Who is going to find out what dirt this corrupt officer's father has on whom? Something stinks.
The conduct of all officers at the scene was shocking, but the female officer in particular was horrendous in her conduct. The cop who said he was bit lied. At one point Sunshine did nip in the direction of him, but it was NOT when the rapist cop claimed he was bitten. I work with dogs sometimes, training them to be social. I have been nipped, pulled on and bit, I can tell you the officer would have yelled out if he waa bit. We would have heart growling. Time for the state to investigate those cops. I know if they tased my dog I would have gone ballistic. My dogs are my kids and I will protect them as such!
All cops need to be held accountable for all of their actions, no excuse, no exceptions Cops will lie and forget their reports to get away with stuff. Any internal investigation always is on the side of the cops. All investigation should be done by outside parties
When cops lie on camera. They need to leave the profession. How does the owner call off the dog if hes face down on a sqaud car. Worst cops ive ever seen
Only saw this recently, it's sad how these don't get much attention. In what scenario does the police get to be the 'good guy' when they tase a dog for excitement.
This whole police force and these cops should be ashamed of themselves their mother did not raise them like that. And what's wrong with panhandling the guy just wants to feed his dog and himself God knows the government's not helping
This cop is not only a liar, they both used excessive force and are gravely incompetent. Where they not just to tired of responding? Couldn't they ask the vet to talk besides the roadway to effectively communicate, expressing their concerns and hearing out his without this fiasco?... Authoritarianism is not effective de-escalation. There are plenty of intelligent, honest, and great cops, these two however should be punished. When LEOs prepare to apprehend someone, the health and well-being of all involved must be considered prior to arrest, not merely (perp is being argumentative) not respecting my authority so let's jump on him! Besides, the Male Officer's being afraid of such a friendly dog does not Garner confidence in his competency in gradually going up and down the latter of force with minimal damage...besides a reasonable and prudent person would take the risk to other motorist more serious. Furthermore, the backup response made it look like they were responding to a terror attack and only seemed worse as knowone really questioned the event. Sure it could have been worse, but this is not our standard. The Cities later decision, the fact that the officers are still employed and the overall optics have earned this case our 'National Disgrace' award...Lord Have Mercy....Lastly, zero dollars for foreign engagements when our own Vets are in such shape and they are confronted with inept totalitarianism at home!
How many times have you heard of a police man getting punished for lying on a police report? Maybe that’s the reason they lie when the truth would , let’s say , doesn’t make them look good.

They released it. I watched it. It's on TH-cam. He's not completely innocent as he's trying to proclaim. He lied about panhandling---a city ordinance violation---that apparently he had been warned about previously, was obtuse, and resisted arrest. He was partly responsible for escalating the situation unnecessarily. It appeared one of the cops lied about his dog biting him. The only one I feel sorry for is his dog which later died after being hit by a car in an unrelated event. If he's looking for a big payout I'm not sure the body cam video is going to do it.
He was obtuse? Is that a misdemeanor or felony? He produced his ID and you're allowed to resist illegal arrests. The only reason why you can't is because of bootlickers like you convicting people.
You have zero compassion. You think that the police, who have complete discretion to handle this, acted in a way that was appropriate? Which part was appropriate? When they continually escalated the situation? Lied? Arrested him out of anger.... What was his crime again? Panhandling? Where was his sign? He said he was just waving. That's legal. He has the first amendment in his corner. They have to prove that he was doing what they accused him of doing, and there's no evidence to support it, other than him standing there. It's unfortunate that you think this is the way that the this should have been handled and are essentially attempting to justify the rediculous actions of the police. hmm I wonder why
City ordnance doesnt trump the 1st Amendment which covers and protects panhandling and begging. He was perfectly willing to comply with their order to leave the median strip and he clearly didnt understand why his out of date ID was necessary. They could have taken an extra 30 seconds to calmly explain why they needed his other ID and instead they escalated the situation by arresting him. The cops are 100% in the wrong. Honestly this guy has a potential lawsuit against the town and the police for violating his 1st Amendment protected activity.
The good ole police investigating themselves and aloud to lie routine. What a disgrace to all law enforcement. And you wonder why people don’t respect law enforcement. I respect Joshua a hell of a lot more than these tyrants. Now here we are 8 years later and the police still don’t want to learn the law or peoples rights let alone have compassion for someone less fortunate. Victimless crimes should not be handled this way in the least bit and the benefit of the doubt should always be for the people until proven guilty. You cops sure made a mess of this country. Yes, there are good ones but they should be the ones standing against this tyranny. Where are all the good cops against this atrocious behavior?!
The department nothing that department is hiding real footage of something very slight but major at the same time for example now if it was a person killed you think there going to release the footage if they won’t even reapers footage of the dog
Wow he needs a walker how sad NOT and that’s a fake service dog not even a year old. Not to mention the fact his so-called service dog wasn’t even on a leash all he had to do was show his ID but he resisted the whole time and his dog bit and Officer and tried to bite the second one no one should help him he should be homeless and get help on his own probably not even a veteran all of them homeless lie to lie and say they’re veterans when they’re not
All he had to do was give his ID to the cop and take the citation. Instead he argued with them and disobeyed which led to everything else. Obey officer orders or suffer the consequences.
Bruh you have the mind of the police not the people they had no right to cite him. Abuse of power when he brought his id out they didn’t listen and tried to arrest in unlawfully(abuse of power) then tazed his service dog for no reason(abuse of power)
I just saw it and this guy could have just prevented the entire thing by either just giving his id or just by staying away from the median like he was previously told to do a few days prior. About the dog, there really isn't anyway to prove that the dog bit the shoe as we don't have the actual bite on the video. What we do have is the dog behaving a little aggressively as it was his job to protect his owner as it was the police officer's job to protect his partner.

If you've never watched 4th amendment auditors, I would recommend looking up videos on seizing ID from an individual who has not committed a crime. Demanding ID from someone who has not committed a crime is a violation of your rights. I'm not familiar of the laws of Gastonia or the state that is in, but Joshua could be at fault being in a median. My understanding of pan-handling is when you solicit money or goods from someone. Which I have not seen a video yet with him doing that. He is correct when he says waving at people from a street is not a CRIME. If they stop and give him something that's them impeding traffic. That man is a vet and homeless for the lord of mercy to not show him any mercy is a crime, and his trusted companion is now gone because of this encounter. Sad stuff, hope you can educate yourself a little more.
@@trevorhabermehl9565 Well said. Some people will defend cops to the end even if they are in the wrong like this guy. P.S Stop defending the Police Officers, they were clearly in the wrong in this situation.
They’re either in the blue line gang or cheerleaders for the blue line gang. Rational thinking is a thing of the past for most people. Now most people are into group think and divided into groups
April of next year?????? WTF.
District Attorney Travis Page said that the arrest of Joshua Rohrer, by Officer Cierra Brooks and former Officer Maurice Taylor did nothing illegal. Panhandling charges against Joshua Rohrer dismissed ( Rohrer appeared in Gaston District Court and pleaded guilty to driving while license revoked. All other charges against Rohrer were dismissed.) Brooks received a three-day disciplinary suspension without pay and
Maurice Taylor III, resigned from the police department.
This is a disgrace!!!!
Ask for the FBI to investigate Officer's violations on human rights, and assault on a disabled Veteran and his Service Dog.
RCW 9A.76.200
(3) Harming a police dog, accelerant detection dog, or police horse is a class C felony.
i predict these officers receive no punishment for murdering his dog though 🤔
Dog wasn't murdered! Tazed and ran off. He has his dog back.
Internal investigation means internal coverup.
What a pathetic, dishonorable mayor Walker E. Reid. III is for letting this kind of trash in our police department on our tax payers dollar.
What a disgrace to all the family’s and country.
Disgrace on everyone who was part of that pow wow and did nothing for our veteran.
My opinion is going be unpopular but after I saw full videos. The homeless man was in the wrong. the cops warned him several days in a row. Also he needs to stop playing the Vet card. I'm a Vet and the cop that made contact with him days before incident tried to help him
@@chrisle2674 Wrong. The police could have easily de-escalated the situation by calmly explaining why they needed his out of date ID instead of arresting him. The guy also was perfectly willing to comply with their command to leave the median strip. Your opinion is unpopular because it's wrong.
@@chrisle2674you're delusional
I felt so bad for him watching that video 💔😒 he’s homeless and people around there said he’s no harm to anyone. He tased that dog and I did not see her bite him. She may have nipped but I don’t know. It’s just disgusting the way he and his animal were treated
That's why police officers should be accountable hit the middle wallet not the city
The cops daddy is internal affairs
The cop who said he was bit lied. At one point Sunshine did nip in the direction of him, but it was NOT when the rapist cop claimed he was bitten. I work with dogs sometimes, training them to be social. I have been nipped, pulled on and bit, I can tell you the officer would have yelled out if he waa bit. We would have heart growling. We would have seen a threat display. Sunshine did nothing wrong, the cop who killed her deserves a legal firing squad.
PD didn't even give him all of the footage, like they were ordered to by the judge.
Gastonia must have some seriously corrupt cops. Never visit here, it's a horrible place
These pigs need to be arrested !!!!!!
Time for the state to investigate those cops.
I know if they tased my dog I would have gone ballistic.
My dogs are my kids and I will protect them as such!
To serve and collect. Are we free, or free to do what we’re told?
to punish and enslave
All cops need to be held accountable for all of their actions, no excuse, no exceptions
Cops will lie and forget their reports to get away with stuff.
Any internal investigation always is on the side of the cops.
All investigation should be done by outside parties
When cops lie on camera. They need to leave the profession. How does the owner call off the dog if hes face down on a sqaud car. Worst cops ive ever seen
Justice for Sunshine and Josh!
Only saw this recently, it's sad how these don't get much attention. In what scenario does the police get to be the 'good guy' when they tase a dog for excitement.
Never they are trash
This whole police force and these cops should be ashamed of themselves their mother did not raise them like that. And what's wrong with panhandling the guy just wants to feed his dog and himself God knows the government's not helping
Tht lady cop will rot in hell she caused the death of poor dog
He’s not going to be homeless anymore.
That is not service dog. More of an emotional support dog, which is entirely different than a trained support animal. The VA does not provide them to Vets, only true service animals.
Are you saying the news and guy are lying ?
@@jimdoe3288 No. The dog was found and someone else was keeping it for him while he was in jail. It got loose from them and got hit by a car. The police had nothing to do with it.
@charleskiplinger9904 she was a service dog and the police are directly responsible for her death
@@sunshineprojectnc per the VA. The VA does not provide service dogs for physical or mental health conditions, including PTSD. VA does provide veterinary care for service dogs that are deemed medically necessary for the rehabilitation or restorative care plan of Veterans with permanent physical impairments.

Joshua im so sickened by the video of these police treating you like this an killing you dog. I truly believe in karma. I believe in the lord as well. And i hope he answers to him before going to hell
yeah but I researched that and he pled guilty to some charges that means he has no lawsuit? he should not plead guilty to anything this is a horrible manifestation of events but it is evidence of what Gastonia is I have been to Gastonia it is a terrible place it looks like it's a poverty place and of course in the town like this you have the appropriate police
I didn't plead guilty to those charges they were dismissed
I saw that video before. It should be a hate crime/racial hate crime
@@anon4854I have filed a lawsuit
This is going to get big!!!!!
It sure did
The good ole police investigating themselves and aloud to lie routine.
To all police like this shameful to protect you department before the people
So they investigate themselves. I can tell you now what the results of that will be........
What do they call SERIAL KILLERS? People Who Enjoy Abusing Animal's AND The HOMELESS??
They did their job in the line of duty. Qualified immunity will prevail to save their jobs. But the public will foot the bill for all settlements.
No they didn't
Wow he needs a walker how sad NOT and that’s a fake service dog not even a year old. Not to mention the fact his so-called service dog wasn’t even on a leash all he had to do was show his ID but he resisted the whole time and his dog bit and Officer and tried to bite the second one no one should help him he should be homeless and get help on his own probably not even a veteran all of them homeless lie to lie and say they’re veterans when they’re not
Your comment didn't age well huh. The ignorance abounds.
Cops earning the hate
The female cop that showed up her daddy is the cpt of that pds ia unit
The father of the arresting cop in head of the Internal Affairs. Yeah, I’m sure there will be an “internal investigation “. Stay tuned.
Was so wrong
All he had to do was give his ID to the cop and take the citation. Instead he argued with them and disobeyed which led to everything else. Obey officer orders or suffer the consequences.
Bruh you have the mind of the police not the people they had no right to cite him. Abuse of power when he brought his id out they didn’t listen and tried to arrest in unlawfully(abuse of power) then tazed his service dog for no reason(abuse of power)
Sadistic thugs.
God bless Joshua router
The body worn camera footage can be seen on James Freeman's channel: th-cam.com/video/Qaiba5oD65c/w-d-xo.html
Body camera was released Check out James Freeman on TH-cam he has the entirety of it.

Wrong . The cops could of avoid all this if they weren’t evil pigs
@@trevorhabermehl9565 Well said. Some people will defend cops to the end even if they are in the wrong like this guy. I personally don’t hate cops but I feel they hold tons of power/responsibility where mistakes like this aren’t acceptable. If people are going to be forced to pay tax dollars to hire a group of individuals to protect and serve their communities they should at least have the best of best doing the job… none of this ridiculous nonsense that requires them to bully a homeless vet and taser a dog that later dies.
Ok the dog is a boot biter and you’re a boot licker. You definitely should be ashamed of yourself buddy.
I recommend that no one travels to Louisiana. They have a stop and ID on demand law in place. They don't need a crime to ask for ID. They don't need to charge you or get you a citation based on their wild imagination. Many states have these Terry laws. It is how they implement them.
