zero turn, and it was the rear so the heaviest part) fall on my foot while wearing steel toe and the steel didn't budge even a little. Wtf do you guys have falling on your feet that it crumples the damn steel toe!? But arguably I wear steel toe over composite sense I do landscaping and have had a few run ins with blades hitting my feet, thankfully the steel did its job and was fine the leather ontop not so much lol

    • @qv81
      @qv81 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @@takuame7 For example building a sports arena and mounting steel beams supporting the span of the whole roof weighing meny tons. Im not saying there is a difference when it falls on your foot, but when it is turning slowly on the crane and You are bolting it down the force would crush the toe easly. Then when it retracts it would leave the foot in a crushed boot you can not take off in the hospital so easly. While the composite goes back to its shape. This is just one exaple. But we had this issue mostly while around heavy cranes whil constructing industry.

    I am on my 3rd pair of Ariat Endeavour and love them. They have actually lasted me the longest of all the boots that I have worn working in a railyard for nearly 30 years. Walking in ballast just shreds the soles of most boots, my Timberlands lasted 2 months in the ballast before the soles ground down, but Ariat lasted nearly 2 years on all 3 pairs I have worn. Climbing on the railcars takes a toll as well. That cushioned sole of the Ariat has been the most comfortable I have worn yet. Breathable in the heat , have worked in temps in over 118° in summer, kept my feet from roasting. Waterproof is one of the great features of the Ariat Endeavour as it rains a lot here and kept my feet bone dry. Ariat really makes a quality product.

    These kinds of boots are very nice for a "casual" worker, or just as "drinking boots". And with that kind of use, they last for years, unlike similar style hiking shoes, which have soles so soft that they wear out in a year. Toe caps, heel caps and puncture resistant soles are also good. Best of all, when these boot hit clearance sales at the end of the season, they can be had for a quarter (or even less) of their original price!

And they’re a little stiff at first for most of my hunting but they ended up being great boots so far for longer hikes hunting etc. and I liked them so much I ended up buying the Kenetrek safari boot which has a thinner shank for more flexibility to use as a hiking and more everyday wear boot.

    I think the red shank is not really a shank that is common in other boots. Because it is not just long, but it seems wide and protrude to the outside forming part of the whole "pre-sole" design. I also think the red shank also acts as an extra puncture resistant piece. If you ask me, this looks a lot like a space boot. I wonder if anyone would but this and recolor it white, silver or grey, leaving the red and black pieces intact. It would look like an awesome space boot.

      Thats great. However you can pay just a little more for a $200 boot and get way more longevity. For example, my Chippewa USA workbooks were $200 and have a gyw, full grain leather, and have a very comfortable removable insole. Not to mention that they look pretty decent as well compared to these. Im not saying these are bad i just dont see the reason to get these.

      @@charlesbronson240 I think it's more so the weight of the boot. I'm on concrete all day and I feel as though these will help a lot compared to my heavier boots.
