I've listened to this song over and over for years daydreaming about the man's eyes I would look into as the words to this song played softly. Each time I've heard it, I always end up shedding a tear thinking that I may not ever get that chance.
Last night 9/27/22 I went on a date with a friend I've been getting to know for a few weeks. We ended dinner and didn't want the night to end so we started chatting the night away and listening to tunes in the car like teenagers🙃. We talked about everything under the sun, music playing and then all of a sudden.....it happen.... this song started playing, and it was just like a page out of my own imagination. We locked eyes, both knew the words.... both singing each lyric with feeling like we'd somehow both longed for the exact same moment.
God, I'm terrified. Over the years I've convinced myself that things like this don't happen for women like me, I'm nervous and fearful, I just don't want to be hurt. Crying as I type because my heart wants to open to him but its landlocked and guarded. And although healing has taken place opening up isnt easy, afraid to fall off the cliff and not be caught, but deep down, he seems like everything I want and need🙏🏾
