  • Back in architecture school, I used to make lots of study models for my projects to develop iterations and refinements of a design. I was never good at creating a final quality physical model of my projects, but I always found value in having them. In the real world, they help our clients envision their dream house, development, hospital, stores, and all other kinds of spaces.
    With digital fabrication technology like laser cutters and CNC machines, we can create a quality model of our designs. Here's how I create an architecture study model of an A-Frame cabin with a Glowforge laser cutter.
