- During his book launch at Kolkata Press Club on 2 May, eminent economist Parakala Prabhakar appealed to the attendees to vote wisely. Prabhakar said if the BJP comes back to power at the Centre, there will be no free and fair elections in the country. Prabhakar was in Kolkata for the promotion of his book The Crooked Timber of New India: Essays on Republic In Crisis.

Democracy is dying not only because of Modi but because the opposition is refusing to play its role.
In a press conference, Rahul Gandhi was blaming others for not playing the role of the opposition.
Irrelevance of Congress due to their obsession with the unelectable Nehru Gandhis has led to a situation where the opposition has completely disappeared from the ground.
It is the job of the opposition to ensure that the election commission is independent and elections are conducted through a system which is completely transparent and foolproof.
How can democracy survive where the election commission rigs elections through an electoral process which no one can understand and thereby can be rigged easily without the knowledge of anyone?

When no revenue gets generated why govt will spend money for salaries and compensation when accidents happen. Privatization is better option to give good service and generate revenue. See how many accidents happened in congress time and BJP time. Check far better the railways service now compared to previous govt. Before commenting go and check the facts.
