A well-deserved victory for Johnny. "Hold Me Now" easily outranks his other winners if you ask me. Italy's scatterbrained success was rather frustrating to behold. The Netherlands made a burst into the top-5, which was joyous to witness.
I never enjoyed that Italian entry, just like I treni di Tozeur.
This was by far Johnny Logan’s best winner, though I quite like Terminal 3 (while not a winner) too. I think the Italian song deserved better. My top 10 for 1987 for reference:

On just a few minutes, Cyprus get 38 points more. When they was giving their votes they have 42 points.
Turkey didn’t deserve last place with 0

The United Kingdom gave 6 points to Cyprus, not to France, so 42 points is correct when they start their voting!
