Please upload more often on Astronomy. I love your videos so much, it would be great to see more videos like this on seeing nebulas etc.

Hi mate, awesome video! I’m curious on which direction your balcony faces? I’m in Brisbane, also with a sizable balcony that faces 330 degrees NW, to about 110 degrees East. I’m about to shell out a fair amount on an upgrade with the Askar 80PHQ on an AM5 (with the ASIAIR plus) but am worried that I won’t be able to polar align, as I can’t see anywhere near the south CP. I noticed your mount was nearly pointing into your unit with a successful job! I’ve never owned an EQ mount so I’m a bit new to it all! Your thoughts? 🙏🏻

Hi Dan, thanks for the comment.
Now a days most softwares offer an all sky polar alignment figure, which doesn’t require you to look at polaris at all. However your telescope axis still needs to be pointing south (in my case, balcony’s roof) and then you command your telescope to something which is visible to your of skies, it will do an unsuccessful go-to but take you to region of sky where telescope can see stars. Then you hit all sky polar alignment and it will take three photo’s at a few degrees apart and confirm how much you are out of alignment. You do a round of those adjustments. I have found if you do the whole process a couple of times, you get pretty damn close to polar alignment and then it always performs a successful go-to. There onwards you can start your astrophotography session with guiding etc. Reach out if you have any further questions. Good luck with the investment.

ASI Air to operate the ASI AIR PLUS.
Another app used in this video was Star Walk.
