Sorry to hear that things have "gotten a little rough." I can identify. I hope matters improve for you soon. Perhaps this inbuilt bass rolloff is part of why I never liked the sound of the C1000S. We had a pair in the studio back in the early 90's, and I never cared for them and almost never used them. I am surprised to see from the schematic that this is yet another mic that fakes having a balanced output. I know, Neumann TLM 102's and 103's do the same thing, as do my Rode NT1 Signature Series mics I bought recently. But I still don't like it.
Appreciate the support! Yeah, the topology is a little weird. As long as there aren't output issues the "balancing" act doesn't bother me too much. I get where you're coming from though.
