This is fun for me to watch. In 1982 when I was 31 years old I went to Poland to find my remaining relatives who were the descendants of those had not emigrated along with my great-great grandfather in 1870. I found them and that was exciting and interesting. They were in a few villages down in the foothills to the Carpathians. But when I was in Warsaw what I encountered was a country under Martial Law in the Soviet-imposed government reaction to the success and strength of Solidarity. There were battalions of military police at corners which were heavily trafficked, around bus and tram stops, etc. The irony of it was that these boys were Polish and were following orders of a foreign world power but the idea that they would assault or shoot their fellow Poles in the name of a despised and imposed government was, to me, ludicrous. The mood then was so different from what I see in your nifty video. There was practically nothing in stores, there were food shortages, you had to stand in line for everything (there were even professional line-standers who would hold your place while you did other errands). It's really quite unbelievable for me to see something that I never would have dreamed of seeing in my lifetime: a free and prosperous Poland. And yet there you two are enjoying what is joyfully spilling forth in this beautiful country after having been held back and repressed for long periods in its history, not only as recently as until 1989, but all through its 1050-year recorded past, which I encourage everyone to find out a bit about if you'd like an engaging read.
Yeah most would agree that Communism isn't prosperous at all and led to many things not even being available . Inventories of many businesses being stripped. Empty shelves. Unfortunately see lies propaganda video of older Russians saying they missed the former Soviet Union system.

Zakopane is so overrated... It used to be beautiful maybe 20 years ago. Now it's only shops and dirt. Been there last year. Expensive, smelly (not in good way), full of shops (adidas, nike type), not a magic place like my parents used to say.
What about current prices on lodging like hotels or hostels in these places ? Restaurant meals the lower end average ? One person who I asked disputed this young couple's experience in saying ok average lunch was at least 15 euros which to me was very expensive. That in USD is about 17-18 ( I think ) . Beers and transportation prices ? Also heard that hard to say since taxes are increasing and inflation prices are hard to say ..?
You can easily find a good hotel in Warsaw for less than $200. A good meal in a good restaurant runs $25 to $50 per person. Long term apartment rentals are only a bit more expensive than in Amsterdam. The coffee can be much more expensive than in Italy and Spain and costs about the same as in the US.

I travelled on my own in January 2019 to Gdańsk, Bydgoszcz, Warsaw, Poznań, Wrocław, Katowice and Kraków. I'm sorry but I did not like Warsaw. I'd love to return in warmer months, saying that I loved the snow. I'm from Glasgow, Scotland so I tried learning Polish on TH-cam. 😯😆 Nearly EVERY VLOG I watch is about how "cheap" Poland is and Pierogi, it's getting tiring. I'm the minority, I don't think Poland is that cheap. It must be expensive for locals.
haha 4:17 its not the price for pierogi :D it was for salad mix and then - it was not the price for Lipton tee haha, again for salad mix. I guess the exact prices were above products :D
I loved Poland as well. It is super affordable indeed. The only comment you guys made that I do not agree with wholeheartedly is the English language. My experience was in Warsaw was that only about half of the people knew some English. Many people I came across knew very little or none at all. As several Poles that did speak some English told me, the Polish knowledge of English will probably be up to par within ten years or so.
That's really interesting! For us, Polish people had the best English out of any country we've been to in Central/Eastern Europe. Almost everyone we encountered spoke at least halfway decent English
It’s not easy to expect people over 40 years old speak english. When they attended to school there was no english in school at all. Only russian, sometimes french or german.
Spent one week in Wrocław and Kraków. Hotel, food and restaurants, transportation (to, in and from Poland) and additional costs for museums: $350 - €300
Yes I'd love to eat and drink my way thru Poland 😂😆. I've only been to Mexico and it was much more affordable than the US. Stayed in fairly luxurious hotel for maybe $40 a night a few years ago in Monterey and then in Mexico City right in downtown not far from the basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe right around Christmas / New Year's. Eating out also much less than eating out in US. Beer was half price but then again it was locally produced Mexican beer Tecate.
I don't understand why you didn't get millions of views on your Polish tour. Polish people love to watch foreigners that are recommending a visit to Poland ;) Besides, you've visited Wrocław, Warsaw, and Poznań, which are (unfortunately) major polish cities. There are a lot of other cities that aren't as big as those mentioned, but that has more interesting features (if you will), like Toruń, Malbork (both with the castles from the Teutonic order) or Jelenia Góra (the gold deposits) than ... well .. food and cheap Airbnb ;)
@@frankmontez6853 In most of those places bus tickets should be around $1. As for other things it's pretty hard question, because a lot is happening in Poland right now. Not only we have Covid, but there are also a big tax changes (not in favour of regular people) and inflation. So, the prices can (and will) change at any moment. But there's a thing: if you visit a place that's not a tourist's first, second and third choice and you'll do it out of season (which is around June-August in the northern and southern parts and December-February in the southern part) then the prices should be 10-20% lower. And if you don't mind looking for a cheaper places, then you will probably find a lot of restaurants that are even cheaper. And as for the beverages, the canned beer can cost around 50 cents, and if you go to the pub the same beer will be around $2. The marks that are being advertised as "premium" will cost even more. Especially if you go to some sort of a fair. At those you can count for the double or triple the regular price. I hope this gave you some sort of image. Sorry, that I can't provide the price ranges, but right now it's just not possible.

You’re crazy if you think it’s cheap. Try buying a flat that’s up to western standards and you’ll see what I mean. My grocery costs for my small family per month is between 4K-5k PLN. And that’s shopping at Biedronka. This coupled with high costs per sq meter in major cities is something to seriously consider when you’re earning in PLN. A western standard flat in Warsaw or Krakow will cost some serious money. Easily over a million PLN in developer standard and can be ~2 million when complete. A house will cost you much more. Think 3-4 million. And if you have children attending private school you better be ready to pay. Since you’re American, an American style school in Warsaw can be anywhere from ~$15,000-$35,000 per year for each child if not more. Life is cheap if all you’re eating is bread and water. You guys are out of touch I must say

I'd love to return in warmer months, saying that I loved the snow.
I'm from Glasgow, Scotland so I tried learning Polish on TH-cam. 😯😆
Nearly EVERY VLOG I watch is about how "cheap" Poland is and Pierogi, it's getting tiring.
I'm the minority, I don't think Poland is that cheap. It must be expensive for locals.
Yes seen other videos on prices being even higher. Though at these restaurant prices not too much. Hotel rates aren't that good though.
How's in scotland?
You guys are a really cute couple. Here's to lots of cute babies when you get your fill of travel.
Now polish people in the coments, wow sombody noticed my Country Best video.
haha 4:17 its not the price for pierogi :D it was for salad mix
and then - it was not the price for Lipton tee haha, again for salad mix.
Great info.
Spent one week in Wrocław and Kraków. Hotel, food and restaurants, transportation (to, in and from Poland) and additional costs for museums: $350 - €300
That's in British pounds ? I need to find currency exchange for USD.
@@frankmontez6853 I’d say that’s 275 pounds
In Biedronka, prices are presented on shelves above the goods, not under.
I love Poland!!! In particular Warsaw
I don't understand why you didn't get millions of views on your Polish tour. Polish people love to watch foreigners that are recommending a visit to Poland ;)
Besides, you've visited Wrocław, Warsaw, and Poznań, which are (unfortunately) major polish cities. There are a lot of other cities that aren't as big as those mentioned, but that has more interesting features (if you will), like Toruń, Malbork (both with the castles from the Teutonic order) or Jelenia Góra (the gold deposits) than ... well .. food and cheap Airbnb ;)
How are restaurant , hotel , transportation and beverage prices in these other cities
@@januzi2 what about Czech beer pilsner urquell ? I truly like that one. Is that a premium one ?
@@frankmontez6853 I have seen it bottled. It was between $3 and $4. As for pubs it should be available in some (but not in those ones I've been to), probably above $5.
@@januzi2 here before the high inflation bought a six pack for about $8 -9 .. at the pub glass of it maybe $5 ..
I love Poland
Hi there ! You should back to Poland and visit couple of awesome natural places like: Mazury, Polish seaside, Tatry or Bieszczady mountains. Wrocław, Poznań or Warsaw are fantastic but if you want to see something special you should visit the above :)
We will definitely need to come back to Poland because we've heard there are so many great places that we missed!! Can't wait to visit again :)
@@JackandGabExplore Nice to hear that! If Lodz (Łódź) is in your plans, please let me know, I believe I will be able to share some interesting places and local things ;) Cheers!
@@danielobalski6694 how are prices now ? This video is two years old. Yes prices can be different depending on where . How much for average low priced meals or beverages ? For transportation and hotel ?
@@danielobalski6694 yes thought of Lodz
@@frankmontez6853 you van eat very cheap kebab for around 15pln which is around 3,5Eur. Cost of lunch (soup, meat, some drink)in normal restaurant should be around 60-80pln which is 17-18 Euro. Per person of course.
Water 1,5l in normal shop = 0,5 Euro
Pepsi 2l in normal shop = 2 Euro
Standard lager 0,5l in normal shop = 1Eur, in pub =2-4EUR depends on class of pub.
Ticket for 1day of public transport = 3EUR
Nice 3* Hotel for about 40Eur on booking
Enjoy your travel in Poland 🇵🇱Gab you might get 7000 subscribers for your TH-cam channel next month:)
Well you visit Macedoina next year

If you want to come here again. Come to Łódź and just let me know. I will show you most unusual city in Poland ;) Totally different

We invite you again to Poland for PIEROGI 😁😁 😊
We will definitely be back! We can't stay away from pierogi for too long :)
Heh nice to hear so many complements about Poland which in i Personally Live. Next time go to Rzeszow or Krakow or Katowice eksdi(XD)
I have a challenge for you ... make a vlog if you make dumplings because you like them and this is a simple dish???
Ooooh that's a great idea! Unfortunately our kitchens are somewhat limited but we would love to do something like that :)
that sounds nice, but people in Poland are working for like 4$ per hour so prices have to be smaller
Lovely country! 🧡💚💙
We ❤ Poland!! :)
Hi guys, just fyi the price in Biedronka for pierogi doesn't show the price of pierogi but of some kind of pre-made salad. Pierogi are usually around 6.99 złoty. The price tags don't go along with the products you're showing.
I don't know why Polish are so upset about "pierogies". I'm from Poland and I think "pierogies" don't sound bad
Pierogies don't sound bad. They sound DELICIOUS!
Agree :)
Everybody is mad about pierogis, but fine with chipsy and krakersy.
You missed one of the BEST cities in Poland- KRAKOW! It's a MUST see!! Living here 3 years-wouldn't live anywhere else! Nice video-Please don't miss Krakow next time!
We've heard Krakow is great so we'll definitely have to check it out next time we're in Poland :)
How are prices now there ?
@@frankmontez6853 Extremely affordable, especially for "Western" budgets. Prices are always going up, yet the exchange ratio is 4 to 1 in regard to US dollars for example.
@@JackandGabExplore Great! Let us know when your planning to come!
@@22ergie like how much for a restaurant meal ? Transportation and so so hotel ? Have you seen a lot of Ukraine refugees yet ?
is there an update?
Poland is very Good country for live with family.
Hi! I am very interested in who paid you for the marketing of Poland?
Nobody paid us! We just love Poland :) We are already planning to come back next summer!
@@JackandGabExplore I welcome you in Gdańsk!
You guys have Polski ascendance? You pronounced every city right
Jack's mom side of the family is Polish! We googled all the city titles ahead of time to learn to pronounce them correctly :)
How does someone get three weeks off to visit Poland?
why you didn't visit Krakow?
There were so many amazing cities that we wanted to visit but we didn't have enough time to get to them all :( We've heard Krakow is incredible so we'll definitely have to come back to Poland to visit.
Jack and Gab Explore Kraków is the most beautiful:/ pity you missed it :p i can even show you a bit in Kraków:)
Best to visit is Marlbork:)
@@mateuszmakiea2735 Poland has more cities than Cracaw, its very touristy, like Amsterdam or Barcelona.People even try to call money out of your pocket, like in Prague. Wise that they choose other cities. Another tip Jack and Gab, visit Zamosc,Lublin,Bydgorscz Torun,Gdansk,Jelenia Gora and Olstzyn. If you gonna visit Lower Silesia again, visit the Europecity Gorlitz/Zgorzelec too, easy to combine with Dresden in Germany. Gorlitz was used as set in for example the movie:Grand Budapest Hotel. Gorlitz is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany with around 1500 monumental buildings.
Guys super!but remember Poland is in centre on Europe....not east
Hey Gab what is your favourite food in Macedoina
Why buses not trains?
Flix bus was the cheapest mode of transportation that we could find at the moment - we much prefer trains so we'll have to check out the train system in Poland next time we're there.
I paid 14pln for a medium black coffee at costa coffee in Warsaw....pricey!!!
the rent doesn't sound all the cheap
hostel is around 20 and studio apartment is 25-35usd i dont know how your app is rob u
Re: Electric scooters - environmentally friendly? They need to be charged and most electcity in Poland comes from coal plants. Also batteries come from the congo where child slavery is employed. Some things to consider
Yeah, that uber fancy coffee drinker you were looking at... yup, that's me :-)
Ahh ta Polska
Pewnie polak juz komentarze czytal :)
Polak piszemy z wielkiej litery
Try to earn basic pay in Poland and live there then you will see how affordable it is :( even if you earn double of basic it's still expensive if you dont live with parents and have to rent
Totally understand that living expenses are an entirely different thing that expenses for travelers.
I'm from Łódź ;)

if you think Poland is cheap you should visit Sopot during summer time…...and if u do i can be a tour guide …...
heeeeelll nah man, u look EXACTLY like Maciej Musiał - polish actor! thats insane XD
Nice country. As an egyptian i enjoyed it alot.
People earning in usd or eur: Poland is so cheap to live
Polish 610eur minimal wage: Hello there
From which country are u from?
I am from poland.
Aim from Poland :)
Pierogi is actually plural so don't say pierogies. It hurts.
Jak rozumiem ty jak kupujesz w sklepie lays to nie mówisz "chipisy" tylko chips... W końcu samo chips są plural...
Gab will you visit north macedoina next year 🇲🇰🇲🇰🇲🇰💜💜
polski NBP konsekwentnie obniża wartość złotówki od kilku lat to i Polska jest affordable dla cudzoziemców.
where you from? ;)
We're American! From San Diego, California :)
Next time in Poland go walking in the mountains.
Peace, (man ~and woman).
You're so fuckin hot. I mean Gab. I love You. Marszczę freda oglądjąc fimiki jak jesz albo wymiawiasz słowo "pierogi"
You guys are out of touch I must say
hi
Pierogi, not pierogies :D
Vodka? Yeah why not
its affortable for You Guys :)- Americans and Westerns People :) not for Poles, who earns so little, not everybody can afford eating everyday out, and sleep in such nice airbnb :( life.
nice video, thanks for advertasing my country so much :)
Poland is very cheap for Americans, but not for Poles :)
@Grupa Trzecia Ale ja się z niczego nie śmieje. Stwierdzam fakt
In Mexico needed to show them my passport to rent room and even just to exchange money .. Yet some make a huge deal about voting ID here ..lol. Sheesh
It's wise if you learn some German in Central-Europe!
