Absolutely stunning playing (as always). Uncle would have loved it so much. Brought tears to my eyes thinking about the first time we got to meet him at HMS.... we were fortunate enough to play Moore Bettahs for him, too. :) Loving tribute to a wonderful man.
What a beautiful tribute to Len. I know how much he loved The Ukulele Site and every member of The Ukulele Site 'ohana. Len did me the great favor of introducing me to all of you wonderful people, and I know how much he loved you all, and Corey, he adored your kids. I'm deeply saddened by his passing, but I can only imagine how devastated you all are. Mahalo nui loa for remembering him this way, with your beautiful playing and words.
My sympathy on the loss of your friend. You folks have been steadfastly inspiring me since discovering this program- a little over a year ago. I am a guitarist by trade and vocation, and hadn't touched a uke in 20 years. Thanks to you, and stumbling upon a great handmade tenor, I am now quite the uke addict- now owning (and playing) EIGHT of them- in all sizes. I feel better, and blessed for both the beautiful playing from you guys, and the inspiration it provides within my playing! Thanks for that, and the fabulous instruments I have purchased from you! Keep it up, and please be well! Aloha!
A beautiful tribute to your friend. He will be greatly missed. His work on earth is done. He has returned to the universe, to heaven. He is now everywhere. ❤️
Thank you ever so much for doing Sultans of Swing! You had my dog and I dancing around the kitchen going nuts when I was suppose to be cooking for Thanksgiving !
Brought tears to my eyes even though I never knew your friend Len personally. How precious these special relationships are. Thank you for this podcast to honor him. Beautifully done!
It's always a somber feeling when we lose people that have really left an impression upon us. Happy that you guys are celebrating Len's life!! As Ke Akua welcomes him home. Sending nothing but positivity and Aloha to all involved, ohana and friends alike.
Thanks so much guys. I've been needing to hear this all week. This episode wouldn't have been complete without this Moore Bettah. I'm so sorry for your loss guys. I miss him a lot.
I miss Len. Chatting with him online early mornings. Him telling me about all the new restaurants he was starting to try with a friend who was into fine dining. Rebuilding his ukulele collection. Hearing about Kouki and Yutaka and the Fujimoto clan. Hearing about his Ukulele Site Ohana and Andrew and his family. His conversations with Chuck and Bonnie, I'm really thankful for all the people who brought Len joy and became his ohana. His retirement was much too short but you all made it the best for our friend Len.
Mahalo nui loa for this awesome tribute to Uncle Len! Kudos to Andrew, Corey, Kalei, and the entire ohana @ The Ukulele Site! Corey & Kalei, you 2 bruddahs absolutely rocked with your stunning ability and talent!!!😊👍🏻🤙🏻 I'm sure that Uncle Len is smiling down at each and every one of you @ The Ukulele Site!!!
Love that Kui Lee song....was one of the reasons I wanted to play and sing. I was 6 years old when I first heard it...and it was life-changing for it was contemporary and not just traditional Hawaiian music but from the heart of a Hawaiian. I liked his version more than the Don Ho take and loved his Ka Makani Kaili Aloha as it wasn't perfect...but very honest. I still play professionally these many years later because of this kind of inspiration given to that barefoot kid from Hilo back in the '60s. Thanks for reminding me and the touching tribute to Len.
So sad to hear of Uncle Len's passing.😔 We hung out a few times over the 3-1/2 years when I moved back from L.A. to Honolulu from Jan. 2016 to June 2019. We met up @ HMS in Haleiwa a few times and hung out with Corey and Kalei at the store and many times at the Ukulele Site @ the SALT location in Kaka'ako hanging out with Zach andz Corey and at all the free concerts that Andrew hosted over a few months after opening the 2nd store there. Me and Uncle Len had a lot in common in regards to moving away from Hawaii and living in California for a long time. Uncle Len was in Norcal and I was in SoCal!👍🏻 We met each other on the UU Forums way before he retired and moved back to Oahu. I moved to NorCal back in Oct. 2020 during the pandemic from L.A. I'm in Los Altos now. I moved quite a few times around California since leaving Hawaii in June 2019. Uncle Len and I kept in touch for the most part. Such a nice person w/the "Aloha Spirit" fo shua!!! RIP Uncle Len! I really miss you a lot, as I know all the ohana @ HMS/The Ukulele Site miss you so much,, too! And everyone else who knew Uncle len, too! My deepest sympathy goes out to Uncle Len's ohana, extended ohana, and many friends. ~A hui hou~
Corey так держать! Смотрю все ваши видео уже давно и жалею только о том что нахожусь очень далеко от вас (Russia). Я сам играю и порой когда теряю вдохновение захожу на ваш канал в поисках воодушевления.
35:55 What Kalei suggests would just be treasure, I'd be using them like crazy. There are plenty jam tracks for guitarist on yt and we can use them too, but the teaching approach that Kalei mentioned matched with the jam track for it would be something else. There are not many things like that even for guitarists, not to mention uke players. They'd be precious if you come around to actually do that.
Emotional and beautiful playing what a great send of for friends past. The tune 'Heart strings' I remember Kalei playing by a canal on a moore. Has he written tabs, music or tutorials for this piece?
So sorry for your loss.. he has been called home, God needs good people in heaven.. I'm sure he appreciates all of you and proud to call y'all his friends.. People never die, they live forever thru us.

That was the most beautiful and soulful version of i'll Remember You that I've ever heard. It brought tears to my eyes.
YES!!!!! JAM TRACKS FOR MEMBERS!!!!

Beautiful tribute. Amazing playing. Always sound so wonderful together.
10:20 "Best ukuleles", played by the foremost, sweetest, funniest, and humblest duo, musicians on God's green earth.
